Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

James ‘Snooky’ Wilson

Funeral services for James “Snooky” Wilson, 84, of Frankston, were held Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston, with Hershel Bearden and Don Canter officiating.

Burial was held at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, in Jacksonville.

He was born February 24, 1927 in Wills Point.

Mr. Wilson was a retired pipeliner and a farmer. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of the Frankston Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Henry and Cora Belle Wilson, two sisters, and eight brothers.

Survivors include his wife Charlene of Frankston; son Mike Wilson and wife Joan of Richardson; granddaughter Melanie Trevino and husband Alex of McKinney; grandson Matthew Wilson of Richardson; and two great-grandchildren Blake and Brooke Trevino of McKinney.

Pallbearers were Keith Christian, John Christian, Joe Dale Dickerson, Ron Porter, Jerry Boles and Scott Welch.

Memorials in honor of “Snooky” may be made to the Frankston Depot Library, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Elaine Savage

Memorial services for Mrs. Elaine Savage are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Lake Area Church in Frankston with Pastor James Farmer officiating.

Mrs. Savage passed away at the age of 71 on October 26, 2011, from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

Elaine Savage was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Santa Rosa, Calif. to the late William and Alma Vece Whitton.

She once taught 3rd and 4th grade at Lighthouse Baptist School in Frankston and was a homemaker. Elaine enjoyed a full and exciting life with her family while living in Arizona, California, Iowa, and Texas.

She and her husband Don lived in Warsaw Poland for almost a year and she wrote extensively about the experience. Elaine was a vibrant, outgoing woman who leaves family and friends with so many great memories. We are forever grateful for everything she did to bring life to our family. We were blessed to have her and it was an honor to call her wife and Mom. Mrs. Savage is fi nally home and pain free. She has been reunited with her youngest son, Sam Savage and several brothers and sisters in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her husband Don L. Savage of Frankston; son Don B. Savage of Van; daughter-in- law Susi Savage of Van, daughter-in-law Sandee Savage of Elmendorf, Texas; and sister Jean Cox of Fallon, NV; six grandchildren Kourtney Martinez, Melissa Martinez, Donna Elaine Savage, Renata Savage, Cody Martinez, and Jacob Savage.

Ruby Milner Grayson

Funeral services for Ruby Anita Milner “Grandmother” Grayson, 85, of Poynor, were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, with ministers Steve Handley and Roland Alsobrook officiating.

Burial was held at Poynor Cemetery.

Mrs. Grayson passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 in Tyler.

She was born March 4, 1926 in Poynor.

Mrs. Grayson worked for Douglas aircraft during WWII and she owned NR ceramics and Ruby’s Minis.

Mrs. Grayson worked as an assembly line worker for Curtis Mathis. She worked at the Poynor Tomato Shed, she was a charter/life member of Frankston VFW Post No. 5073 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of LaPoynor Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Milner and Flora Milner; brothers Darrell and Raymond Milner; sister Dorothy Jones; sister-in-law Adelaide Milner; brother-in-law Robert Jones; brother-in-law Elzie Holliman; sister-in- law Iris Milner; and grandson Kevin Grayson.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lloyd Grayson; son Tommy Grayson and wife Lois; sister Lois O. Atchison all of Poynor; three grandchildren Thomas and wife Angela, Nathan and wife Angela, Anita (Ange) and husband Eddie; two great-grandsons; 11 great-granddaughters; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were be Nathan Grayson, Thomas Grayson, Anita Grayson Watts, Ray Alsobrook, Randy Parker and Ryan Alsobrook.
