Jean Waldman

Graveside services for Jean Waldman, age 85 of Hideaway, Texas, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at Lakeview Cemetery just south of Palestine with Pastor Michael Peschke officiating.

Jean passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 in Tyler.

She was born Nov. 1, 1934 in San Antonio to the late John and Bertha (Mitchell) Belohlavek. While in San Antonio Jean graduated third in her class at Harlendale High School and was also first chair clarinet in the band.

Jean has lived in Hideaway for the last 20 years and was previously of Bascom, Frankston, and Canton. When in Frankston, Jean’s husband, the Rev. Bob Waldman, was pastor of The United Methodist Church of Frankston from June 1993 to June 1998.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lindale, the PEO Women’s Group, and worked as a Southwestern Bell Representative for 19 years and also worked as an administrative assistant for various schools.

Jean enjoyed shopping, playing Mahjong competitively, spending time with her loving family, and the occasional trip to Shreveport and Oklahoma. Jean was maybe best known to be a perfectionist as everything she did was very organized and conducted with class.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Johnnie Stuart and Marjorie Robbins, and her brother, Charles Belohlavek.

Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Waldman of Hideaway, Texas; daughters, Karen Waldman of Mesquite,  and Kathy Waldman of North Richland Hills; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. As a Covid-19 precaution masks are required at all visitations and services.

Jackie Sharp

Jackie Sharp, born Nov. 25, 1942 to Jack and Ollie (Humphrey) Welton, entered eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020. She was 77 years old.

A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 at Poynor Cemetery in Poynor. Pastor Paul Diepenbruck will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

She was a homemaker and the owner of Four Seasons Flower Shop in Frankston for several years. She was loved and respected dearly by her community. Jackie’s family and friends meant the world to her. Most of them lovingly knew her as Mimi.

She knew how to make everyone feel special. She loved to garden and spend time outdoors taking in nature. She spent her days taking care of her dogs and advocating for animals.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Sharp family from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at Poynor Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Joseph and Mark Welton.

Left to cherish Jackie’s memory are her beloved husband of 59 years, Tommy Sharp of Poynor; son, Tommy Sharp Jr. and wife Shellie of Poynor; daughter, Jill Dellinger of Poynor; sister, Barbara Boney of Houston; and brother, Raymond Welton and wife Suzette of Greenville. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Brittany Sharp, Aubrey Alexander and husband J.D., and Samuel Dellinger; two great-grandchildren, Jaxyn and Stella, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra F. Latham

A graveside service for Debra F. Latham is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 at Frankston City Cemetery. Bro. George Folmar will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Born Feb. 6, 1939 to Duel and Lavada (Fletcher) Tarrant, she entered eternal life on Aug. 28, 2020. She was 81 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Renee Arnwine; and grandchild, Devon Brooke Bettes.

Left to cherish Debra’s memory are her sons, Barry Bettes of Palestine, Randy Bettes of Bryan, and Jay Bettes of Houston. Her siblings are Jarrett Tarrant, Roger Tarrant and Sharon B. Harrison. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bobbie Williamson Brown

Bobbie Williamson Brown, born Dec. 17, 1935 to Robert and Mary Williamson, entered eternal life on September 7, 2020. She was 84 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Wayne Barber and a brother, Joe Wayne Williamson.

Left to cherish Bobbie’s memory are her sons, Robert Barber and wife Lisa of Tyler, Gary Don Barber of Frankston; her brothers, Kenneth Carl Williamson of Lake Fork and David Glenn Williamson of CA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family get together will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Chapel in Frankston at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020. Bro. George Folmar will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Kenneth Reynolds

Funeral services for Kenneth Reynolds 91, of New York, Texas have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 15, 2020 at New York Baptist Church with Bro. Olin Boles officiating under the direction of Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens.

Burial will follow at New York Cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds was born May 17, 1929 in New York, Texas to the late Wes and Helen Holly Reynolds. He was a longtime member of New York Baptist Church. In his early days Kenneth lived in Irving and was owner and operator of Reynolds Properties. He served on the Irving City Council where he was involved in the construction of the original Texas Stadium. Upon retirement in 1993, he and his family moved back to the ranch in New York, Texas where he continued ranching which he truly loved. He loved to spend time with his family and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He loved playing with his granddaughter Kambri which had stolen his heart. Kenneth loved his church and was a loving Christian man who would help anyone who needed help.

Pallbearers will be Nicky Reynolds, Ron Reynolds, Levi Reynolds, Will Reynolds, Seth Douglas and T.J. Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Almon, Fibber McGee, John Henry Reynolds, John Mark Reynolds, Dewey Reynolds, Lanny Reynolds and Jerry Douglas.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Billy Jack Reynolds

Funeral services for Billy Jack Reynolds, 93, of LaRue have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at LaRue Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Wilkins and Rev. Olin Boles officiating, under the direction of Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens.

Burial will follow at LaRue Cemetery.

Billy Jack passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 in Tyler.

Billy Jack was born on Aug. 18, 1927 in Van Zandt County to the late John Thomas Reynolds and Ethel E. Bates. Billy grew up in Henderson County between Athens and Eustace in the Stockard Community. He graduated from Athens High School and then joined the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He had administrative skills that placed him is stateside service until his discharge from the newly formed United States Air Force.

Billy married a young lady from Athens whom he had known from his school days, Margarette Ann. They were married on June 7, 1952 and began raising their family in Houston.

He was employed by Humble Oil Company for 38 years. He worked his way up to a Landman position and retired from what is now known as Exxon Company, USA. He worked in Houston, Tyler, and Dallas during his time with Exxon.

Billy loved His Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member of a Baptist church wherever he lived. He taught Sunday school, loved babies in the nursery and served as a Deacon and anywhere else he was needed until his health began to fail.

Upon his retirement, Billy and Ann built a home and moved to LaRue to a quiet, peaceful hilltop. There he spent his time raising cows and hay, gardening, swinging on porch swings, and hosting family visits and reunions. He was  proud to carry the Reynolds name and enjoyed getting to know his cousins in the New York and LaRue area. His grandchildren know this place as PawPaws house and fondly remember “Cow Rides”, otherwise known as tractor rides, out in the cow pasture during family reunions. For a country boy, turned city man, he returned to the country where he was a well-liked, respected, friendly part of his community. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched, especially, his wife of 68 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Ethel E. Reynolds, his son David Walter Reynolds, grandsons Jordan Winkler and John David Reynolds, also his sisters Vesta Lee Hogue, Fern Dixon, Faye Umphress and his brother J.L. Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years Margarette Ann Hughes Reynolds of LaRue; two daughters, Lenora Ann Winkler and husband Steve of Tuttle, Okla., and Laura Jane Oncken and husband John of Columbus, TX; two sons, John Hughes Reynolds and wife Valerie of Huffman, TX and Bradley Jay Reynolds of Abilene; six grandchildren, Leah Reynolds Kesseler, Rachel Oncken Phillips, Breynna Winkler Dalrymple, Sarah Oncken, Kaitlyn Rose Reynolds, and Jacob Stewart Reynolds; and four great-grandchildren, Madison Reynolds, William Phillips, Samuel Phillips, and Jordyn Dalrymple.

Pallbearers will be James Lee Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Billy Joe Hughes, Mike Hughes, Jeff Shumate and Wesley Hughes.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that those attending  please wear a mask or facial covering.

Lorene Udell Howeth

Lorene Udell Howeth, age 99, went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on Sept. 17, 2020.

Lorene was born Oct. 16, 1920 to Seaborn Boyd and Deanie Victoria (Hughes) Kitchens in Poynor. Lorene grew up in Poynor and was a graduate of LaPoynor High School. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Harley Donald Howeth and moved back home temporarily while he served in North Africa in WWII.

Lorene and Harley lived and worked in Dallas and maintained a separate home in Athens where she later retired from J.C. Penney regional headquarters.

Lorene was a dedicated servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Athens where she loved serving others, singing in the Joy Choir and delivering her delicious pies to anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Harley Donald Howeth; parents, Deanie and Seaborn Kitchens; sister, Joyce (Kitchens) Baker and brother, Joe B. Kitchens.

She is survived by her sister Lynda Echols Cole, Athens; niece, Tenna Underhill, Athens; nephew Jason Echols and wife Jodi, Athens; great nieces, nephews and close friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Athens. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Ida Jo Mitchell

Ida Jo Mitchell, born June 30, 1929 to Jesse and Johnnie (Bridges) Black, entered eternal life on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. She was 91 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Frankston. Mrs. Mitchell will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Ida’s family from 4 to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Ida was an active member of First Baptist Church in Frankston. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and loved singing. She loved her family and delighted in cooking and baking for them. In her free time, she tended to her vegetable and flower gardens, sewed and quilted. She enjoyed traveling, camping, antique shopping, and spending time in Branson, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and adopted mother Verda Denning. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Mitchell; a son, David Lynn Mitchell; a daughter, Patricia Jo Rogers; sister, Georgia Hudson and a brother, Kenneth Green.

Left to cherish Ida’s memory are her son-in-law, Doyle Rogers of Crane; daughters, Diane Beard and husband Larry of Frankston, Delight Bristow and husband Wayne of Poynor, and Theresa Jennings and husband W.T. of Bullard. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mickey Rogers and wife Stacey, Monty Rogers and wife Jodi, Amanda Beard, Stacy James and husband Chance, Cody Bristow and wife Wendy, Penny Singletary and husband Michael, Brian Jennings and wife Jessica, and Darla Foreman and husband Christopher; 20 great-grandchildren, Madison, Dallas, and Brock Rogers, Ryne, Kole and Kelsi Rogers, Emma, Sadie and Ruthie James, Hudson and Evan Bristow, Jhett Johnson, Cole and Danielle Singletary, Sawyer, Sutton Mae and Shepard Jennings, Claire, Lucy and Charles Foreman, and numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Her grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers.

Judy Kay (Jaggers) Taylor

Judy Kay (Jaggers) Taylor, born July 20, 1946 to Garland and Dean (Hutson) Jaggers, entered eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020. She was 74 years old.

A graveside service is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020 at Frankston City Cemetery. Brother George Folmar will officiate.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Taylor family from 3 to 5 o’clock in the afternoon at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Judy was a beloved elementary school teacher for over 40 years at Frankston, Jacksonville, Westwood, Neches, and Elkhart ISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 50 years, John Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Paul Taylor of Gladewater; her daughter, Laurie Adams and husband Randy of Frankston; brother, Tommy Jaggers and wife Brenda of Frankston; and brothers-in-law, Windal Lindsey and wife Mary Jane of Mt. Juanita Bird

Juanita Bird, born May 6, 1929 to William and Mattie (Briley) Simmons, entered eternal life on Sept. 24, 2020. She was 91 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Rev. Scott Wiley will officiate. Juanita will be laid to rest in Frankston City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Clyde Bird; grandson, Brian Cooper; brothers Ray, James Joel and John Simmons and a sister, Louise Rosengren.

Left to cherish Juanita’s memory are her children, Jerry Bird, Mike Bird and wife Janie and Ray Bird, all of Frankston and daughter, Beverly Scheppler and husband Bud of Bradford. She is also survived by a brother, Karl Simmons of Fredericksburg; sisters, Faye Smith of Houston, Linda Glynn of Pasadena and Jackie Mudd of Round Rock; 11 grandchildren: Tiffany, Emily, Erica, Becky, Beth, Dustin, Drew, Brandy, Shawn, Kris and Belinda; 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Bird, Drew Bird, Brandy Bird, Kris Bird, Braxton Bird, Kolby Cooper, Chase Cooper and Tracy Durham.

Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Bird, Bryce Burris, Luke Adkison, Grant Bird, James Sarver, Tom Spears and Cody Mohan.
