Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Angela Clark-Scott

Funeral services for Mrs. Angela Clark-Scott, 41, Poynor will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at First Baptist Church, Poynor with the Rev. F.F. Toney officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mrs. Scott died Jan. 3, 2014, in Anderson County.

She was born Feb. 8, 1972, in Henderson County, Texas. She graduated from LaPoynor High School and attended school to become an airline stewardess in Houston.

Angela was a lifelong resident of Anderson County, a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and a waitress for 7-B Restaurant in Frankston for more than 6 years. She served on the caring and concerned committee.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her husband Rodney Scott, Sr. of Palestine; parents Melvin and Rena Clark of Palestine; son Datavius Scott of Palestine; two step-sons Rodney Scott, Jr. and LaRodrick Scott both of Pflugerville; one daughter Alyricia Rochelle Scott of Palestine; three brothers Derrick Clark (Chrystal) of Palestine, Mander Clark (Charlene) of Frankston, and Kevin Clark of Palestine; two sisters Vickie Clark of Palestine and Bridgett Clark (Larry) of Dallas; two step sisters Demetria Crear of Athens and Yolanda Roberson of Dallas.


Earl Markel Lawson

Earl Markel Lawson, 67, of Poynor died on Dec. 27, 2013, in Athens.

Memorial services were pending at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with burial in Poynor Cemetery.

Mr. Lawson was born May 8, 1946, in North Carolina. He was a heavy equipment operator and came to the Poynor area 25 years ago to work. He was a member of LaPoynor Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Lawson of Poynor; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.


George Clakley

A funeral service for Mr. George Clakley, 81, of the Antioch Community in Panola County, Texas, was be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Anglin and Bro. David Fowler officiating.

Interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. The family received friends for a visitation on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Clakley passed away on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, 2014, in Shreveport.

George Clakley was born on Oct. 22, 1932, in Frankston, to Solomon Levi and Alice Powell Clakley. He married Bonnie Jean Harvey on June 17, 1955, in the Antioch Community.

He worked as a welder and was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Clakley moved to Antioch from Frankston in 1950.

Mr. Clakley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Clakley of Antioch; one son, Dempsey “Lee” Clakley and wife Ann of River Hill; two brothers Ernest Clakley and wife Shirley and Levi Clakley and wife June all of Tyler; three grandchildren Bradley Lee Clakley of Antioch, Justin Clakley of Deadwood and Jessica Clakley of Carthage; and one great-grandchild Kyle Clakley.

Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Crooks, Bill Peace, Joey Brinkman, Sam Miller, Bubba Kiper, and George Fletcher.

David P. Gebron

David P. Gebron, also known as Uncle Dave, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, after a long illness. He was 87.

Gebron was born in Dallas on July 15, 1926.

He served as a Marine in World War II and had numerous careers during his life.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Orem Grbron and nine children.

Gebron was to be cremated in Waco.


Charles Arthur Bullock

Charles Arthur Bullock, known as “Charlie” to his friends, 68, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Coffee City.

Charlie was born March 16, 1945, in Ottawa, Ontario Canada to John and Mildred Bullock.

He was an active member of the Lollipop Community near Coffee City.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anita Bullock, who passed away in 1989.

Survivors include his sisters Janet Kidd and husband Tom, Dolores Fossum and husband George; brother Richard John Bullock and wife Marilyn, all of Canada.

A Celebration of Life to honor Bullock was held Saturday, Jan. 25, at Country Kettle Restaurant in Frankston.


Alan Gaston

Graveside services for Alan Gaston, 65, of Overton were to have been held Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Frankston City Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Thoene officiating.

Mr. Gaston passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in Overton.

He was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Henderson to Gilmer Gaston and Sue Lancaster Gaston.

Mr. Gaston was a manager of movie theaters in Tyler and served as a manager for LaQuinta Hotels.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a special friend, Rosie Skinner.

Survivors include his brother John Sartor of Overton; cousins Bettie Holcomb and Dan Wagoner of LaRue; niece Ashley Kay Sartor, and nephew John Sartor, Jr.


Jerry Don Evrage

Services for Jerry Don Evrage, 73, of Frankston, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Scott Wiley and Chad Crenshaw officiating.

Burial will follow at Berryville Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Evrage passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, under the care of Hospice of East Texas.

He was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Slaton to Albert Floyd and Bertha Munzell Evrage.

Jerry was a Master Mason at C.A. Fortner Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankston.

He loved to flying and traveling, fishing and helping others. He was a mentor to many and enjoyed cooking and eating. He spent time on his ranch where he raised horses, emus and cattle, along with a wedding chapel. Jerry also enjoyed building warehouses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

Jerry is survived by his loving family including his wife of 38 years, Vivian Evrage of Frankston; daughters Diane Hofacket and husband Pete of Big Springs, Canzada Schoonover and husband Jimmy of Lubbock and Debra Plourde and husband Jimmy of Houston; grandchildren Rhianna Ellis, Ky Hofacket, Cody Schoonover, Justin Schoonover, Jerry Neighbors, Desiree Evrage, Dustin Plourde, Adam Berber and Kimberly Humphries; seven great-grandchildren; sister Frankie Kuykendall of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Fusiler, Jr., Mark Tahala, Jim Plourde, Jr. Morehead, Cameron Thomison and Justin Schoonover.

Visitation was to have been from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at 1 p.m. at C.A. Fortner Lodge No. 1304, 801 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, 77530.

Eva Patrice Bledsoe Steller

Eva Patrice Bledsoe Steller, 62, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at a hospital in Tyler.

Born Sept. 6, 1951 in Dallas, Steller was a housewife and a mother.

She enjoyed bingo and was a volunteer at Mabank schools for a number of years.

She lived in Frankston for 2 1/2 years before moving recently and was married to Chis Steller for the majority of her life.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer and husband Charles Kliebert of Frankston, Lynn Steller and husband Henry; step-son Michael Steller and wife Samantha; step-daughter Shana Harris and husband John; sisters Martha Hodges and husband Roger, Brenda Barker and Cathy Ausmus; brother Mark Bledsoe and wife Edna; 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A barbecue wake will be held at the home of Jennifer and Charles Kliebert at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25.


Winifred Calvin Folmar

Services for Winifred Calvin Folmar, 75, of Tyler, were held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. George Folmar officiating.

Burial followed at Cathedral of the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Folmar passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Tyler.

He was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Frankston to Wade Hamilton and Dixie Elerzine Hughes Folmar.

Winifred was a long time member of Central Baptist Church in Tyler.

He was raised in Frankston and graduated from Frankston High School. After high school, Winifred joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany in 1961.

He worked for Brookshires Grocery Company for 13 years. Mr. Folmar enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing putt putt golf and board games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Folmar is survived by his loving family including his wife of 41 years, Margaret Folmar of Tyler; sister Nixie McMillan of Flint; brother Archie Folmar of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jerry Barlow, Buddy Nolen, Bryan Taylor, Robert McMillan, Leo Schlensker and Bill Aven.

Lloyd Grayson

Funeral services for Lloyd Grayson, 90, of Poynor were held Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Interment followed at Poynor Cemetery.

Mr. Grayson went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, in Athens.

Lloyd was born July 7, 1923, in Newburg, MO.

Lloyd served in the United States Army Air Corp. While in the Army, he was a supervisor for Lang Contractors. He met the love of his life, Ruby Milner, whom he married, and was married to for 66 years.

He was the manager at the Poynor Post Plant and retired as a supervisor from Bell Helicopter.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Grayson; parents, Dewey and Myrtle Helms Grayson; grandson, Kevin Grayson; brothers, Gerald, Pattie, and Lois Grayson; sister, Erma Greer; and sister-in-law, Pat Grayson.

Survivors include his son, Tommy Grayson and wife Lois of Poynor; brothers, Lester Grayson and David Grayson, both of Rolla, MO; sister-in-law, Lois Atchison of Poynor; grandchildren, Thomas Grayson, Jr. and wife Angela, Nathan Grayson and wife Angela, Angie Watts and husband Eddie, Rebecca Stanwood and husband Nathan; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Steve Smith, Randy Parker, Carl Abendroth, Ray Alsobrook, Fibber McGee, and Clarence Morton.


John Zorn

Graveside services for John Zorn, 67, of Jefferson were held Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Poynor Cemetery with the Rev. Jessie Cook officiating.

Services were under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Mr. Zorn passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. Zorn was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Harrison County, Texas, son of the late James C. and Geraldine Zorn.

He was a Civil War enthusiast and worked as a correctional officer in the Gurney Unit in Tennessee Colony for many years before retirement.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He loved traveling and especially traveling to the Smokey Mountains.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Zorn of Fairfield; son, Johnny William Zorn, Jr. and wife Dawn of Kilgore; sister, Zona Mae Mora of Bryan and Jimmy Dean Gisel of Cedar Hill; grandson, Llandon John Zorn and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brothers, James Winford Zorn and Tommy Zorn.


Jimmy Barnett

Graveside Services for Jimmy Barnett, 58, of Poynor, were held Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at the Poynor Cemetery.

Mr. Barnett passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Tyler, Texas.

Jimmy Ray Barnett was born Jan. 11, 1956, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Freddy Yates Barnett and Oleva Pauline Humphrey Barnett.

Jimmy was an avid guitar player and loved teaching people of all ages his art.

He also was an accomplished guitar and amp builder who specialized in making cigar box guitars. He loved animals especially his dogs Coalie and Cotton. Jimmy was a loving father and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Adriene Barnett of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, Robin Claytor and husband Chris of Frankston; one brother, Mike Barnett and wife Janie of Spring Hill, Florida; 3 step-sisters, Sheri Welsh of Knoxville, Tennessee, Karen Jackson of New Market, Tennessee, and Debra Tindell of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Services were under direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.


Almond E. Clark

Funeral services for Almond E. Clark, 84, of LaRue were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. George Folmar officiating.

Burial followed at Wofford Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mr. Clark passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, in Frankston.

Almond was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Frankston.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and of Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville. He was a truck driver for long haul.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Onetia Clark; stepson, James Bryant Clark, II; brother, Edward D. Clark; sisters, Elzada Pagitt and Edna Mae Clark.

Survivors include his brother, Louie Clark and wife Linda of Elkhart; sister, Becky Caddell and husband Rick of Frankston; sister-in-law, Jennette Clark of La Porte; grandson, James Bryant Clark III and wife Kristy of LaRue; great-grandchildren, Treston Clark, Trenton Clark, Rhiannon Glidewell, and Stephanie Owen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers were Alex Caddell, Mike Ewing, Mark Ewing, John Clark, Stephen Jones, Steve Pagitt, and Gary McDonald.


Alma Louise Morris

Funeral services for Alma Louise Morris, 87, of Frankston, were held Friday Jan. 31, 2014, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson with the Rev. Stacy Hinton officiating.

Entombment followed under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

Ms. Morris was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Chickasha, Okla. to Charles and Amanda Morris.

She passed away Jan. 26, 2014, in Frankston.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include son, Jerry Reeks; daughters, Mona Perkins, Cynthia Berry and husband Jackie B.; great-niece, Sky Nael; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Cory Reeks, Kevin Shillings, Jimmy Shillings, Lajuan Hollins, Kevin Jones and Richard Marshall.

Honorary pallbearer was Jackie B. Berry.
