Dudley Warrington

A funeral service for Dudley Warrington, 94, of Frankston,  was held Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. The Rev. Jimmy Hopper officiated.  

Mr. Warrington was laid to rest at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston.  

He passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, in Frankston.

Dudley was born January 30, 1925, in Poynor to Edward and Jewel (Russell) Warrington.

He retired from Texas Utility after 42 years. He began as a climber and retired as a supervisor. He then raised cattle and was a 32nd Degree Master Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herman, Billy Joe and Ray Warrington; sisters, Louise Dansby, Lorena Davis, Laquita Burdine and June Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Russell Warrington and Dudley Warrington, both of Frankston and Amanda Ruth Wise and husband Larry of AL. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Hopper and husband Jim of San Antonio; grandchildren, Trinity Wise and Chris Dunlap; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Russell Warrington, Dudley Warrington, Dennis Gee, Larry Wise, Steven Miller and Dakota Wise. Honorable pallbearers were Jim Hopper and Bob Sandlin.

John Wiley Hutchison

John Wiley Hutchison (Tumbleweed), age 83, died peacefully in Tyler on March 6, 2019.

He was born Sept. 12, 1935, to Percy Cole Sr. and Nellie Hutchison in Mount Calm, Texas.

He married Lillian Broughton on Sept. 1, 1956. They moved to the Dallas area then settled in Euless in 1964, where they lived and raised their four children.

In 2016, they moved to Frankston, Texas, to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Slover.

John retired June 1, 1994, after 38 years as a Teamsters truck driver. After retirement, he volunteered at the Cardiac Rehab Hurst Euless Bedford Hospital for 12 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Boys Ranch Senior Center.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Cole Hutchison, Sr. and Nellie Day Hutchison; daughter Ronda Hutchison Delafield; four brothers, Percy Jr., George, Howard and Lea; and three sisters, Irma, Dorothy and Nelda.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lillian Broughton Hutchison; son, John David and wife Juliette, son Leonard; daughter, Debbie and husband Mike; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration Service is scheduled for March 30 in Chilton with a graveside service to follow at Powers Chapel near Rosebud in Falls County.

Bill Reynolds

Bill Reynolds, 64, of Frankston, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019.

He was born July 13, 1954, in Jacksonville to James and Wanda (Vermillion) Reynolds.

Bill worked in maintenance and construction and retired from TDCJID as Region 2 Maintenance Supervisor.

He had a passion for fishing and always loved and took care of his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Merine Reynolds.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sharon Reynolds of Frankston; son, Michael Reynolds and wife Kandace of Frankston; brother, Jim Reynolds and wife Charlcie of Corsicana and sister, Kathy Palafox and husband Gerald of Tyler.  

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sarah Mae Reynolds and Lynnsey Kae Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Thomas Hart Auldridge

Thomas Hart Auldridge, 85, was born June 17, 1933, to Tollie Houston Auldridge and Miami Valentine (Frazier) Auldridge near the Dial Community in Fannin County, Texas, near Honey Grove.

He died March 10, 2019.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean War as a switchboard operator in South Korea. He always said his life in the war was a lot like the movie, "Good Morning Vietnam" with Robin Williams.

He worked building missile sites in Oklahoma, worked on the Alaska Pipeline near Valdez, Alaska, in the early 1970s and also spent years in the window cleaning business.

He was known for his singing, joking and loved to make people happy. He loved horseback riding and breaking horses in his younger days.

He would help anyone who needed assistance if it was within his power to do so.

Since being injured by a run-away vehicle (the driver passed out at the wheel) in 1999 in Dallas, he spent the last 20 years of his life in nursing homes, 10 years in Paris, Texas, then in 2010, his sister had him transferred to the Frankston Health Care Center to be near her. When it closed, he was transferred to Twin Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville where he resided until his death.

He married Georgia Ruth Gower June 12, 1956. They were divorced in 1964. he never re-married.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Dale (Billy); and one granddaughter Rachel Auldridge; siblings: T.H. Auldridge, (Melba) of Sterling Alaska and Paris, William Travis (Bill) and (Virginia) Auldridge of Kenai Alaska, Ralph Ray Auldridge (Hazel) of Garland and Paris, Charlie Wesley Auldridge (Sybil) of Kenai Alaska and Hot Springs, Arkansas, Douglas Auldridge (Fonda) of Wylie and Omaha, Texas, and Emory Gay Auldridge (Brenda) of Wylie.

He is survived by the only sister out of a family of seven sons, Mary Ellen Holloway and her husband Dennis of Frankston, formerly of Grand Prairie and Homer Alaska. Sons, Thomas Henry Auldridge of Arkansas, Daniel Hart Auldridge of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Kenneth Wayne Auldridge of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and daughter Anita Lynn Williamson of Guyman, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all three nursing homes that gave him excellent care and especially Heart to Heart Hospice for making the last several days of his life peaceful and pain free.

As per his wishes, there was no funeral. His ashes are interred at Restland Cemetery in Roxton, Texas.

Goodbye, dear brother ... you are dearly missed.

Herbert Preston Riley

A funeral service for Herbert Preston Riley of Frankston was held Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the Frankston Church of Christ, officiated by Brother Davy Carter.

Mr. Riley was laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Riley, 92, passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2019. He was born July 6, 1926, in Poynor, Texas, to Henry Preston “Mann” Riley and Evelyn Hannah Riley.

Mr. Riley was a lifetime resident of Poynor and Frankston and a member of the Church of Christ in Frankston.

He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army who served overseas from October 1944 to August 1946.

In July 1947, he was employed by the First State Bank in Frankston which ignited a lifelong career in banking.

In December 1954, he became a Vice President and member of the Board of Directors at the First State Bank in Big Sandy, Texas. He has been in association with Austin Bank for over 71 years, where he was serving as director emeritus.

He served on the Board of Trustees at the Trinity Valley Community College in Athens. Mr. Riley was also the founder and owner of Riley Farms and H. P. Riley Holdings. While he spent much of his life working as a banker, he was a cattleman at heart. His greatest passions were rooted in agriculture. He was known for his love of cattle, land, and his pine tree farms.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janie Riley Vinson.

Left to cherish Mr. Riley’s memory are his wife of 61 years, Billie Sammons Riley of Frankston; children Jill Hyde and husband Jeff of Mansfield, Texas, Gay Pfund and husband Victor of Frankston, Kyle Riley and wife Shannon of Poynor and Dena Jimenez and husband J.P. of Frankston.

He is also survived by many grandchildren, Clint Hyde and wife Leah, Caten Hyde and wife Kelsey, Gabrielle Pfund, Judson Riley, Jarrett Riley, John Riley Jimenez, and Briley Jimenez; two great-grandchildren, Colten and Riley Cate Hyde; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Clint, Caten, Gabrielle, Judson, Jarrett, John Riley, and Briley, and sons in-law Jeff, Victor, and J.P.

Honorary pallbearers include employees of the Frankston Dairy Queen and employees of Riley Farms.

Patricia “Pat” Burns

Services for Patricia “Pat” Burns, 79, of Frankston (formerly of Whitehouse), were held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating.

Mrs. Burns passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, in Tyler.  

She was born December 27, 1939, in Dallas to Edward Jackson Barber and Reba Maureen Jones Barber.

Pat was an avid fisherman and excellent cook, as well as the rock and foundation of her family and friends.

Ms. Pat's contribution to her family and friends was immeasurable.  

She graduated from Chapel Hill High School. She was an accounting professional for 39 years at Howe Baker Engineers.

Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Earl Barber and sister, Audrey Barber Olyer.  She is survived by her loving family including her brother, Billy Jack Barber of Tyler; her daughter, Kim Glaspie and husband Wayne of Frankston; son, Chris Burns and wife Patty of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Jake Glaspie, James Glaspie and Justin and Heather Glaspie; nieces, Shelley Goettelman, Deyon Soto, Cindy Eads, Sheila Pannell and Martha Anne Alden.

Honorary pallbearers were David Eads Jr, Carter Pannell, P.T. Burns, Dexter Hadjeson, Dave Diduch, Johnathan Campbell, Troy Wright, Kevin Carlisle and Bruce Walker.

Wayne Hedlund

A graveside service for Wayne Hedlund,  75, of Frankston, was held Wednesday, March 20, 2019, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

Kevin Hukill officiated.  

Mr. Hedlund was laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery in Frankston.

Mr. Hedlund passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, in Tyler, Texas.

Wayne was born August 27, 1943, in Winner, South Dakota, to Kenneth and Vivian Hedlund.

Mr. Hedlund served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and fought in the Vietnam War. He was employed with Exxon Mobile for twenty-six years, where he retired as a Senior Operations Mechanic.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as well as fishing and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Hedlund.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-three years Mary Lee Hedlund; two daughters, Amy Higginbotham and husband Ronnie of Cedar Hill, Laurie Peters and his grandchildren, Colton and Cade Peters all of Slocum; two brothers, Dean Hedlund and wife Diane of Nebraska, Brad Hedlund and wife Tammy; three sisters, Rae Juel, Kay VanderWoude and husband Bob, and Vola Hedlund, all of South Dakota. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

J. C. Hicks

A funeral service for J.C. Hicks, 99, of Frankston, was held Saturday, March 30, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Frankston. Scott Wiley and Roger McDonald officiated.  

Mr. Hicks was laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

J.C. was born April 4, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas, and passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in Palestine.

J.C. served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Education during his teaching career that began San Antonio going onto Woodhouse High School in Long Lake, Texas.

Not only did J.C. teach in the classroom, he also coached all sports, was a principal and superintendent at Frankston I.S.D. His teaching career spanned nearly 30 years and he formally retired at the age 50 in 1970, nearly 50 years ago.

J.C. was a past board member of the Henderson County Jr. College, a member of the Lions Club and several other community associations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Ida (Hollis) Hicks, Sr.; brother, Gene Hicks and sister, Mary Ellen Harrell.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Reba Jo Hicks of Frankston; children, Jack Hicks and wife Carolyn of Dallas, Steve Hicks and wife Caroline of Bradford, Joe Hicks and wife Sarah of Frankston and Judy Hicks McNeill and Drew Bacon of College Station. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren

Pallbearers were David Hicks, Michael Dear, Daniel Shepard, Matt Hicks, Scott McNeill, Roger McDonald, Jeff Hicks and Sid Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Cook, Pat Cook, Bo Ousley, Oles Pinson, J.A. Griffin, Charles Dickerson, Marcellus Parrish and Todd Bules.

Dennis James Newman

Dennis James Newman, 48, of Frankston passed away in Frankston on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

He was born January 15, 1971, in Jacksonville to James and Bertha (Brooks) Newman.

He was an iron worker and specialized in metal buildings.

Dennis loved to fish and hunt and had a talent for making knives and other items out of metal.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Brook Newman.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jesse James Newman of Frankston, James and Bertha Newman of Frankston; his friend of many years, Nancy Nicholson of Bullard; and many family members and a lot of life-long friends.

A celebration of his life was held on April 7.
