Alan Dean Titus

Memorial services for Alan Dean Titus, 56, of Ben Wheeler are scheduled for Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Autry Funeral Home on Highway 175 in Frankston.

We will be gathering to celebrate his life and sharing memories.

Alan passed away April 1, 2017, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born February 5, 1961, to the late Dean Titus of Waxahachie and Jody Henson of Berryville.

Alan was known for his Handyman work around Frankston and Lake Frankston since 2007. Prior to that he worked as a salesman for Harvey Dupriest and Sons for 20 years.

Alan is preceded in death by his dad Dean Titus, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Alan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michelle Titus, sons Shawn and wife Tonie Titus of Palestine; Dustin Titus and Haydn Titus both of Arlington.

He has two granddaughters, Jordyn and Morgan Titus of Palestine. He is also survived by his mother, Jody Henson and sister, JoBeth Hanlon; brother, Clay and wife Dannetta Titus all of Berryville. His mother-in-law, Rita Vaughan and brother-in-law, CD Vaughan of Ben Wheeler. Multiple nieces and nephews and his beloved pets Zelda, Odysseus and Harley.

Alan enjoyed his work and getting to know his clients on a personal level.

He enjoyed nature and doing anything near or on the water: fishing, kayaking, hiking and was looking forward to traveling in the near future. He will be greatly missed and never replaced.

Bob Starnes

Bobby (Bob) Eugene Starnes, 84, of Flint, Texas, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 2, 2017.

He was born the sixth child of a sharecropper to Barney Starnes and Cora Mae Hawkins Starnes on Oct. 9, 1932, near Wills Point, Texas, where he graduated high school in the class of 1950.

He played football at Henderson County Junior College and North Texas Teachers College, and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science.

He served as a funeral director in Lamesa, Dallas, Ft. Worth and Canton.

Later he became a successful, self-employed insurance agent where he sold policies to educators and their families in many schools throughout East Texas. Known for his good-natured humor, he became a top-producing agent for Great American Life Insurance Company for many years.

A self-sacrificing man who never met a stranger, Bob served as President of the Tyler Life Underwriters, President of the Lamesa Lions Club, President of the Malibu Bay Property Association, President of the Lakeway Harbor Property Association, and the first Cub Master for the Cub Scouts in Canton.

During the Korean War, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.

He recently received his 50-year pin from the Masonic Lodge.

He was a faithful member of the Flint Baptist Church, where he enjoyed fellowship with The Seekers Sunday School class.

Bob is survived by his sons David Starnes and his wife Peggy of Beaumont; John Starnes and his wife Karla of Plano; his daughter Amy Winn and her husband Scott of McKinney, granddaughters Nicole Meler, Alexis Foster, Arden Foster, Canaan Starnes, Eden Starnes, Jordan Starnes, and grandsons, Jacob Starnes and Justin Starnes; great-granddaughters Makayla Meler, Robbie Meler, and great- grandson Hunter Meler.

Bob was proceeded in death by his wife, Barbara Dian Foster Starnes, step-son Robert Foster, his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Bob’s desire was to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Flint Baptist Church, 11131 FM 2868, Flint, Texas 75762.

Robert Howard Dunn

A graveside service for Robert Howard Dunn, 69, of Frankston, was held Monday, April 10, 2017, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas with Bro. Scott Parish officiating.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Dunn passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Tyler.Robert was born November 23, 1947, in Corsicana, Texas, to Charles and Betty Mae (Teetz) Dunn. He was a retired fireman for the City of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Patricia Dunn of Frankston; daughter, Stacey Reschke and husband John of Frankston; son, Christopher Dunn of Tyler; and sister Peggy Lynch of Mesquite.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Reschke, Hannah Reschke, and Courtney Gilbreath; and several nieces and nephews.

Michael Wayne Dunn

Michael Wayne Dunn, 64, husband of Joan Watson Dunn, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

A native of Bloomington, Illinois, he was the son of the late Bill Dunn and Ada Marie Thompson Dunn.

Mr. Dunn retired from the IRS after 27 years and served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 43 years, include three children: Brandy M. (Stephen) Vernoer of Gogart, Eric C. (Hope) Dunn of Auburn, Alisha G. Jones of Watkinsville; sisters, Debby (Benny) Register of Eatonton, Becky (Peter) Kuevoets, Connie Holt of Kennesaw and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was held March 24, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Lord & Stephens West with Pastor Tony Vismor officiating.

Mike will be greatly missed by his aunt Vivian Folmar, uncle Travis Dunn and his family and friends in Frankston.

Mike Moody

Services for Mike Moody, 67, of Berryville, were held Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Lindley officiating.

Burial followed at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Moody passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

He was born Oct. 5, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Charles and Lavonne Moody.

He graduated from North Lake College.

Mike spent nearly 40 years in the heating and air conditioning industry, most recently holding the position of territory sales manager with Gemaire in Tyler.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles and mother, Lavonne.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Sue Moody of Berryville; his son Aaron, his wife Carla and their two children Declan and Delaney of Euless; his son Ryan, his wife Amy and their three children Ella, Rhett and Theodore of San Antonio; and his son Sean of Riverside, CA; his brother Greg and his wife Mary of North Richland Hills and their two children Bob and Dan; his sister Marilyn of North Richland Hills; his brother Pat and his wife Bonnie of Fort Worth and their four children Melissa, Nathan, Michelle and Madison.

Pallbearers were Phil Rutledge, Danny Pullen, Greg Moody, Pat Moody, Terry Hubbard, Drew Campbell, Mike Stevens and Jim Morgan.

Charlene Wilson

A funeral service for Charlene Wilson, 89, of Frankston, was held Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Bro. Don Canter and Hershel Bearden officiating. She was laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, in Frankston.

Charlene was born November 12, 1927, in Frankston to Joe and Nina (Beard) Welch. She was a lifelong resident of Frankston and member of Church of Christ in Frankston. Charlene graduated from Frankston High School and attended business college. She was married to “Snooky” for 64 years.

She loved traveling, genealogy and excelled in crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James “Snooky” Wilson; sister, Mildred Dickerson; and a brother, Troy Jack Welch.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mike Wilson and wife Joan of Richardson; brother, Phillip Welch of Frankston; and sister, Genova Christian of Longview. She is also survived by grandchildren, Melanie Wilson Trevino and husband Alex, Matthew Ryan Wilson and wife Danielle; and great-grandchildren, Blake Trevino and Brooke Trevino.

Pallbearers were John Christian, Keith Christian, Joe Dale Dickerson, Phil Welch, Scott Welch and Larry Lloyd.
