Geraldine Sauerhage

Geraldine Sauerhage, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007.

Geraldine Standerfer was born Oct. 14, 1935, at Good Samaritan Hospital in East St. Louis, Il. She graduated from East St. Louis High School in 1953 and was a member of the National Honor Society.

On June 9, 1956, Gerry married Floyd Sauerhage in East St. Louis, which began their 52 years of marriage. They had three sons, Dennis, Mike and John, also born at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Geraldine was a wonderful mother and homemaker and was very proud of her service to the community. She worked with Meals-on-Wheels in Arlington, Texas for over 10 years.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; Chalon and Mary, her brothers; John and Chester, and sister; Mary Jean.

Gerry is survived by her husband; Floyd of Berryville, Texas, sons; Dennis and wife Marie of Rising Sun, Indiana, Mike and wife Vicki of Ft. Worth, John and wife Lisa of Arlington, six grandchildren; Nathan, Caitlin, Maggie, Shannon, Erin and Bridgett and two nieces; Donna and Debbie.

Funeral services were scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Frankston. Interment was to follow at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Lane B.

Imogene Dansby

Graveside services for Imogene Dansby, 84, of Frankston were scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Frankston City Cemetery with the Revs. Mark Norman and Harry Noble officiating and under direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. Burial was to follow at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Dansby died Oct. 27, 2007 in Tyler.

She was born Dec.19, 1922 in Hanna, OK. She was a homemaker and was a former Sunday School Teacher at Poynor Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard “Dickey” and Geneze Dansby, Jim “Bo” and Becky Dansby both of Tyler; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Dansby of Chandler; a brother, James Compton of Carlsbad; and two sisters, Irene Haggerton and Jo Ann Baldridge all of Carlsbad, NM, ten grandchildren, Leah Burke, Lisa Williams, Jennifer Clark, Josh Dansby, Jon Dansby, Amy Alants, Noah Dansby, Ira Dansby, Lindsey Klinger and Brittany Barron; seven great grandchildren, Justin Dominy, Zack Donimy, Ty Williams, Mackenzie Clark, Tate Clark, Campbell Clark and Bailey Barron.

Pallbearers were to be grandsons and great grandsons.

Nanci A. House

Graveside services for Nanci A. House of Jacksonville and formerly of Frankston, Arizona and New Mexico are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Corine Cemetery, Corine, with the Rev. George Folmar officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Ms. House died Sunday, Nov. 4 in Jacksonville.

She was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Arkansas City, Kan., moved to Frankston 1954, then moved to New Mexico in 1975. Ms. House returned to Jacksonville in 1991 and retired as a Free Lance Artist.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Kathleen and Arthur C. Bacon; father, Howard G. Stewart; grandmother: Jenni Mable Floyd; grandfather, John Floyd; son, Floyd Jeffery House; brother, David Gordon Bacon; two sisters, Arta V. Taylor and Jennifer Bacon; uncle, John Floyd; favorite aunt, Jana Floyd; best friend, Janet Yandell; and son-in-law, John Wimmer,

Survivors include her children, Janet Wimmer of Jacksonville and Randy House of Lake Palestine; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia Kenneburg of Peoria, Ariz., friend, Sally England of New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Grayson, Charles Dickerson and John Brubaker.

George Alex Worlow, Sr.

Graveside services for George Alex Worlow Sr., 81, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Frankston City Cemetery with Davy Carter, minister, officiating.

Mr. Worlow, a journeyman electrician, died at Frankston Health Care Center on Nov. 6.

Burial will be under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

Born on May 24, 1926, in Fort Worth, Mr. Worlow was the son of Joseph R. and Lillie Melinda Haines Worlow.

Mr. Worlow was in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Local Electrical Union 479, and Vidor Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by grandson Clinton Boyd, three sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include three sons, George A. Worlow Jr. and Margaret of Vidor, Gary C. Worlow and Patti of Longview, and Gordon G. Worlow of Orange; two daughters, Patricia Matthews and Johnny of Wills Point, Paula McLane and Gordon of Neches; three sisters, LaFlora "Dutch" Davis of Fort Worth, Junie Record of Fort Worth, and Florence Hand of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was to have been held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Matthews, Gordon McLane, Alex Worlow, Kevin Worlow, Dennis McLane, Bradley McLane and Claud Almond.

M.M. Butler

Services for M.M. “Chicken” Butler, 95, of Poynor, were held Sunday, Nov. 4, at Poynor Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Godwin and the Rev. Jim Boyte officiating. Burial was to follow at Poynor Cemetery under direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Butler died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1912 in LaRue, to Tom and Pearl Thrasher Butler.

Mr. Butler was the former owner of Parade Service Station in Poynor, former County Commissioner PCT #4, Henderson County, past Chairman of the Board of Deacons of Poynor Baptist Church where he served as a member Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for the past six years.

Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy and daughter, Mary Jane Butler.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Linda Sue & Gary Giles, Hurst; three grandsons and four great-grandsons.

Pallbearers were Keith Bristow, Robert Magee, Bobby Holcomb, Ronnie Bruton, Dwayne Johnson, Bill Westbrook and Steve Westbrook.

Honorary Pallbearers were George Mixon and Buster Stringfield.

Elizabeth Ann Benjamin

Services for Elizabeth Ann Benjamin, 55, of Frankston were held Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with the Rev. George Folmar and the Rev. Shane Morgan officiating.

Burial followed in Wofford Cemetery in Frankston under direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Benjamin died Nov. 2, 2007 in Tyler.

She was born March 7, 1952 in Coleman, Texas.

She was a social worker with Cherokee County Mental Health and a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville.

Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her husband, Duane Benjamin of Frankston, her mother, Ruth Cowger of Frankston; her daughters and their spouses, Tracy and Donald Williams of Frankston and Misty and Butch Marshall of Jacksonville; sisters and their spouses, Helen Jean and Gene Hawkins of Frankston, Patsy Henderson of Houston and Sharon Martin of Frankston; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Danny Guynes, Allen Hawkins, Tommy Hawkins, John Hawkins, Donald Williams and Donnie Williams.

Dan Haynes

Funeral services for Dan Haynes, 77, of Emerald Bay were scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 11, at Frankston Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Griffin officiating. Burial followed at the Wofford Cemetery, Frankston.

Mr. Haynes died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 in Tyler. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Jacksonville.

He graduated from Frankston High School and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War as a medic.

He received his bachelor of science in education from Stephen F. Austin University in 1960. He also attended LSU School of Banking. He was director of Stephen F. Austin Alumni Board from the 70’s until 2005, was president of Alumni Board 1982-1984 and served on many committees and was a strong supporter and spokesperson for SFA University.

In 1985 governor of Texas Mark White appointed Dan to the Stephen F. Austin Board of Regents of his Alma Mater. He served as vice chairman of the board 1986-1987 and chairman of the board 1987-1989. He also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Stephen F. Austin University. He served on the Board of the Texas Bankers Association and was elected as treasure of TBA for one year. During his term on the board in 2005, Dan was recognized by the Texas Bankers Association for 50 years of banking service. His banking career took him to Timpson, Big Sandy, Tenaha, Italy, Hamilton, Burnet, Bullard and Frankston.

He was president of banking in Burnet, Bullard and Frankston. He was a member of Sharon Shrine Temple and 32 degree Mason and member of the William Foster Lodge in Frankston. He also served as a director on Emerald Bay Club Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Leatha Ehteridge and adoptive parents J. B. (Julian) and Carrie Haynes and sister Aretas Acree.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Haynes of Emerald Bay; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tracy Haynes of Baytown; son and friend, Jud Haynes and Cara Watson of Leander; grandson, Seth Haynes of Baytown (Dan’s pride and joy); brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Dorothy Grantham of Longview; sister, Jeanette Jones of Jacksonville and many relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers Dan’s request was that donations be made to the Dan and Stella Haynes Scholarship Fund, Stephen F. Austin Alumni P. O. Box 6096 Nacogdoches, TX. 75962 or Hospice of East Texas 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, TX. 75701.

Pallbearers were Curtis Sparks, Bobby Sisco, Bobby Sitton, Bobby Grantham, Willard Baker and Jerry Burks.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Smith, Paul Beauchamp, Billy Bacon, Gerald Dower, Steve Gamble, Paul Randolph, Bill Alstrin and John Tracy.

Ilene Glaze Wheeler

Funeral services for Ilene Glaze Wheeler, 72, of Frankston, were scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating. Burial was to follow at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheeler died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Jacksonville.

She was born on May 11, 1935 in Frankston. She was a member of Assembly of God Church and was homemaker.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter Sara Wheeler.

Survivors include her husband, John Wheeler of Frankston; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Clate and Brenda Wheeler of Frankston and Don Frank and Misty Wheeler of Frankston; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Gail and Harry Follbaum of Mesquite, Linda and Alton Rodgers of Frankston and Jeannine and Jack Douglas of Jacksonville; brothers, Norman Clate Glaze of Sunnyvale, Texas and Samuel Charles Glaze of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews?

Pallbearers were Dana House, Hayden Mitchell, Jason Smith, Ronnie Smith, Steve Fisher, Zachary Johnson and Clayton Follbaum.

Brenda Carol Wheeler

Funeral services for Brenda Carol Wheeler, 45, of Frankston, are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 2: 00 p.m. at Assembly of God Church in Frankston, with the Revs. Randy Wallace and Michael Griffin officiating..

Mrs. Wheeler died at her residence on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 in Frankston.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1961 in Houston. She moved to Frankston in 1968. She married her high school sweetheart, Johnny C. Wheeler, in May of 1983.

Mrs. Wheeler was a schoolteacher for seventeen years at Westwood Primary in Palestine, and homemaker for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Sara Wheeler; mother, Burniece Decou; brother, David Kitchens; father, John Kitchens; and mother-in-law, Ilene Wheeler.

Survivors include husband Johnny Wheeler of Frankston; daughters, Alicia, Courtney and Kayla Wheeler; one grandson, Jaxon Martin, all of Frankston; brother, Donny Kitchens of Frankston; sister, Linda Staggs of Santa Fe, Texas; step-father, E.L. Decou of Texas City and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bo Fail, Steve Fisher, John McGuffey, Max Beard & John Lookabaugh.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home in Frankston.

Dovie Turner

Dovie O. Turner, 69, passed away Nov. 12, in Spring.

Dovie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Turner; grandson, Jeremy “Chad” Gilliam; and sisterin- law, Marie Cox.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Brian Gilliam; sons, Kenneth R. Turner and J. Michael Turner; granddaughters, Jamie Gilliam, Chris Hunt, Jessica Gilliam and Scott Genseal; loving sisters-in-law, Barbara, Joy and Shigeyo; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dovie enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Society, her church and her friends during her 17 years in Brierwood Bay. Dovie was a loving mother and grandmother and was very involved in all of their lives. She was a very positive force in the family and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Shane Nolen

Graveside services for Shane Nolen, 35, of Frankston, were scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16, at 3:30 p.m. at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston, with the Rev. G.C. Folmar officiating.

Mr. Nolen died on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 in Jacksonville. He was born on Dec. 4, 1971 in Jacksonville to Tom and Brenda Nolen. Shane was a certified paint and body man.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Nolen of Frankston; son, Ryan Shane Nolen of Frankston; parents, Tom Nolen of Frankston and Brenda Nolen of Jacksonville; brother, Christopher Nolen of Jacksonville; sister, Pam McDaniel of Seagoville; grandparents, E.A. and Ruth Nolen of Frankston and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers were Clyde Jones, Gene Schmidt, Doug Dunn, Ricky Shane McDaniel, Chris Nolen and Tommy Dean McDaniel.

Jackie Traylor

Funeral services for Jackie G. Traylor, 79, of DeKalb, were held Saturday, Nov. 17 at Beverdam Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin L. Gray officiating.

Burial was to be in Garland Cemetery under the direction of Harmon Funeral Home.

Mr. Traylor died Nov. 9, 2007 in Christus St. Michael Health System hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1928 in DeKalb and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He worked as a farmer.

Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by his mother, father, six brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Traylor of DeKalb; four sons, Herbert Bohannon and wife Connie of Mesquite, Roy Gene Traylor and wife Robin of Garland, Bobby Traylor and wife Trina of Dallas, Kenneth Traylor of Palestine; four daughters, Jo Ann Guthrie and husband Morris of Tyler, Mary Ann Lawson and husband Ricky of Texarkana, Ruby Nero of Elk Grove, Ca., and Linda Perkins of Stockton, Ca.; three sisters, Sis Nannie Mae Compton of DeKalb, Armeteal Wilson of Greenville and Valiere Neal of Florence, Ariz.

Mary McNeill

Funeral services for Mary McNeill, 90, of Frankston are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. at Assembly of God in Frankston with the Rev. Michael Griffin officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville.

Mrs. McNeill died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007 in Tyler.

She was born Sept. 1, 1917 in Frankston to George Lafe and Leora Overton Henderson.

Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Runt” McNeill.

Survivors include three sisters, Myrtle George of Jacksonville, Evelyn Mayo of Jacksonville, Mary Bell Adams of Chandler and several nieces and nephews.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Whitehurst and Bill Whitehurst.

Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 28 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Ella Mae Weeks

Graveside services for Ella Mae Weeks, 91, of Frankston were scheduled for Monday, Nov. 19, at Olive Branch Cemetery near Frankston.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Thornton officiating.

Mrs. Weeks was a member of the Brushy Creek Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress. She was born April 30, 1916 and died Nov. 17, 2007.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Bell Wallace.

Mrs. Weeks is survived by her husband, K.B. “Red” Weeks of Frankston; a brother, John Birdwell of Flippen, Ark.; sisters, Ruby Thornton of Chandler, Ellen Loyless of Tyler and Ruth Derring of Brushy Creek.
