Ruby Jane Berryhill

LARUE-Funeral services for Ruby Jane Berryhill, 95, of LaRue, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. George Folmar officiating.

Burial was in Midway Cemetery under direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home, Athens.

Mrs. Berryhill died Monday, Nov. 1, at her residence.

She was born April 26, 1904 in South Carolina to the late Bill and Alice Hilton.

Mrs. Berryhill was a member of Midway Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nolan Berryhill; infant daughter; daughter, Jo Vaugh; son, Johnny Berryhill; and grandson, Garry Berryhill.

Survivors include daughters, Ruthie Lee McCoy, LaRue, and Jean Redding, Irving; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jessie Hilton, Mack Hilton, John Ray Hilton, Tony Hilton, Larry Schoppe, Danny McCoy, Jack Gandy, Andy Hitt and Carl Abendroth.

Bennie 'Little Dick' Thomas

Funeral services for Bennie "Little Dick" Thomas, 90, of Frankston were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Mount Olive Sand Flat Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Ray Baker officiating.

Burial was in Mount Olive Sand Flat Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co.

Mr. Thomas died Thursday, Oct. 28, in a Tyler nursing home.

He was born July 9, 1909 in Bullard and attended Bullard Schools.

Mr. Thomas was a resident of Anderson and Smith counties, a Baptist and self-employed.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Sneed Thomas, Jacksonville; son, Mario Thomas, Fort Worth; three daughters; sisters, Lovie Roy, Flint, and Arretha Thomas, Bullard, and several grandchildren;

Pallbearers were Dixie Bagley, Richard Bagley, Charles Bets, Joseph Davis, Kenneth Manoy, Davis Paris, Jerry Paris and Anthony Renfro.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the church.

James H. 'Big Jim' Sutton

Funeral services for James H. "Big Jim" Sutton, 62, of Flint were held Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Ronney Mitchell officiating.

Burial followed at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Sutton died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1837 in Big Bay, Mich.

He was a mechanic and worked in a wrecker yard.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Sue Sutton, Flint; step sons, Russell James Dougherty, Lake Palestine; Randy Dougherty, Lake Palestine and Frank Dougherty, College Station; step daughters, Tamirah Magnus, Houston; Deborah Earley, Hickson, Tenn.; sisters, Etta Howard, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Elizabeth "Beth" Morarty, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Nellie White, Forks, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Berta C. Hinkle

Funeral services for Berta S. Hinkle, 77, of Frankston were held at 2 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 4, at Cleburne First Assembly of God, with Rev. H.L. Corpany and Rev. Samuel Walley officiating. Waxahachie Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Burial was in the Alvarado Cemetery

She died Tuesday, Nov. 2, in a Frankston nursing home.

Mrs. Hinkle was born July 23, 1922 in Fort Worth, daughter of Herbert L. and Sara Ellen Corpany. She was a member of Cleburne First Assembly of God, where she served as Women's Ministry Director for many years.

She was married to Eugene O. Hinkle for over 50 years. He died in 1996.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Hinkle of Frankston; one daughter, Judith McNabb of Cleburne; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Maurine Corliss of Oakwood; two brothers, Herbert L. Corpany Jr. of Waxahachie and Bobby Ray Corpany of California.

Pallbearers were Robert McNabb, Eric McNabb, Mike Kleypas and Ron Hill.

Betty Joyce Allen

Funeral services for Betty Joyce Allen, 64, of Frankston were held Friday, Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. James A. Roberts officiating.

Burial was in the Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen died Tuesday, Nov. 9, in a Frankston nursing home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1935 in Fox, OK.

She had worked as an office manager for Henderson Construction Co. in Garland. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Church of Christ in Healdton, OK.

Survivors include her husband, James H. Allen, of Frankston; her mother, Vera Blackburn, of Ratliff City, OK.; one son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Kathryn Allen, of Montgomery, AL., three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon E. and James A. Roberts of Giddings, Dana J. and Steven Clifford of Santa Cruz, CA., Lisa R. and Mark Richey of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Billy D. Blevins, of Plano; eight grandchildren and two nephews.

Pallbearers were Charles Chaneyworth, Henry Yarbrough, Vernon Wright, Bill Cook, Cliff Coleman and Jack Chaneyworth.

Honorary pallbearers were Chris Blevins and Mark Blevins.

Rev. David B. Parker

TYLER - Funeral services for the Rev. David B. Parker, 63, of Tyler, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at First United Methodist Church, Queen City, with the Revs. Jack Cox and Carlton Dyer officiating.

Burial was in Laws Chapel Cemetery, Cass County, under direction of Hanner Funeral Service, Atlanta.

Rev. Parker died Saturday, Nov. 6.

He was born April 23, 1936, in Vivian, La., a Methodist minister for 30 years. He was pastor of Noonday United Methodist Church, and a former pastor of the Frankston United Methodist Church.

He received his master's degree in theology from Perkins School of Theology, Dallas, and was ordained as an elder in 1989.

Rev. Parker was a member of Rodessa Benefield Masonic Lodge No. 270 and Lufkin Masonic Lodge No. 669.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Parker Jr.; three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Parker, Tyler; son, Rev. Jeff Parker, Palestine; daughter, Michelle Pryor, Tyler; a brother; three sisters; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Melvin Clark Sr.

Funeral services for Melvin Clark Sr., 79, of Palestine were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Rock Hill Baptist Church in LaRue with Rev. F.F. Toney officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Frankston under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. of Tyler.

Mr. Clark died Sunday, Oct. 31, in Dallas.

He was born May 17, 1920 in Jacksonville. He was a resident of both Anderson and Tarrant Counties.

He attended Central High School in LaRue and was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church.

He worked for the railroad and served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by three sons, Melvin Clark Jr. of Palestine, Alvin Clark and Keith Clark, both of Fort Worth; two daughters, Luara Richardson of Athens, and Jackie Clark Kerns of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, A.C. (Blue) Clark of Palestine; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmie Donnell, Byron Eldridge, Terry Clark, Rodney Scott, Carl Lindsey, R.J. Williams.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Rock Hill Baptist Church.

Ruby Hall

PALESTINE - Funeral services for Ruby Juanita Hall, 83, of Palestine, formerly of Brushy Creek, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel in Palestine, with the Rev. Richard Creech officiating.

Burial was in Brushy Creek Cemetery with arrangements by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mrs. Hall died Friday, Nov. 12 in a Palestine nursing home.

She was born May 26, 1916, in Oiltown, Okla., to the late Zed and Nancy Herriman Holland.

She was a homemaker and a 60-year member of Pisgah Baptist Church, Brushy Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt E. Hall; grandson, Steve Sammons; and brothers, Harvey Holland and Raymond Holland.

Survivors include daughters, Pauline Sammons and Ethel White, both of Palestine, Lorine Smith, Kerens, and Lucretia Dungan, Leagueville; sons, Gerald Hall, Palestine, and George Hall, Whitehouse; sisters, Delpha Reimer, Bakersfield, Calif., and Darlene Brandon, Tyler; brothers, Walter Holland, Webber Falls, Okla., John Holland, Sevierville, Tenn., Vernie Holland, Shafter, Calif., and Ernest Holland, Malakoff; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Gregg Gunnels, Keith Dungan, Gerald Hall Jr., James Curtis Sammons, Shaun Smith, David Hall, Dennis McLane and Andrew Hall.

Roy David Hunt

Funeral services for Roy David Hunt, 48, of Frankston, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel, Palestine with President Scott Parkin officiating.

Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Mr. Hunt died Monday, Nov. 15, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Dec. 21, 1950 in Moses Lake, Wash., to David LeRoy Hunt and the late Velma Grobert Hunt.

Mr. Hunt was an attorney and was a graduate of Brigham Young University in 1976 and St. Mary's University in 1978.

He lived in Frankston three months, moving from Live Oak County. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a two-year church mission in England.

Survivors include his wife, Jane I. Hunt, Frankston; father, David LeRoy Hunt, Pasco, Wash.; sons, Robert Hunt, Kent Hunt, Leland Hunt and Alexander Hunt, all of Frankston; daughters, Marsha Garcia, Corpus Christi; Tanya Hunt, San Antonio; Katie Hunt and Naomi Hunt, both of Frankston; brothers, Tom Hunt, California; Terry Hunt, Royal City, Wash.; Stephen Hunt, Shelbyville, Tenn.; James Hunt, Pasco, Wash.; and Alma Hunt, Wilcox, Ariz.; sisters, Linda Waters, Moses Lake, Wash.; Betty Allen, Ephrata, Wash.; Martha Johnson, Marysville, Calif.; Laura Deichman, Elk Ridge, Utah, and Vicky Watson, Waitsberg, Wash. and one grandchild.

Mary Ellen Case

SAN ANTONIO — Funeral services for Mary Ellen Case, 81, were held Monday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. at Porter Loring North Chapel in San Antonio with Rev. Allen Randolph of Trinity Church officiating.

Interment followed in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

She was born on May 18, 1918 in Salem, VA. to Samuel Price and Ila Mae Francisco. She married C.L. Case on May 30, 1936. They entered the ministry in 1958.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 20, 1999 and a daughter, Patricia.

She is survived by her sons, Con L. Case and wife, Tammy, of Stockton, CA., and Michael W. Case and wife, Genene, of North Little Rock, AR.; a daughter, Deborah Case Sandoval, and partner, Michael Moore of San Antonio, TX; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Stanley (Jean) Brockaway of Annadale, VA.; and sister, Mrs. Carl (Grace) Morris of Vinton, VA.
