Willis Adrian Guillott

Funeral services for Willis Adrian Guillott, 79, of Frankston were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with various ministers speaking.

Burial was in Wofford Cemetery under auspices of William Foster Lodge, Frankston.

Mr. Guillott died Saturday, April 29, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1920 in DeQuincy, LA and served in the Army with the 35th Infantry Division, 60th Combat Engineers, in Europe.

Mr. Guillott lived in the Frankston area since 1974 and retired as supervisor in the mechanical department of Missouri Pacific Railroad, Palestine, after 22 years service.

He was a member and deacon of HillTop Baptist Church, Holiday Hills, and often served as music director.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Lee Thomas Green in 1980.

He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Helen Waldrum Guillott; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marceil Guillott of Frankston; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Lee Green of Frankston; three grandsons, Adrian Brice (Snapper) Guillott, Joshua and Seth Green; five brothers, Leonard and Fennell Guillott of DeQuincy, LA, Irving Guillott of Sweeney, James Guillott of Sanger, and Paulien Guillott of Vidor; three sisters, Kathleen Johnson of Vidor, Alice Managan of Sulphur, LA and Pauline Petty of DeQuincy, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Masons.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of HillTop Baptist Church, Charles Bettge, Leland Reinhard, and Frankston chapters of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Elsie Geneva Barnhart

Funeral services for Elsie Geneva Barnhart, 80, of Frankston were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the HillTop Baptist Church in Berryville with Rev. George Folmar officiating.

Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery in Nacogdoches under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Barnhart died Wednesday, April 26, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 6, 1919 in Panola County, TX.

Mrs. Barnhart was a homemaker and a member of HillTop Baptist Church, Berryville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Lee "Cotton" Barnhart and a brother, Mike Irvin Briery.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Margaret Barnhart of Houston, and Bryan and Karen Barnhart of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tom Merchant of Houston; sisters, Annie Beth Harvey, Norma Gene and Charles Watson, Gay Evelyn and T.A. Carroll; grandchildren, John R. Barnhart Jr., Steven Mark Barnhart, Michael Keith Barnhart, Karen D. Adams, Sharon M. Edmundson, Jennifer R. Barnhart and Rebecca L. Barnhart; great-grandchildren, Jennifer P. Adams, Norris L. Edmundson, Samantha Barnhart, and Zachary Barnhart; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mark Barnhart, John Ray Barnhart Jr., Michael Keith Barnhart, Tom Merchant and Scott Adams.

Elizabeth Joan Patton

Memorial services for Elizabeth Joan Patton, 73, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Candlewood Villages Community Center, Frankston with Rev. Wilburn Smith officiating. Services were under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Patton died Saturday, April 29, in a Tyler hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1926 in California.

Mrs. Patton was a cashier and a member of HillTop Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Schneider of Alabama; four grandchildren, including Todd Schneider of Frankston; one great-grandchild; and special friends, Edie Daniel and Sue Daniel, both of Frankston.

Paula Jo Tippett

Funeral services for Paula Jo Tippett, 36, of Frankston were held at 1:30 Thursday, May 18, in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial was in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Frankston under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tippett died Monday, May 15, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 11, 1963 in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Tippett was a restaurant cook and was a Baptist.

Survivors are sons, Cody Tippett, Shane Tippett and Chad Tippett, all of Frankston; brothers, Bobby Walker of Forney and Keith Walker of San Antonio; sisters, Pamela Tippett and Janet Inlow, both of Frankston; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Kerr

Funeral services for Dorothy Kerr, 72, of Pert were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in Bailey & Foster Chapel, Palestine with Dr. Jack W. Shoultz officiating.

Burial was in Fields Chapel with arrangements under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Mrs. Kerr died Wednesday evening, May 10, in a Palestine hospital.

She was born Aug. 8, 1927 in Anderson County to the late Robert Alonzo Simmons and Ruth Elizabeth Fletcher Simmons.

She was a Watkins Products representative and a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luther S. Kerr of Pert; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Libiez of Alamogordo, NM; one son, James Kerr of Tyler; one sister, Sue Rosamond of Jacksonville; one brother, George Simmons of Neches; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Daisy Cofer

LARUE - Funeral services for Daisy Cofer, 87, of LaRue, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Union Station AME Church, LaRue, with the Rev. T.J. Miles officiating.

Burial was in Bethel Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mrs. Cofer died Thursday, May 11, in Frankston.

She was born Dec. 12, 1912, in Henderson County and was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Cofer attended Henderson County schools, was a cook and member of Union Station AME Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Henderson, Poynor; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Maurice Lindsey, James Cofer, Kelvin Henderson, Gary Williams, John Cofer and Gene Lindsey.

Honorary pallbearer was Willie Joe Henderson.

John Button

PERT - Funeral services for John C. Button, 51, of Pert were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel, Palestine, with Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating.

Burial with Masonic graveside rites under auspices of Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge 1371 was in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Mr. Button died Monday, May 15.

He was born Dec. 14, 1948, in Houston to William Carl and Frances Button.

Mr. Button was a systems tech in special services for Southwestern Bell for 33 years, and worked for Southwestern Bell 1967-1970 in Houston.

He was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge 1371 in Whitehouse, Shriners Temple in Tyler, a Scottish Rite member in Waco, and served on the school board for a number of years for Neches Independent School District.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Rogers Button, Pert; daughter, Elaine Button Scalapino, Lewisville; sons, John Lance Button, Lewisville, and Bryan Button, Flower Mound; parents, W.C. and Frances Button, Whitehouse; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joe Denson, Bill McGwier, Carl Owens, Jim Denson, Nick Hingtgen and Eddy Moose.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Rogers, Kenneth Rogers, Randy Pierce, Doyce Wedgeworth, Chip McDaniel and Rick Turner.

If desired, memorials may be made to the college fund at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church; Lakeview Church Camp or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

Pattie Mullins

Funeral services for Pattie Ruth Mullins, 67, of LaRue, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, at Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Frankston, with the Rev. Marty Lawrence officiating.

Burial was in Wofford Cemetery, Frankston.

Mrs. Mullins died Saturday, May 20.

She was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Kaufman County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Mullins; a daughter, Pattie Louise Warrington; and a granddaughter, Christina Marie Watts.

Survivors include sons, Clarence Mullins Jr., Palestine, and Joseph L. Mullins Waskom; daughters, Virginia Kramer, LaRue, and Ruthie Cooper, Magazine, Ark.; sisters, Faye Lawrence, Kemp, and Louise Brown, Frankston; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Eddie Watts, Terry Mullins, Carl Browning, Bill Cooper, Jason Mullins and Hollis Tipton.

Clarice Rogers

PALESTINE - Funeral services for Clarice E. Rhodes Rogers, 90, of Baytown, formerly of the Pert Community, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with Dr. Jack W. Shoultz officiating.

Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery under direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mrs. Rogers died Monday, May 15, in a Baytown hospital.

She was born May 24, 1909, in Anderson County to the late Thomas G. and Emma Gray Rhodes.

Mrs. Rogers was a retired school teacher, having taught in Palestine and Baytown area schools.

She was a past worthy matron and 50-year member of Frankston Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Dave D. Rogers, a grandchild, one sister and seven brothers.

Survivors include daughters, Ramona Kelley of Kountze, and Rosemary Dinwiddie of Baytown; a son, David Rogers of Baytown; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Sgt. Wesley Dinwiddie, Blake Dinwiddie, Roger Kelley, James Haberman, Michael Kelley and Nicholas Kelley.

Michael J. Creech

TYLER - Funeral services for Coach Michael J. Creech, 50, of Tyler were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Pollard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dow Harleston officiating.

Private burial was under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.

Mr. Creech died Wednesday, May 17, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 2, 1949, in Bastrop, La., and lived in Louisiana, Nacogdoches and Orange prior to moving to Tyler.

Mr. Creech graduated from Northeast Louisiana University and served in the Army.

He was a coach and educator at Chapel Hill Independent School District and previously taught and coached at Bullard ISD, Frankston ISD, Douglass ISD and Deweyville ISD. He was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Louise Eloi Creech, Tyler; daughter, Meredith Louise Creech, Tyler; parents, Arnold J. and Mary Helen Creech, Collinston, La.; brother, John David Creech, Manghum, La., sister, Dawn Goodwin, Bastrop, La.; two nephews and four nieces.

Pallbearers included Allen Johnston, Tony Bowles, Chris Johnston, Greg Wright, Marty Moore, Tim Moore, John McKinley and Darold Turner.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the coaching staff at Chapel Hill ISD and Chapel Hill basketball team.
