Pauline Hollingsworth

Funeral services for Thelma Pauline Hollingsworth, 82, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Frankston Assembly of God with the Rev. J. A. Griffin and the Rev. Michael Griffin officiating.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Hollingsworth passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in Frankston.

She was born June 2, 1929, in Frankston, Anderson County, Texas.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was a member of the Assembly of God in Frankston. She worked for three newspapers as a linotype operator: The Frankston Citizen newspaper, the Palestine Herald-Press and the Tyler Morning Telegraph. She retired from Frankston Health Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband R. F. “Jack” Hollingworth; son Ronnie Franklin Hollingsworth; parents Reed and Eva George Smith; and brother Elton Smith.

Survivors include her son Rayburn Hollingsworth from Jacksonville, sisters Opaline McDonald of Frankston and Mildred Tillman of Garland, brother Tony Smith of Frankston, three grandchildren Jasen Paul Hollingsworth and wife Candie of Palestine, Rebecca Stevens and husband Kelly of Waxahachie, Misty-Ray Martin and husband Gabe of Milton, Fla., seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Kelly Stevens, Gabe Martin, B.J. Smith, Anthony Corpus, Keith Tillman and Ronnie Myers.

James Wade McKinney

Funeral services for James Wade McKinney, 75, of Frankston, were held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with the Rev. George Folmar and the Rev. Ron Ivey officiating.

Private burial was at New Salem Cemetery near Lake Striker.

Mr. McKinney passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Tyler.

He was born July 11, 1936, in Henderson.

Mr. McKinney was a U.S. postal carrier for 35 years, was ordained as a deacon at the age of 18, and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Nimrod and Gladys Pauline McKinney; sons Randy and Ken McKinney; grandson Erik McKinney; and brother Gus Ray McKinney.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Myrna McKinney of Frankston; sons Keith McKinney of Rowlett, Kevin McKinney and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, and Kim McKinney and wife Liz of New Salem; sisters Jessie Barnes and Carol Sledge both of Henderson; five grandchildren Victoria Nix, Lana McKinney, Bryan McKinney and wife Britian, Nathan McKinney and Jamie McKinney; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Cecil Bunn and wife Rosemary of Alexandria, La.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Hilltop Baptist Church and his grandsons.

Fredrick F. Scholz

Services for Fredrick F. Scholz, 85, of Berryville, will be scheduled at a later date to be held in Berryville, Texas as well as in Illinois.

Mr. Scholz passed away Feb. 11, 2012, in Cherokee County.

He was born July 18, 1926 in Chicago, IL.

Mr. Scholz loved to fly and was a meticulous pilot. He owned his own manufacturing business, was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tyler. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Rosa Hoelzl Scholz; and sisters Billie Gruetter and Rosemary Lach.

Survivors include his wife Dottie Scholz of Berryville; daughters Diane Scholz of Naperville, IL, and Holly Scholz of Aurora, IL; step-son Matthew Galbraith of Batavia, IL; step-daughters Holly Hester of Roanoke, Texas, Julie Lowry of Oswego, IL, and Susan Colwell of Bloomingdale, IL; sister Betty Green and husband Larry of Hudson, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bryant Megason

Bryant Megason, 76, Frankston, passed away on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, in Tyler.

He was born November 12, 1935, in DeKalb, Texas, to the late Horace and Myrtil Johnson Megason.

Survivors include his wife Lorene Megason of Frankston; 5 children Charlotte Galbraith and husband David, Charles Rosh and wife Judith, Renea Megason, Bryant Oneal Megason and wife, Patricia and Connie King; step-children Debra Bragg and Carolyn Johnson; brother Boyce Megason and wife Janet; sister Charcie Easley and husband Jerry; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home in Van.

Harold V. Dressendorfer

Lake Palestine, “Beacon Point” resident Harold V. Dressendorfer passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

The family were to have received friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 pm at Autry Funeral Home, 379 E. Pine St. (Hwy 175) Frankston.

Harold was born April 30, 1930, in Addicks, Texas. Harold lived in Addicks area his entire young adult life. He worked at Exxon for 23 years. In 1967 he opened a family run shrimping/fishing business and seafood house called H and T Seafood in Baytown, Texas. When he retired from the seafood business in 1982 he moved to Lake Palestine in the Berryville area to his property many know as “Beacon Point”.

He and his wife Betty married July 18, 1992. Together they managed “Beacon Point,” a property many loved and continue to enjoy. Harold and Betty were known for their beautiful relationship and dancing. They regularly attended the VFW. It was there that their relationship started and ended. Harold and Betty met at the VFW in Frankston and as fate would have it, Harold suffered a massive heart attack that ended his life while leaving the dance floor with Betty after dancing to their song “Today I started loving you again.”

Harold was a member of the American Legion. He loved to shrimp and fish. He greatly enjoyed the lake front. He was a wonderful dancer and spent most Friday nights dancing with Betty. He was loved by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his brother Lawrence “Dutch” Dressendorfer and grandson Eric Dressendorfer.

He is survived by his wife Betty Dressendorfer; his daughter April Siemer; sons Larry, Glenn, and Cecil Dressendorfer; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 6 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than imaginable.

Pauline ‘Polly’ Hollingsworth

Graveside services for Pauline “Polly” Hollingsworth, 90, of Frankston were held Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Frankston City Cemetery with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Services were under direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mrs. Hollingsworth passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Sherman.

She was born August 13, 1921, in New York, Texas.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Coke Hollingsworth, daughter Patty Jane Morris, and grandson Jason Wayne Popejoy.

Survivors include sons Richard Bobby Hollingsworth and wife Lisa of Kansas City, Mo., and William Paul Hollingsworth and wife Sharon of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; daughters Judy Mort and husband Adam of Moorehead, Minn., Sue Hollingsworth of Plano, Texas, and Peggy Evans and husband John of Tom Bean, Texas; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
