Bill Baker

Memorial services for William “Bill” Baker, 68, of Frankston will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with Pastor Shane Scroggins officiating.

Mr. Baker was born May 31, 1949, in Baytown to the late Bettie (Stewart) Baker and Alvin Baker and passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on July 29, 2017.

Over the span of his life, Bill enjoyed bull riding in his younger days, riding his Harley, traveling, raising kids, playing with his grandchildren, grilling and barbecuing with his friends and family and mowing the yard.

Mr. Baker worked for many engineering firms in the Houston and Tyler area over the past 45+ years and was currently employed at K P Engineering in Tyler. He will be remembered for his homemade hot sauce and green sauce that he always brought to work to share with his coworkers.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 24 years, Tina; his four daughters, Bonnie Greenough and husband Michael of Sana Fe, Misti McCoy and husband Tim of Lufkin, Tynna King and husband Jonathan of Jones Creek, Bj Baker of Austin, and two sons, Shane Baker and Casey Baker both of Angleton; he adopted his granddaughter Anna Baker and is raising his granddaughter Chasity. He also leaves behind one brother, Kevin Baker of Old Ocean; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Dustin, Jaycee, Cooper, Easton, Paisley, Brinlee, Haley, Serenity; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Travis, and Madison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Loyacano, Jerry Campbell, Bruce Meritt, Jay Denton, Jimmy Montgomery, Dudley Holdman, and Chuck Ashmore. Bill’s family also wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of East Texas for the exceptional care given to him.

Doris Gail Mynk

Services for Doris Gail Mynk, 77, of Frankston were scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Farmer officiating.

Mynk passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, in Tyler.

She was born July 14, 1940, in Ritzville, Washington to John Fode and Emelia Pflugrath.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Rovert and Ruben Fode, a sister Carol Benzel and daughter Benda Haase.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Mynk of Frankston; daughters Dorene Morton and husband Ron, Cheryl Tiner and husband Carl, Julie Beagley and husband Dennis and Cindy Mynk; son Richard Haase and wife Debora; brother Roy Fode and wife Patty and sister Ruth Welch and husband Bob; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She will be buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield, California.

Jimmy Wayne Frederick, Jr.

Memorial services for Jimmy Wayne Frederick Jr, 61, of LaRue were held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton on Saturday Aug. 12, 2017.

Jimmy passed away on July 28, 2017 in Durango, Colorado.

He was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Dallas to Jimmy Wayne Frederick Sr. and Emily Hutto Frederick. He not only was a son, brother, husband and father, he was a true friend to all that knew and loved him. Jim was a true cowboy even at a young age and was fortunate to have made that his livelihood as an adult.

If he knew there was a need, he did his best to take care of it. Jimmy was a Christian and Baptist by faith. He was a selfless man, a giver of his time and love. You would always find music playing in his truck. He found the words spoke to him in a special way.

He was a listener, truly wanting to know how you were, how life was treating you and what you were doing with your life because he cared. Jimmy was a dedicated contributor to numerous charities including St. Jude, Wounded Warrior Project and various Humane Societies.

His last contribution in this life was the gift of his organs. Jimmy grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1974. He remained close with his graduating class and they are his chosen family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Wayne Frederick Sr. and Emily Hutto Frederick; paternal grandparents, Wayne Frederick, Tina Frederick, Mary Frederick; maternal grandparents, Nelson and Pauline Hutto.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Charlotte Frederick; sons Russell Page, Ryan and Blair Page; granddaughters Blake and Bryce Page; sisters Julie and Phil Garrett and Jennifer Frederick.

John Carroll Etheridge

John Carroll Etheridge died Aug. 6, 2017.

He was born Jan. 29, 1947.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.

He lost his wife, Linda Etheridge on March 1, 2017.

He is survived by his mother, Dortothy Etheridge Adams of Reese, brother RL Etheridge and wife, Nance; sister Edie Harp and husband Ronnie; two sons, Chris Etheridge and wife Laura Etheridge of Poynor and Larry Etheridge and wife Toby Etheridge of Dallas; five grandchildren, Kelli Etheridge, Heather Etheridge, Haylee Etheridge, Holly Etheridge and Craig Etheridge; and one great grandchild, Spencer Etheridge.

Mary Jane Herrington

A funeral service for Mary Jane Herrington, 87, of Frankston, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at United Methodist Church of Frankston. She will be laid to rest in Frankston City Cemetery. Services are under the direction Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mrs. Herrington passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, in Palestine.

Mary was born June 18, 1930, in Frankston to William F. and Ellen (Elrod) Lade.

She was a member and past president of United Methodist Women. Mary worked for Champion Paper Mill, owned a flower shop from 1961-1968 and was co-owner of Coffee Landing Restaurant in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband K.D. “Tony” Herrington; brother Jimmy Lade and sister Evanel McGraw.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ronnie Clarkston, Karla and Mike Dennis, Karen and Mark Faulkner, all of Frankston, and Margie and Bully Grissom of Palestine.

She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Louise Lade of Frankston; godchild, Tish Jane Powell of Anahuac, TX; grandchildren, Joy Pearson and husband Tank, Dale Clarkston and wife Leslie, Heath Campbell and wife Katie, Steven Dennis, Kimberly McGuffey and husband Luke, Dr. Brenda Watkins and husband Phillip, Haley Faulkner, Luke Stanly and wife Christy and Maegan Stanly. She leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Heath Campbell, Steven Dennis, Luke Stanly, Tank Pearson, Luke McGuffey and Phillip Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Dale Clarkston, Joy Pearson, Brenda Watkins, Kim McGuffey, Maegan Stanly and Haley Faulkner.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, and friends are cordially invited to visit with Mary’s family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Vivian Simmons

Vivian Simmons, 80, died on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017. She will always be remembered for her strong will, unwavering faith in God, and love for her family.

Vivian, known by many as Nanny, was born on May 18, 1937, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Arthur and Ozzie Mae Allmon. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas, and moved around through the years until settling in Frankston. After 20 years at Western Pulp, she retired and started other adventures.

Vivian has traveled the world and visited 17 countries. From being baptized in the Jordan River to cruising the oceans all over the world; she was always ready for an adventure with family and friends. Known as a steadfast prayer warrior by family, friends and the community, she helped start and was a founding member of Berryville Community Church and Hilltop Baptist Church.

She is survived by four siblings: sister Jo Ann Lott and her husband Homer of Seminary, Mississippi; John Allmon and wife Lidia of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Arthur Allmon and his wife Diane of Sumrall, Mississippi; and David Allmon and his wife Virginia of Seminary, Mississippi; nine children, Jerry Simmons and wife Mary of San Antonio, Texas, Debbie Berry and husband Erv of Berryville, Texas, Jo Ann Postert and husband Ed of Bandera, Texas, and Sue Simmons of Jacksonville, Texas, James Simmons and wife Dana, Bill Simmons and wife Barbara, David Simmons and wife Victoria, Kathey Pritchard, and Cynthia Simmons; her sweetheart, Gerald Peterson of Berryville, Texas; 20 grandchildren, Amanda Giessen, Katrina Simmons, Len Folmar, Joshua Bettes, Leigh Jones, Kristen Simmons, Malori Johannes, Lori Berry, Kelly Black, Leslie Dion, Jonathan Pritchard, Danielle Pritchard, Joy Simmons, Tonya Hudson, Tony Simmons, Kimberly Hayes, Brendon Simmons, David Simmons, Leah Hanna, and Joshua Williamson; 19 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jake, Abby, Emmalen, Jaxson, Alex, Logan, Wyatt, Dylan, Reily, Bayleigh, Reily, Brianna, Kameron, Destiny, Taylor, Amber, Brittany, and TJ; five great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews to whom she remembered everyone’s birthday.

She was predeceased by her husband Joe Hilton, parents Arthur and Ozzie Mae Allmon, sibling Boliver Allmon and wife Loretta and nephew Rick Allmon.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Frankston, Texas, with Bro. George Folmar, Bro. Jim Thomas and Bro. Wayne Livingston. Interment followed in Garden Oaks Memorial Cemetery in the Berry Family Plot in Berryville, Texas. Services were under direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Pallbearers were Josh Bettes, Rian Jones, John Folmar, Joshua Williamson, Jake Folmar, Roy Giessen, Daniel Giessen, Chris Johannes and Tony Dion.

Patsy Ruth Nolen

A funeral service for Patsy Ruth Nolen, 85, of Frankston, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston.

She will be laid to rest in Frankston City Cemetery. Rev. J. A. Griffin and Rev. George Folmar will officiate.

Ruth passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, in Frankston.

She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Brownsboro to Thomas and Mary Hughes Barton.

Ruth was a member of Frankston Assembly of God and was a homemaker. She loved taking care of her family and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, LaWanda Jean Dunn.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 68 years; Everett Nolen; sons, Thomas Edward Nolen, Roger Dale Nolen and wife Nelda, Johnny Lee Nolen all of Frankston. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rickie Harley, Hollis Tipton, Douglas Dudd, Tracy Nolen, Roger Nolen, Jr. and Ryan Nolen.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, and friends are cordially invited to visit with Ruth’s family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Elmer Welch

A funeral service for Elmer Welch, age 89, of Frankston, is scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial will be in Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville.

Mr. Welch passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, in Athens.

Elmer was born in McGehee, AR on October 19, 1927, to the late Martin Terry and Jewell B. (McDaniel) Welch. He served in the United States Marines and was a Church of God minister. He was a truck driver for many years.

Upon moving to Frankston, he was a bus driver for Frankston ISD. Elmer enjoyed fishing, reading and preaching.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nan Welch and a daughter, Janice Vasquez.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Dianne Summo and husband Bill of Calif.; son, Bobby Welch and wife Retta of Athens; siblings, Robert Lynn Welch, Larry Welch, Jimmy Lee Welch, all of Arkansas, Perry Welch of New Boston and Billy Welch of Marshall. He is survived by six grandchildren Shawna Summo, Tara Rodgers, Vannessa Marks, Bernadett Vasquez, Robert Vasquez and Alsea Vasquez; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and multitude of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Robert Wallace

A funeral service for Robert Wallace, 78, of Frankston, was held Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Hilltop Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Wayne Livingston, Rev. Ron Ivy and Rev. George Folmar officiating. Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Wallace passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in Tyler.

Robert was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Blair, Oklahoma, to Ed and Rony (Woodard) Wallace.

He was a retired car salesman from Isaacs Motor Company and Bacon Chevrolet. He received a 50-year pin from William Foster Masonic Lodge. Robert loved working on race cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years Sue Wallace of Frankston; children, Dale Wallace and wife Tracy of Rusk, Darrell Wallace and wife Barbara of Mixon, Ronnie Lucas and wife Donita of Rusk, Johnnie Lucas and wife Vicky of Rusk, Dollie Brooks and husband Joe of Sacul, Tammy Williams and husband David of Frankston, and Dorothy Woodard of Splendora. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Joe Bob Brooks, Jr. and wife Laura of Sacul, Shaye Lucas of Rusk, Shad Lucas and wife Holly of Rusk, Cole Lucas and wife Morgan of Tyler, Cord Lucas and wife Kristen of Alto, Justin Wallace of Rusk, Dylan Beasley and wife Kendra, Taylor Williams, Kayla Williams and Baylee Williams, all of Frankston; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Shad Lucas, Cord Lucas, Cole Lucas, Justin Wallace, Joe Bob Brooks, Jr., Dylan Beasley and Dakota Elliott.
