Ramsey and Easton Powell

Ramsey Kenneth and Easton Edward Powell, born prematurely on May 25, 2010, went to learn how to hunt and fish in heaven with their “Kenko”, Keno Fitzgerald.

Their lives were to be celebrated Saturday, May 29, with a casual graveside service and balloon release in the Frankston City Cemetery.

Ramsey and Easton are survived by their parents Justin and Tish (Fitzgerald) Powell; sister Ayden Kathleen Powell; their Bopa and Nana, Don and Audrey (Melcher) Fitzgerald; their uncle Drew and Aunt Jayne Fitzgerald and cousin Ryan, all of Frankston; their Mimi, Janet Powell of Irving; godparents: Laurie Elkins, Frisco; Shelley Vaughn, Frankston, and Rob Royer, Keller; many family and loving friends.

Donations may be made in memory of Ramsey and Easton to the Friends of the Frankston Depot Library, The United Methodist Church of Frankston, or the March of Dimes.

Mary Rosnosky

Funeral mass for Mary Rosnosky, 91, of Frankston, was held Tuesday, June 1, at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Jones Jayaraj.

Burial followed in the Poynor Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Rosnosky passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Frankston.

She was born March 16, 1916 in Yoakum, and was a retired office secretary for a chemical production company.

Mrs. Rosnosky was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert Rosnosky; and a sister Estelle Martin.

Survivors include her sister, Leona Hanks of Poynor; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Dallas Jones, Jason Smith, Jacob Haynes, Ben Haynes, Eric Hanks and Joe Barrington

Rosary was held Monday evening at the funeral home in Frankston.

Dorothy Neal

Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Delane Harris Neal, 85, of Carthage, formerly of Frankston, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Frankston City Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Neal’s body will lie in repose from 12 noon until 5 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 State Highway 149, Carthage. She passed away on Thursday morning, June 3, 2010, in Tyler.

Dorothy Delane Harris Neal was born on Nov. 11, 1924, in Cotton Valley, LA to Harmon Mallard and Mary Pearl Brassell Harris. She graduated from Frankston High School and attended Draugh’s Business School in Dallas.

Mrs. Neal worked for Southwestern Electric Service Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Mrs. Neal moved to Carthage in 1996, from Frankston. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Neal is survived by two sons, Jerry Glenn Neal of Flint and Norman Jarrette Neal, Jr. of Frankston; one brother, Harmon M. “Sam” Harris, Jr. of Houston; three grandchildren, Amber Neal Oberg and husband John of Tyler, Jarrette Neal of Frankston, and Erika Neal of San Antonio; and her beloved dog, Jasper.

Alma Ward

Memorial services for Alma Ward were held at the Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine on Friday, June 11, with interment at the Rock Church Cemetery at Blackfoot. Dan Manuel officiated.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Alma Ward was born April 11, 1930 in Okmulgee, Okla. and passed away on June 3, 2010. The daughter of Clarence and Jennie Robinson, she graduated from Okmulgee High School. She married George Ward of Palestine.

Alma worked most of her professional life in government service, including the Internal Revenue Service and retired from the Department of Social Security in Palestine.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Frankston for many years and more recently the Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine.

She also traveled as a chorus singer and continued her chorus experience in many church functions over the years.

Alma was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, Bernie, Wayne, Glenn, and her sister Geneva May.

She is survived by her husband, George; her daughter, Jenny and husband Mac, and their two sons Adam and Andrew; her son, Lee and his wife, Melissa, and their two daughters, Kelsey and Brooke, and son Jackson, and her son Randy, and family, Mary Jane, Charles (Chuck), Kimberlea, Katharina and Magdelana.

Pallbearers were Bob Stech, Dale Sparks, Gary Todd, Jerry Thompson, Ike Weatherly, and Josh Shellenbarger.

Alfred Lloyd Pace

Services with Military Honors for Retired Lt. Col. Alfred Lloyd Pace, 95, of LaRue, were held Tuesday, June 8, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Dunn officiating.

Burial followed in Owen Cemetery.

Mr. Pace died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in LaRue.

He was born May 30, 1915 in Henderson County to the late Lloyd and Stella Day Pace. He married Oleta (Pete) Hall, December 26, 1938.

He was a resident of Henderson County most of his life. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, and served during World War II. After retirement he worked for the USDS Agriculture Services for many years. He was an agronomist, soil conservationist and raised beef cattle for many, many years. He was a member of the LaRue United Methodist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Harriet Sue Rife, brother, Clyde Day Pace, and sister Mary Will Pace-Wagoner Stiefeil.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Oleta (Pete) Hall Pace, LaRue, son, William L. Pace and wife Pam, New York, grandchildren, Bradford Lloyd Pace, New York, Abby Jeanette Pace, Flint, Amy Elizabeth Pace-Pierson, New York, Angela Mignonne Pace-Wright, Tyler, Robin Christine Rife, New York, Michael Rife, New York, sisters, Stella Floy Pace, Martha Nell Pugh, Marjorie Owen, all of Athens, 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Owens, Jon Pugh, Jr., Justin Pugh, Kyle Pugh, Bradford Pace, and Michael Rife.

Honorary pallbearers were Jon Pugh, Sr., Jerry Lynn Pugh, Sr., Jeff Wright, and Rob Pierson.

Sue Rife

Memorial Services for Sue Rife, 66, of LaRue, were held Tuesday, June 8, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Dunn officiating.

Burial followed in Owen Cemetery.

She passed away June 2, 2010 in LaRue.

Sue was born April 8, 1944 to Alfred Lloyd and Oleta (Pete) Hall Pace.

She was preceded in death by her father Alfred Lloyd Pace,

She was a resident of LaRue since 1990. As a daughter of a retired Army officer, she was able to travel with family. She married Robert E. Rife, Jr., June 28, 1975 who was also in the military (Air Force) where she continued her travels with her family.

She received her bachelor of arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, and received four distinctions, Home Economics, Art, Early Education Teaching for the handicapped, and Interior Decorating.

She was an excellent musician and an avid reader, but foremost she was the best wife, the most wonderful mother, and the most fantastic grandmother anyone could ever pray for.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Rife, Jr., LaRue, son, Michael Rife, LaRue, daughter, Robin Rife, LaRue, mother, Oleta (Pete) Pace, LaRue, grandchildren, Kayla Marie Rife, Hayden Travis Everett Rife, and Dixie Raine Rife.

Mitsuko Anderson

Memorial services for Mitsuko Anderson, 80, of Frankston will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler with the Rev. Alfred Darst officiating.

Mrs. Anderson passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 in Tyler.

She was born on March 1, 1930 in Japan to the late Eaitara Nakamura and Chima Ishihara. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Anderson.

She is survived by her son, Jim Anderson and wife Kay of Frankston; daughters, Lisa Swann and husband Coalin of Midlothian and Linda Whiting of Raeford, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Jim Clark

Graveside services for Jim Clark, 93, of Cross Plains, were held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Frankston City Cemetery with Bro Ronnie White presiding.

Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Clark passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Cross Plains, Texas.

He was born April 2, 1917 in Houston County, to Ed and Willie Clark.

Mr. Clark worked as an operator for the Texaco Refinery and was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Danny Clark.

Survivors include a son, Paul Clark and wife Shirley of Cross Plains; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

James ‘Ted’ Pace

Services for James Theodore “Ted” Pace, 86, of Athens, were held Sunday, June 13, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynette Solomon officiating.

Masonic graveside services followed in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Pace died June 10, 2010 in Athens.

The son of James Theodore Pace, Sr. and Gladys Catherine Walch Pace, Ted was born in Haskell, Texas on August 21, 1923.

Following graduation from Haskell High School, Ted and a group of friends headed for California and were soon employed in Chula Vista assembling aircraft where his passion for flying took flight.

At the onset of Pearl Harbor the group of friends drove home so they could enlist in the military service in Texas.

Ted joined the Army Air Corps where he served as a flight engineer on the B26. Following World War II, his love for flying continued and he eventually owned his own airplane.

Formerly a 60 year resident of LaRue, Mr. Pace was a graduate of Henderson County Junior College and retired from the Texas Department of Human Service as a supervisor after 31 years of service.

He was a 60 year mason and a Grand Lodge Master Mason with memberships in Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165 A.F. & A.M., Cedar Creek Lake Lodge No. 1431 A.F. & A.M. and Dale E. Miller Lodge No. 40 R &S.M.

Ted’s great pleasures in life were his country home, his dog and best friend Max, sharing World War II stories, doing projects on the farm, being a wonderful Pa to his beloved granddaughters, and bird hunting with his cousins in Haskell.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, a sister Catherine Huntsman preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Pace, Athens; daughter, Teddie Ann Pace, Palestine; beloved granddaughters, Jennifer French and husband Neal, Sulphur, Okla., Julie Waldon and husband Dale, Lawton, Okla.; great grandchildren, Victoria Baker, Levi Baker, Elizabeth Baker, Ella Thomas, and niece, Kay Holly, Wylie.

Pallbearers were Mark Bostick, Shelly Jones, John Jones, Levi Baker, Neal French, and Dale Waldon.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165 A.F. & A.M.

Carey Charles McElroy

Graveside services for Mr. Carey Charles McElroy, 52, of Lindale were held Wednesday, June 16, at Mixon Cemetery with Pastor Kyle Nees officiating.

Mr. McElroy was born July 10, 1957 in Jacksonville to Cecil and Sudie Sherbert McElroy.

He graduated from Bullard High School. He was a carpenter and a truck driver.

He attended Gracelife Fellowship Church and had resided in Lindale for the past five years having previously been raised in Bullard.

Mr. McElroy died Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence.

He is survived by a sister, Marjorie Sulser of Bullard; a brother, Adrian McElroy of Longview; two nieces and two nephews; three great nieces and one great nephew and several extended family members of Frankston.

Pallbearers were Bill Adams, Larry Baker, Johnny Neeley, Blake McElroy, Ravean Johnson and Adam.

Services were under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Sue Mayfield

Funeral services for Sue Mayfield, 61, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Vance Stinson officiating.

Burial will be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Frankston.

Mrs. Mayfield passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Tyler.

She was born January 23, 1949 in Livingston, Texas to C. L. and Myrtle George.

She was a mail manager for the Church of God International.

Survivors include her father and step-mother, C. L. & Evelyn George of Troup; mother, Myrtle George of Jacksonville, daughter, Sherie Cruz and husband John of Frankston; brothers, Rodger George of Chicago, IL, Paul Sadler of Troup, Mike Sadler of Jacksonville, Phil Sadler of Florida; grandchildren, Amanda Davilla, Stephanie Cruz, Steven Cruz, Justin Lee, Jordan Cruz, Caleb Cruz, Christofer Cruz; and great granddaughter, Mackenzie Davilla.

Pallbearers will be Shane Carlile, Mike Sadler, Paul Sadler, Phillip Felder, Justin Lee, and Phil Burbhett.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Johnnie E. Simmons Jr.

Funeral services for Johnnie E. Simmons, Jr. 83, of Frankston were held June 18, 2010 at the Frankston United Methodist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Bob Waldman and the Rev. Doug Howell officiating.

Burial was held at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Simmons passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2010, in Frankston.

He was born Feb. 16, 1927 in James, Texas to the late Johnnie E. Simmons Sr. and Vergie Lee Whatley Simmons.

He worked at Hunt Oil Co. for 40 years. He was a member of the Frankston United Methodist Men and Fellowship Sunday School Class. He served the City of Frankston for over 37 years as Mayor and a Councilman.

Mr. Simmons is preceded in death by his son, Malcolm Dean Simmons, four sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wommack Simmons of Frankston; daughter, Angie Fitzgerald and husband Joey of Athens; daughter-in-law, Lisa Simmons of Watonga, Okla.; grandchildren, Melissa Simmons, Heather Simmons, Justin Lee Simmons, Taylor Fitzgerald, Trevor Fitzgerald; brother, Glen Harold Simmons of Marshall; sister, Wilma Simmons Holland; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Lade, Dan Lade, Rick Stewart, James Gouger, Bill Henderson, and Joey Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were United Methodist Men and employees of Hunt Oil Co.

Connie Jo Aubuchon

Graveside services for Connie Jo Aubuchon, 64, of Coffee City were held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Rose Lawn Memorial Park with Glenn Bourque officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Aubuchon passed away June 21, 2010 at her residence in Coffee City.

She was born March 18, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Lonnie and Eva Higdon. She attended school in Haughton, Louisiana. Mrs. Aubuchon married the love of her life, Michael, in 1970 and remained happily married until her death. She enjoyed working with her husband in the real estate business.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Aubuchon was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Higdon.

She is survived by a loving family including her husband of 40 years, Michael Aubuchon of Coffee City; two daughters, Alanna Weekley of Coffee City and Dawn Lopez of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Jessica Sullivan of Santee, California, Christy Garvin, Michael Denninghoff, Joshua Weekley, and Alaya Weekley, all of Coffee City; brother, Clarence Higdon of Ringold, Louisiana; and sister, Carolyn Zagone of Bossier City, Louisiana.
