Robert Mitchell
Graveside services for Robert Mitchell, 87, of Frankston, were held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Frankston City Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Wiley officiating.
Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in Tyler.
He was born December 22, 1922 in Oklahoma.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston, was a retired maintenance worker for General Electric and past member of William Foster Masonic Lodge in Frankston.
He is preceded in death by his wife Odessa Cook Mitchell and daughter Joyce Marie Smith.
Survivors include nieces Kay Kloesel of Harper, Texas, Dorothy Carter of Dallas and Shirley Vinson of Mason, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews.
Doris Jensen
Doris Scruggs Jensen, 60, passed away July 3, 2010 after a brief stay in the hospital.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral. Doris (Cissy) was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia on October 30, 1949, to the late Preston Scruggs, of Jacksonville, and Dolores Ashworth who resides in Frankston.
The family lived in various parts of the United States and also France as her father was career Army.
She attended high school in Jacksonville and later moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area subsequently returning to be with her mother in Frankston.
She is survived by her mother, Dolores Ashworth from Frankston; daughter, Elyzabeth Durard, and husband Samuel and her twin grandchildren, Sam and Johnny who reside in Grapevine; sister, Brenda Anderson and husband Victor, and her nephew Victor Jr. who reside in Weatherford. She has numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from the North Central, and Eastern parts of the state.
Rachel Walker
Rachel Cora Walker was born Oct. 14, 1926 in Frankston and passed away July 1, 2010 in Dallas.
She enjoyed gardening, yard work and loved her white Pomeranian dog named Bugger. It went everywhere with her.
She was a member of the VFW Rebecca Ladies Auxiliary and a Baptist most of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Becky Nix and husband Andy, Nancy Curiel and husband Alex, Janyce Hawthorne and husband Butch; sons, Dewaine Walker, Thomas Walker and wife Wanda, Donald Ray Walker and wife Jackie; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Billy Nelson Henderson and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Neulan “Bud” Walker.
Services were held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Roselawn Chapel. She was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Robert Tatum
Memorial services for Robert William Tatum, 59, of Frankston, were held Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the VFW Post No. 5073 in Frankston.
Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mr. Tatum passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Frankston.
He was born August 25, 1950 in Dallas.
Mr. Tatum served in the United States Army during Vietnam, was a Baptist and was a peace officer at Tyler Junior College.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Tatum and Frances Ross Tatum; and brother, Larry Tatum.
Survivors include wife Von Tatum of Frankston; sons, Robert Wayne Tatum and Todd Leon Tatum and wife Jessica, all of Frankston; brothers, Bonny Tatum of Dallas, Jerry Tatum of Greenville, Tenn., Dean Tatum of Australia and Harvey Tatum of Cash; sister, Cecilia Grisham of Red Oak; granddaughters, Teallie “Bug” Tatum and Kyllie “Kat” Tatum, both of Frankston; eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Lynn Sewell
A memorial service for Lynn Sewell, 81, of LaRue, was held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Handley officiating.
Mr. Sewell passed away July 18, 2010 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
He was born July 2, 1929 in Corsicana, to Clayton Clifton and Octavia Childress Sewell.
Lynn grew up in Morgans Mill. After serving in the Air Force, he and his family moved to Tyler where he lived until 1989. He was a longtime member and deacon at Glenwood Church of Christ. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. When he retired he moved to LaRue. For the past 20 years he volunteered through the Church of Christ in Frankston with the “Know Your Bible” prison ministries.
Mr. Sewell was preceded in death by his parents.
Lynn is survived by his loving family including his children, Angie Haynes and husband John of Tyler, and Terry Sewell and wife Lori of Flint; sister, Cliffee Yocham of Saginaw; grandchildren, Kristie Davis, Clark Haynes, Kelli Haynes, Clay Sewell, Kevin Sewell and Kayla Sewell and two nieces.

Kenneth Smith
Funeral services for Kenneth Smith, 78, of Frankston, were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin and the Rev. Doug Howell officiating.
Burial was to be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Frankston.
Mr. Smith passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 in Frankston.
He was born May 16, 1932 in Scurry, Texas.
Mr. Smith was a Methodist and was a contractor and hay farmer.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Marcus Smith and Beulah Hill Smith, brothers Marcus, Jack, Bobbie Joe and Hildred and sister Josephine Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Smith of Frankston; sons, Dusty Smith, Nathan Marcus Smith and Mark Burris of Temecula, Calif.; daughters, Vickie Loraine, Shanna Dalene Street of LaRue and Sonya Gaye Strache of California; sisters, Bonnie Risley and Geraline Adams, both of Garland; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Smith, Gerald Smith, Glenn Adams, Darel Wayne Risley, Jerry Beard and Wayne Socia.
The family were to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Ida Marseal Russell
Services for Ida Marseal Russell, 87, of League City were held Tuesday at Hilltop Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Stephen Palmer and the Rev. Ron Ivey officiating.
Burial followed in Brushy Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster in Palestine.
Mrs. Russell died Sunday at Harbor View Nursing Home in League City. She was born June 12, 1923 in Cleburne to Stephen and Elizabeth Lester Stroud. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker and a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church in Brushy Creek.
Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Charley Van Russell; brothers, Clarence Stroud, M.B. (Bud) Stroud, Carl Stroud, Leslie Stroud and Lawrence Stroud; sisters, Mildred Hefner and Eunice Garrard.
She is survived by her sons, Van Russell and wife Marilyn of Pasadena, Galen Russell and wife Linda of Kemah; daughters, Francis Gulihur and husband William of Frankston, and Deborah Barmore and husband Cliff of Alvin.
She is also survived by her grandsons Ronnie Gulihur and wife Renee of Sugar Land, Robert Gulihur and wife Mary-Margaret of Pasadena, Todd Russell of Pasadena, Paul Russell and wife Amy of Kemah and Aaron Barmore of Alvin; granddaughters, Gay Nell Gulihur of Houston, Regina Pickering and husband John of Baytown, Kelli Nations and husband John Armour of League City, Kristi Nations and husband Rob Challenger of League City, Emily Russell and husband Daniel Slazer of League City, Tracy Barmore of Alvin and Lara Bunn and husband Matt of Richmond; eleven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Wynell Stroud of Glen Rose, Anne Stroud of Fort Worth, Maxine Stroud of San Angelo and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Sylvia Campbell
Funeral services for Sylvia Laverne Campbell, 75, of Frankston, were held Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.
Burial followed at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Frankston.
She was born September 18, 1934 in Frankston to Timothy and Mary Carrington.
Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Mary Carrington; brothers and sisters, Emmit Carrington, Ellis Carrington, Dennis Carrington, T.A. Carrington, Jr., E.C. Jaynes, Melvin Jaynes, Donald Jaynes, Lillian Jaynes Gray Pierson, Vivian Jaynes Murphey, Leonard Carrington, Royal Carrington and Charles Owen Carrington.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles Campbell of Frankston; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kay Campbell of Frankston; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Matt Vaughn of Irving, Renee and Larry Hall of Grand Prairie, and Angela and David Brown of Frankston; grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan Beaton of Atlantic Beach Fla., Bradley Campbell of Frankston, Daniel and Zachary Vaughn of Irving, Sara and Jacob Hall of Grand Prairie, and Amber and Emily Brown of Frankston; a sister-in-law Rosemary Carrington of Palestine; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Larry Hall, Matt Vaughn, David Brown, Bradley Campbell, Daniel Vaughn, Zachary Vaughn and Jacob Hall.
