Kevin King officiating, under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mr. Shewmake died Friday, Sept. 1, at his residence. He was born July 14, 1963 in Eldorado, Ark. He worked in sales and marketing of Home Health Care, and was a member of United Methodist Church, Frankston. Mr. Shewmake was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Shewmake. Sept. 14, 2000 Edition Lester Boyd Rodgers Funeral services for Lester Boyd Rodgers, 64, of Frankston, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston, with the Revs. George Folmar and Larry Bewley officiating. Burial was in Garden Oaks Memorial Park, Berryville. Mr. Rodgers died Sunday, Sept. 10, in a Tyler hospital He was born Jan. 13, 1936 in Columbus, TX. Mr. Rodgers was a highway contractor with Lester Rodgers Co., Inc. and a Lutheran. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Rodgers, in 1957. Sept. 21, 2000 Edition Henry Leland Thurston Funeral services for Henry Leland Thurston, 78, of Frankston were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with the Rev. Gene Tanner officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery, Van Zandt County. Mr. Thurston died Monday, Sept. 11, in Dallas. He was born March 26, 1922 in the Whitton Community to the late Edward Glen Thurston Sr. and Lillie Turner Thurston. Mr. Thurston attended school in the Whitton, Jackson and Old Bethel areas and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years before joining the Coast Guard, where he served three years. He moved to Dallas and worked for Chance Vought Aircraft Co. for 22 years, then owned and operated Raylite Candle Co. in Frankston until retiring in 1984. Mr. Thurston was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Mesquite. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Elaine and Richard Gaston, Austin; daughter, Denise Laraine Newton, Grand Prairie; five grandchildren, Dustin Bradley Roberts, Jason Phillip Roberts and Spencer Gaston, all of Austin, Aubrey Larine Newton and Damian Daniel Newton, both of Dallas; a brother, Edward Glen Thurston Jr. of Edgewood; a sister, Agnes Fay Curry of Dallas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a homemaker and a Licensed Vocational Nurse, working for Doctors Crawford, Rucker and Bone in Jacksonville. Mrs. Beard was a member of Frankston United Methodist Church in Frankston. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Lee Beard of Frankston, Ken Elvin Beard of Hondo and James Milton Beard of Frankston; one brother, Charles Ezell of Tyler; eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Collins died Sunday, Sept. 24, in a Frankston nursing home. She was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Poynor to the late Jerry and Louise Boles Roberts. Mrs. Collins was a beautician in Beaumont and then for S&H Kress in Tyler, and was assistant supervisor of the luncheon counter in Dallas from 1952 until retirement. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Frankston. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Dr. J. Lewis Warren, Scottsbluff, Neb.; brothers, Darrell Roberts, Corsicana, and Wilburn Roberts, Poynor; sisters, Jane Perry, Center, and Jean Chappell, Overton; one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Lester Boyd Rodgers, 64, of Frankston, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston, with the Revs. George Folmar and Larry Bewley officiating.

Mr. Rodgers died Sunday, Sept. 10, in a Tyler hospital

Funeral services for Henry Leland Thurston, 78, of Frankston were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with the Rev. Gene Tanner officiating.

Mr. Thurston died Monday, Sept. 11, in Dallas.

Memorial services for Diana E. Crawford, 66, of Frankston, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, Frankston, with the Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating.

Mrs. Crawford died Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Frankston.

She was born July 19, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Frankston for 10 years. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Crawford, Frankston; sister, Vicky Mumma; five sons; three daughters; 22 grandchildren and one-great-grandchild.

Willie Mae Beard

Graveside services for Willie Mae Beard, 83, of Frankston were held at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, with Revs. Bob Waldman and Kevin King officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.

Memorial services were at 5 p.m. at the Frankston United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Beard died Saturday, Sept. 23, in a Tyler hospice.
