Danny Joe Parker

Graveside services for Danny Joe Parker, 58, of Frankston, were held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Muse Cemetery near Grapeland under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Parker passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, in Tyler.

He was born June 27, 1956, in Dallas to Willie and Nancy Copeland Parker.

One of his hobbies was fishing.

Danny’s family includes his children Chad and Crystal Pierce of Whitehouse, Danny and Tiffani Parker of Whitehouse, Eric and Shannon Parker of Arp, and Nicole Parker and Josh Mennie of Frankston; two brothers Harold Parker and wife Leona of Tyler, and Buddy Parker; two sisters Flora Parker of Tool and Betty Parker of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren Dylan Pierce, Devin Pierce, Cassidy Pierce, Braden Parker, Pierce Parker, Nolan Parker, Savannah Hawkins, Sheyenne Hawkins, Kylie Hawkins, Matilyn Parker, Braxton Mennie and Wyatt Mennie.

Frances M. Beard

Graveside services for Frances M. Beard, 86, Tyler, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Liberty Hill Cemetery, with Bro. Tony Watson offi ciating.

She passed away on Oct. 1, 2014, in Tyler. She was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Gillham, Arkansas to the late James Lawrence Small and Annabell Lee Lassiter Small.

She had lived in Tyler two years, moving from Frankston and was a home- maker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dover Bruce Beard, Sr.; four sisters; one brother; and two grandchildren, Michelle and Christopher Tinney. Survivors include her children Glenda Joyce Brumley of Winona, Dover Bruce Beard, Jr. of Arkansas, Deanna Lee Paul of Longview, William Minor Beard of Mesquite, Joe Dale Beard of Frankston and Barbara Elaine Skrobinski of Tyler; brother James Lawrence Small Jr. of Seadrift; and Mary Sue Blevins of Seadrift; eleven grandchildren Teri Dixon, Nelson Brumley, Thomas Brumley, Jennifer Beard, Kerry Beard, Jessica Rosser, Elizabeth Driver, Matthew Beard, Tiffanie Beasley, Christopher Paul and Randy Paul; and great-grandchildren Emily Riddle, Amanda Alexander, Rebecca Mayes, Kayla Huckleby, Zachery Brumley, Cameron Kinser, Steven Robinson, William Woods, Dakota Paul, William Driver, Johnathan Driver, Abigal Beard, Nathan Beard, Kaydence Beasley, Charde Paul and Montrey Paul; and great-great grandchildren Alora Beth Riddle, Caleeanna Riddle, Braison Spain, Lily Alexander, Eliana Huckleby; sister-in-law Zeffi e Beard; and brother-in-law Marcus Blevins.

Roger A. Vance

Roger A. Vance, 100, of Palestine, went to be with The Lord Monday, Oct. 6, 2014. He was born in Salmon Community on Aug. 16, 1914, to Sidney Franklin Vance and Laura Alice Dillard Vance.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Anna Cook Vance as well as his siblings, Ollie Ledbet- ter, Frank Vance, Grace Porter, Houston Vance, Venice Vance, Virel Vance and stillborn twins.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where through the years he served as secretary, trustee, and music director.

During World War II, he served in the 94th Infan- try 319th Engineer Combat Battalion, receiving 4 battle stars for campaigns in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He founded Vance Bros. Auto Parts in 1948 with his brothers Frank and Virel Vance.

He is survived by his son James Sidney Vance and wife Penny Vance; grandchildren Adam Vance and wife Kristin Vance, Laura Dixon and husband Matthew Dixon, and great-grandchildren Emma Dixon, Olivia Dixon, and Collin Vance.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Dixon, Adam Vance, Benny Vance, Bryan Vance, Danny Vance, and Emerson Vance. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Palestine with Pastor Charles McNeal and Richard Hinton officiating.

Burial will follow in Guiceland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine. In lieu of fl owers, donations can be made to BEAMS Bible Ministries, at P.O. Barbara Lee Hinkle

Barbara Lee Hinkle, 73, passed away Oct. 19, 2014, in Burleson.

The service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Barbara was born March 31, 1941, in Corsicana to Robert Corra and Minnie Shue Travis.

She was a giving and loving Mama and Nanny. Barbara was a licensed vocational nurse since 1976 and retired in 2011.

She was a member of First Assembly of God in Crowley.

She was a former nurse at the Frankston Health Care Center. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Eugene Hinkle; parents; and brother Thomas (Jack) Jackson Travis. Survivors include her daughters Sheree Hill and husband Ron of Oklahoma City, Angela Flores and husband Chris of Burleson; grandchildren Travis Kleypas, Matthew and Michael Flores, Tabitha, Ryan, Jacob and Aimee Hill; brother Robert Travis and wife Ginnie of Longview; sister Annell Pearson and husband Doyle of Burleson; sister-in-law Betty Travis of Forney and extended family and friends.

Helen Edith Baumgardner Carter

Helen Edith Baumgardner Carter passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at the age of 100 years young with her daughter Carolyn and caregiver, Bernadeth beside her.

She was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ray and Edith Corey Winchester Baumgardner.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl William Carter; parents Ray and Edith Baumgardner; infant son Don Edward Carter; brothers Robert, Richard and Carl Edward Baumgardner; grandson Cody Ray Carter and son-in-law Danny Lynn Duggan.

She is survived by sons David Carter and wife Shirley, William G. “Bill” Carter and Pamela Carter; daughter Carolyn Carter Duggan; grandchildren Michael Shreves, J. Brian Duggan and wife Karla, Ginger Carter James and husband David, William Jordan Carter and wife Andrea Cruz; great granddaughters Isabella, Sofia and Luciana Duggan, and Jordyn Mae Carter; numerous nieces and nephews; and her life-long friends Mary Robertson and husband Lawrence, Sue Surrena and husband Ray.

When she was a very young child, her family moved from Indiana to Dallas, where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Southern Methodist University before working in a law office. She also worked for Dallas Independent School District, the United States Postal Service, and was a very talented seamstress.

She was an active member of Prairie Creek Baptist Church, Bruton Road Christian Church and The Lowery Organ Club when she lived in Dallas. Then in 1999, she moved to Berryville, Texas.

Some of her favorite activities include her love of music, playing the piano, organ, ukulele, knitting, crocheting, painting, sewing and gardening.

She played many roles in life and one of her greatest was being known as “mom” to everyone she met.

The visitation for Mrs. Carter was Oct. 20, 2014, followed by the service at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. The interment was at Restland Memorial Cemetery in Dallas.

The family would like to give a special "thank you" to her caregiver Bernadeth Bryant and the professional caring staff from Hospice of East Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas or Meals on Wheels in Frankston for all their wonderful help.

Jenita Jane Johnson

Funeral services for Jenita Jane Johnson, 92, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin and the Rev. Scott Wiley officiating. Interment was at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, in Frankston.

She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Frankston to James and Jennie Belle Moren.

Jenita was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankston and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Johnson and sister Byllie Dove Beard.

Survivors include her son Alan Johnson and wife Penny of Frankston; grandchildren Cherie Nicole Johnson of Tyler, Zachary Johnson and wife Samantha of Frankston; great-grandchildren Blaine and Wade Johnson of Frankston; and niece Suzetta Smith and husband David of Frankston.

Pallbearers were Dana Bizzell, Mark Bostick, Elmer Gene Birdwell, Harry Smith, Johnny Wheeler, and James B. Hyde.

Honorary pallbearers were Scott Welch, Jeff Helm, Larry Lloyd, Les Boles, Johnny Wofford, Quint House, Johnny L. Taylor, Billy Bacon, Doyle Smith, Joe Dale Dickerson, and Wayne Bristow.

Sarah Morgan

Funeral services for Sarah Morgan, 89, of Frankston, were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Pastors Scott Wiley and Ron Ivey officiating. Graveside services were Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Clyde Cemetery in Clyde, Texas. Owen Sharp officiated.

Mrs. Morgan passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, in Tyler.

She was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Gatesville, Texas, to Owen J. and Rosie Dossey Sharp.

Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston, and also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed her time with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Charlie Patterson and Jim Morgan; and two brothers Marvin and Toney Sharp.

Survivors include her son Paul Patterson of Frankston; daughters Jennifer Whitley and husband John; and Virginia Stewart and husband John, all of Frankston; brother George Sharp and wife Shirley of Nugent; six grandchildren Kyle Dezern and wife Sarah, Jake Dezern and wife Jessica, Sarah Richard and husband Jacob, Brandi Malone and husband Jason, Stacy Rains and husband Rodney and Steven Whitley; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Kyle Dezern, Rodney Rains, Jake Dezern, Jason Malone, Steven Whitley, John Whitley and Isaac Richard.

The family of Sarah Morgan wishes to thank Hospice of East Texas for their devotion and care.
