Bonnie Samples

Funeral services for Bonnie Samples, 88, of Frankston, were held Monday, Sept. 28, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with the Rev. Jean Kriel officiating.

Burial followed at Garden Oaks Cemetery, Berryville.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Samples passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 in Tyler.

She was born August 30, 1921 in Quinlan to George and Scena Lynch.

She was a Baptist, and had worked in retail sales.

Survivors include her son, Doyle Samples of Quinlan; daughters, Linda Rodgers and Elaine Gray of Frankston; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dwayne Langford, Alton Rodgers, Justin Gray, Austin Gray, Kenneth Pinson, Norman Hallmark, Doyle Samples, Jr., and Doug Samples.

Louise Tidmore

Services for Louise Tidmore, 86, of Tyler, were held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at First Baptist Church in Tyler with Dr. Paul Powell and the Rev. Pat Mallory officiating.

Burial followed in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tidmore passed away, Sunday, September 27, 2009.

She was born December 28, 1922 in Henderson County to R.G. and Angie Godwin.

Mrs. Tidmore graduated from Martins Mill schools and worked at Hollywood Vasarette in Athens and Levis Strauss in Tyler. Before retiring, she worked at First Baptist Church in Tyler, where she was a member for 39 years. She worked in the daycare where she was known as Mrs. Lou.

Mrs.Tidmore was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert, Jr. and Archie Albert Godwin; three sisters, Ann Edwards, Nina Ray Lewis and Mary Lee Lisbony.

Louise is survived by her loving family including her husband of 67 years, D.J. Tidmore; sons, Robert Tidmore and wife Linda, and James Tidmore and wife Judy; daughter, Kathy Womack and husband Bobby; sisters, Obera Waters and husband Eldon, Joy Wright and husband Burl, and Loy Jackson and husband Jamie; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Bryant Tidmore, Michael Tidmore, Brad Womack, J.R. Newman, Logan Newman, Kyle Tidmore, Lance Ellis and Jess Satterwhite.

Beulah ‘Boots” McClaran

Funeral services for Beulah “Boots” McClaran, 82, of Frankston, were Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Frankston with the Rev. G. C. Folmar officiating.

Burial followed at New Emmaus Cemetery in New Summerfield.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. McClaran passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 in Tyler.

She was born March 12, 1927 in Troup, to Percy Walker Birdwell and Eva Crum Birdwell.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston and was a retired assembly worker at Frankston Box Co.

Survivors include her son, Larry Lloyd and wife Ann of Frankston; daughters Dena Gracey and husband Alton of Poynor, Barbara Hitt of Richardson and Belinda Dickerson of Frankston; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Sonny Stripling, Josh Browne, Jimmy Gracey, Barrett Lloyd, Robbie Dore and Eddie Birdwell.

Terry Dale Welch

Funeral services for Terry Dale Welch, 68, of Frankston, were held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Frankston with the Rev. Grover Talbert officiating.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Welch passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Tyler.

He was born June 8, 1941 in Noonday, to Weldon Louvie Welch and Mary Elizabeth Welch.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankston, served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a RN.

Mr. Welch loved Southern Gospel music and played the piano and sang.

Mr. Welch is preceded in death by his father, Weldon Louvie Welch; mother, Mary Elizabeth Rhodes; and grandparents.

Survivors include wife, Nelda Kay Welch of Frankston; sons, Brent Welch and wife Janet of Georgetown and Brennan Welch and wife Nadia of San Juan, Puerto Rico; daughters, Tara Welch of Tyler and Kara Welch of Frankston; sisters, Elizabeth Crow Thompson and husband Dennis of Van and Delores Hopkins of Picayune, Miss.; brothers, Jack Welch and wife Darlene of Plant City, Fla. and Gail Welch of Palestine; seven grandchildren, Walker, Wyatt, Seth, Kelsey, Caleb, Kala and Althea; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Johnny Burks, Travis King, David Brown, Dennis Collier, Michael Collier, Michael Cooper, Nickey Crow and Bill Hyde.

Maybell Adams

Graveside services for Maybell Adams, 97, of Brownsboro, were held Sunday, Sept. 27, at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Adams passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 in Chandler.

She was born May 11, 1912 in Frankston, to George L. Henderson, Jr. and Leora Overton Henderson.

She was a Baptist and retired inspector for R.L. Davis.

Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her husband, Mindrell Adams; son, Billy Adams and grandson, Larry Adams.

Survivors include son, John Adams and wife Alla of Brownsboro; sisters, Evelyn Mayo and Myrtle George, both of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack D. Mullican

Funeral services for Jack D. Mullican, 83, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Oct. 4, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. Larry Bewley officiating.

Burial followed at Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville.

Mr. Mullican passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in Tyler.

He was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Bristol, Texas, to John Layfette Mullican and Dovie Mae Fowler Mullican.

He was a Baptist, served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Waco, Blue Lodge and Shriners. He worked as a forklift driver at Trane and circulation manager at Palestine Herald Press.

Mr. Mullican is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Mullican and sister, Marie Rhodes.

Survivors include wife of 43 years, Sallie Mullican of Frankston; son, Michael D. Mullican and wife Norma of Montalba; daughters, Jackie Waldon and husband Jerry of Montalba, Patricia Giglotto of Bellville, IL and Debra Jo Crow of Willis; brother, Sammy Mullican and wife Maxine of Palestine; special friend Jody of Frankston; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mr. Mullican’s grandsons.

Ronald E. Waser

Funeral services for Rev. Ronald E. Waser, 63, of Frankston are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with the Rev Timothy E. Wasser officiating.

Mr. Waser passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, in Frankston.

He was born May 16, 1946 in Teneck, New Jersey to Werner Frank Wasser and Carrie Kendell Wasser.

Mr. Waser was a retired minister of 25 years with the World Wide Pentecostal Fellowship. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Janet of Frankston; son, Rev. Timothy E Wasser and wife Julie of Frankston; daughter, Kristen Waser and husband Chris of Berryville; grandchildren, Abigail and Bethany Waser, and Caleb and Meredith Ward; prayer partner, Dale Snow; and special family friend Nancy Petterson of Frankston.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Horace Millard Morton

Horace Millard Morton passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Houston. His family was with him at the time of his death.

Horace was born on Feb. 25, 1927 in Fairoaks Community, Limestone County, Texas to Claud C. and Pearl Gibson Morton.

He received his schooling at Fairoaks High School near his home, and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville before serving in the United States Army during World War II and with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He remained a Patriotic Veteran the rest of his life, very proud of his service to his country. He was a plant operator for Petrotex Chemical in Houston where he made his home until his retirement to his farm in Poynor. He was active in the First Baptist Church of Frankston, William Foster Lodge No. 312 in Frankston, Frankston Chapter No. 1113, where he served as secretary; Fairfield Chapter No. 331, serving as Worthy Patron, Order of the Eastern Star, and was involved in many other Chapters in District 1, Section 6.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 28 years, Dorothy Presley Bauhoff Morton in 2006, brothers; Weldon, Cary (Bud), Francis, Jack and Albert and sisters, Margaret and Geraldine.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Hubert and Marilyn Morton of Houston; grandsons Lee Morton and wife Kelly, Jay Morton and Kate Ryan and granddaughter Sara Anice Morton and Rick Manuel, all of Houston. Additional survivors include brother and wife Donald Ray and Linda Morton of Fairoaks, Limestone County, Texas and sister Claudette Morton Williams of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters-in-law Lillie Morton of Georgetown, Virginia “Jinks” Morton of Frankston, Ann Morton of Huffman, and Linda Morton (Jack) of Carthage, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his Fraternal Family of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Services were held under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Visitation was held Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, at the First Baptist Church of Frankston with services following at the church at 12:30 p.m. with close friend Joe Johnston from William Foster Lodge No. 312 in Frankston.

Burial was held at Oakes Cemetery located on the Family Farm in Limestone County, Texas, community of Fairoaks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

James Harrington, Sr.

Funeral services for James Brice Harrington Sr., 88, of Frankston were held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston.

Burial followed in the Frankston City Cemetery with the Rev. George Folmar and the Rev. Steve Palmer officiating.

Mr. Harrington was born in Miller County Arkansas on Dec. 31, 1920 and died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 in Tyler.

He had lived in the Frankston area since 1981 after retiring from Shell Oil as a training coordinator for 37 years. He had also served in the Army during WWII and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Opal M. Harrington of Frankston; daughters, Abbie Gail and husband John Beasley of Frankston, and Marceil Guillott of Frankston; son, James Brice Harrington, Jr. and wife Katmini of Frankston; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Carson, Weldon and Raymond Harrington.

Ronald E. Waser

Funeral services for Rev. Ronald E. Waser, 63, of Frankston were held Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston with the Rev Timothy E. Waser officiating.

Mr. Waser passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, in Frankston.
