Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Louise Baker

Graveside services for Louise Baker, 77, of Coffee City were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Memoryland Memorial Park, Greenville with Joe Becton officiating. Services were directed by Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.

Mrs. Baker died Wednesday, Dec. 25 in a Jacksonville hospital.

She was born June 8, 1925 in Celeste. Mrs. Baker was employed with her husband of 56 years in the geophysical industry until retirement in Coffee City in 1983. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Aubrey E. Gauntt of Greenville and Andrew Gauntt of Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Aurelia Hicks of Greenville and Alma Wright of Arlington.

Survivors include her husband, John L. Baker of Coffee City; and several nieces and nephews.

Laquita Joy Warrington Burdine

Graveside services for Laquita Joy Warrington Burdine of Irving, a former Frankston area resident, were held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at the Wofford Cemetery, Frankston, with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at the United Methodist Church of Irving, with Pastor George Strickland and Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper, nephew of the deceased and pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Rogers, Ark., officiating. Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She died at her home in Irving, Dec. 20.

Mrs. Burdine was born to Edward Elijah Warrington and Jewel Amanda Russell Warrington in the Goodsonville community near Frankston, Anderson County, on Feb. 3, 1931. She graduated from Frankston High School in 1948 where she was a cheerleader and sang in many high school plays and productions. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, where she was a member of the College Chorus. She later went to work for Titche Goettinger (now Foley’s) in sales and modeling. Following this she worked for Allstate Insurance Co. in the accounting department.

On June 6, 1953, she married Bobby Neal Burdine of Union City, Tenn., at the United Methodist Church of Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jewel Warrington; two older sisters, Lorena Warrington Davis and Louise Warrington Dansby; and two older brothers, Herman Warrington and Billy Joe Warrington.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Burdine of Irving; a daughter, Cindy Burdine Coleman and her husband Russell of Grapevines; two grandchildren, Chris and Andrea; two sisters, Martha Ellen Warrington Hopper of San Antonio and June Warrington Williams of Dallas; two brothers, Ray Warrington of Odessa, and Dudley Warrington of Frankston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Christopher Coleman, grandson; and Kelly Hopper, Jack Williams, Christopher Pipes, Roy Davis and John Stransky, nephews.

Kathleen Reynolds Marshman

A Celebration of Life Service for Kathleen Reynolds Marshman, 85, of Tyler was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Tyler with Rev. David O’Neal officiating.

Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler.

She died Wednesday, Dec. 18, in Tyler.

Mrs. Marshman was born April 21, 1917 in Frankston, youngest of nine children of G.A. and Ella Harp Reynolds. She had lived in 32 different towns covering Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas before moving to Tyler in 1962. Mrs. Marshman was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, former president of the Presbyterian Women, a Bible moderator and taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker and a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, G.A. and Ella Harp Reynolds; husband, Merrill P. Marshman; brothers, Hubert Reynolds, Herbert Reynolds and Claude Reynolds; sisters, Lilyan Hudson, Ruby Sellers, Clara Fox and Anna Lou Reynolds.

Survivors include a sister, Estelle DeLong of Grand Saline; nieces and nephews, James Tomlinson of Houston, Jimmy Reynolds and Kay Gouger, both of Frankston; Jeanne Arnold of Jacksonville, Dr. Herbert Reynolds of Waco, Dorothy Marsters of Corpus Christi, Ann Payne of San Antonio, Catherine Quinn of Austin and Sandra Griffin of Lumberton; also three more generations of nieces and nephews.

Ruth Cely

Funeral services for Ruth Cely, 90, of Frankston were held a 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at First Baptist Church in Frankston.

Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery under direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mrs. Cely died Thursday, Jan. 2, in Houston. She was born Jan. 16, 1912 in Palestine. Mrs. Cely was a retired beauty school instructor and was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Pierce Cely.

Survivors include a son, John Cely of Houston; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Bacon, Johnny Burks, Kenneth Dunklin, Jim Smith, Herbert Riley and J.C. Hicks.

Eunice Dunn

Funeral services for Eunice Dunn, 83, of Tyler were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.J. Mikulek officiating.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery of Tyler under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Ms. Dunn died Saturday, Jan. 4 in Tyler.

She was born Dec. 4, 1918 in Frankston. Ms. Dunn was a waitress and a member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include a brother, Henry Dunn of Tyler; a sister, Marie Wiggins of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Henderson, Chris Griffin, Dallas Wiggins, Harold Henderson, Morris Wiggins and Brian Faulkner.

Louis Lindsey

LARUE — Funeral services for Louis Lindsey, 89, of LaRue were held Wednesday, Jan 8, at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel in Athens with Rev. Edwin McDaniel and Rev. Elvin Adair officiating.

Burial was in the LaRue Cemetery under the direction of the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mr. Lindsey died Monday, Jan. 6, in LaRue.

He was born in Bowie, to the late Oscar Lee and Mattie Beulah Lindsey. He had been a resident of LaRue since 1959. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Palestine.

Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by a son, David Lindsey; a grandson, Jeffery Hardy; four sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elsie Lindsey, LaRue; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Nicky Hardy, Palestine; grandsons, Ronald Hardy of Palestine, Daniel Lindsey of Terrell and Bradley Lindsey of Athens; a sister, Doris Bennie of Fort Worth.

Pallbearers were Ronald Hardy, Michael Holcomb, Daniel Lindsey, Larry Holcomb, James Lindsey and Jerry Lindsey.

Raymond Arthur Tiner

LARUE — Funeral services for Raymond Arthur Tiner, 85, of LaRue were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Chapel of Foster & Brown Funeral Home in Athens with Revs. Howard Thompson and John Green officiating.

Burial was at Davis Cemetery.

Mr. Tiner died Tuesday, Jan. 7, in Tyler.

He was born March 24, 1917 in Henderson County to Lee and Estelle Smith Tiner. Mr. Tiner served in the Army during World War II, retired from Curtis Mathis and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Tiner of LaRue; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara McRae of Athens, Rayford Lee and Juanita Tiner of LaRue, and Raymond Tiner of Athens; a brother, Warren Tiner of Tyler; a sister, Jewel Sisson of Athens; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Martin McRae Jr., John Tiner, Chris Tiner, Terry Buchinger, Bud Simpson, and Larry Anding.

Honorary pallbearers were Marc McRae, Martin McRae Sr. and Joseph Nelson Jr.

Mildred Lovetta Smith

Funeral services for Mildred Lovetta Smith, 89, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. Tom Pesnel officiating.

Burial was at 2 p.m. at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.

Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 8, in Tyler.

She was born Feb. 8, 1913 in Sherman. Mrs. Smith was a seamstress and dress manufacturer, and a member of County Line Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Smith; a daughter, Norma Joyce Smith; and a son, Donald Morrell Smith.

Survivors include a son, Charles Smith of Dallas; daughters, Sybil Fisher and Anita Walker, both of Frankston, and Brenda Bellamy of Red Oak; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jerry Walker, Larry Walker, Brandon Hukill, Lonnie Bellamy and Eddie Coker.

Benny Hanna

Funeral services for Benny Hanna, Port Acres, formerly of Poynor, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel in Beaumont, with Glenn Wise, Danny Brown and Mike Green officiating.

Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Mr. Hanna died Friday, Jan 17, in a Port Acres nursing home.

He was born Aug. 21, 1930 in Poynor. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired self-employed contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hanna; daughter, Carolee Cloud and husband, Randy; sons, Tommy Hanna, Justin Hanna and wife, Suzy, and Reagan Hanna and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Howdy Cloud, Heith Cloud, Joshua Hanna, Nathan Hanna, Chance Hanna, Jacob Hanna, Megan Hanna and Connor Hanna; brother, Reagan Hanna and wife, Arthur Lee; sisters, Ruby Bizzell and husband, Ferrell, Fayrene Dickerson and husband, Preston, all of Frankston, Katrena Reid and twin Betty Parigi; several nephews, nieces and cousins; and sisters-in-law, Loraine Collins and husband, Jim, Sybil Melignano and husband, Zeke and Leslie Bridgers and husband, Kenneth and brother-in-law, Nathan Bibb.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Howdy and Heith Cloud, Joshua and Jacob Hanna, Chance and Connor Hanna and Nathan Hanna.

Honorary pallbearers were brothers-in-law, Ferrell Bizzell, Preston Dickerson, Jim Collins, Zeke Melignano, Kenneth Bridgers and Nathan Bibb.

Larry Goodman

NOONDAY — Memorial services for Larry Lee Goodman, 56, of Noonday, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Crossroads Community Church with Brother Jerry Payne officiating under direction of Advantage Mortuary Services, Tyler.

Mr. Goodman died Thursday, Jan. 23, at a Tyler hospice.

He was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Pert and lived in Noonday for the last seven years. Mr. Goodman was a car salesman and member of Crossroads Community Church.

Survivors include sons, Ryan Goodman and Jason Goodman, both of Noonday, and Gerald Todd of Chandler; daughters, Sabrina Neal of Berryville and Sherri Gaeth of Flint; a sister, Evelyn Trammell of Palestine; and four grandchildren.

Lola Mae Saxon

Funeral services for Lola Mae Saxon, 86, of Frankston, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Assembly of God in Frankston.

Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Frankston under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Saxon died Sunday, Jan. 26, in Tyler.

She was born July 2, 1916 in Frankston. Mrs. Saxon was a retired cook and member of Assembly of God in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Saxon; a son, Maxie Lee; and brothers, Reagan Walker and Rayford Walker.

Survivors include sons, Gerald Saxon of Rusk, and Pat Saxon of Frankston; sisters, Ruth Bell and Bobbie Smith, both of Frankston; and six grandchildren.
