Dealva Boles

Funeral services for Dealva Boles, 75, of Lufkin, were held at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Childress officiating.

Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery near Poynor in Henderson County.

Mrs. Boles was born July 4, 1926 in Bokchito, Okla., the daughter of Minnie Alma (Ferguson) and Henry Ulan Champion.

She died Sunday, Feb. 3, in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Boles was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Formerly of Frankston, she had resided in Lufkin since 1954.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boles.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Robbie and Roy Melim, Ruby and Jim Drake, all of Lufkin, and Donna and Bob Boles of El Dorado, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law, Rondall Louis and Maureen Boles of Lebanon, Ore.; sister, Pearalee Evans of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Susie Champion of McAlister, Okla.; an aunt, Emma Sanders of Huntington; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, NPF Donations Dept., 1501 NW 9th Ave., Miami, Florida 33136-1494.

Jozelle Weesner Trantham

Funeral services for Jozelle Weesner Trantham, 72, of Jacksonville were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Dr. Harold Brunson and Dr. Bruce Webb officiating.

Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Trantham died Friday, Feb. 1, in Jacksonville.

She was born July 23, 1929 in Frankston to the late Grady and Susie Weesner.

Mrs. Trantham attended Lon Morris College. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was retired from Beall’s General offices.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bill Trantham Jr.

Survivors include sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Bearden, and Inez and Norris Starkey, all of Jacksonville; nieces, Paula Pavletich Jones, Pattie Pavletich Blakely and Suzanne Starkey Townsend; and great-nieces and nephews, Carrie Blakely, Raleigh Blakely III and Lesley Bolton.

Pallbearers were Raleigh Blakely Jr., David Townsend, the Rev. Billy Bristow, Raleigh Blakely III, Gerald Burks and Jackson Chandler.

Honorary pallbearers were Norris Starkey, Harvey Hill, Erskine Bristow, D.B. Turner, M.D., and Larry Cunningham, DO.

Bobby Williams

Funeral services for Bobby Williams, 47, of Frankston, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Eddie Hilburn officiating.

Burial was at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in Swearengen Cemetery in Silsbee with the Rev. Raymond McDonald officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Williams died Friday, Feb. 1, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 11, 1954 in Shreveport, La.

Mr. Williams was self-employed in floor covering and was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Myra J. Williams of Frankston; his mother, Opal M. Williams of Jacksonville; sisters, Dindi Ard of Silsbee and Sandra Stone of Lumberton; three nieces, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Pallbearers were Edward Reed, Charles Reed, Lynn Reed, Roy Darnell, Chip McBride and Paul Lee.

Josie Hamilton McDonald

NECHES —Funeral services for Josie Hamilton McDonald, 98, of Neches were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Neches United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Bradley and Charles Grasty officiating.

Burial was in Neches City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. McDonald died Friday, Feb. 1, in a Palestine nursing home

She was born June 22, 1903 in Larissa to William Butler Hamilton and Sarah Ella Hall Hamilton.

Mrs. McDonald was a member of Neches United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy.

She finished high school in Bullard and attended North Texas State Teachers College, Stephen F. Austin University and Sam Houston State University and finished with a degree in education.

Mrs. McDonald taught school in Italy, Mt. Selman and Neches. While teaching in Neches she met and married Brice McDonald who owned and operated J.C. McDonald & Son Store.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1986; and a son, Bethune F. McDonald.

She is survived by sons, Brice H. McDonald of Neches and Robert McDonald of San Antonio; a daughter, Johnnie Bell Faucett of Neches; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Faucett, Rebecca Stasel, Johanna Faucett, Susie Jimenez, Tommy Kent, Daron McDonald, Craig McDonald and Heather Lotts.

Honorary pallbearers were Laura McDonald, Scott McDonald and Suzie Campbell.

Dianne Wade Young

PALESTINE — Funeral services for Dianne Wade Young, 55, of Palestine, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home chapel, Palestine.

Mrs. Young died Saturday, Feb. 9, in a Tyler hospice.

She was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Key West, Fla. to J.C. and Lucille Herrington Wade, and grew up in the Brushy Creek/Frankston area.

Mrs. Young was a graduate of Frankston High School and attended Henderson County Junior College. She worked as a nursing home administrator for many years in the Palestine area and later worked at JJ’s Convenience Stores and Stage Stores in Jacksonville.

Survivors include her husband, James Young, Palestine; daughter, Dawn Edwards, Palestine; mother, Lucille Herrington Wade Cooper, Palestine; sisters, Barbara Wade, Houston, and Carol Bishop, Pasadena; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bruce Edwards, Robert Bishop, Jordan Young, Reagan Young, Mark Dean and James Walston.

Carl Thomas Beckham

Funeral service for Carl Thomas Beckham, 76, of Frankston were held Friday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston with Rev. Tom Pesnell officiating.

Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Jewett.

Mr. Beckham died in a Tyler hospice Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 9:30 a.m.

He was a Baptist and a member of County Line Baptist Church of Bullard. Mr. Beckham was born Dec. 27, 1925 at Sour Lake, Texas. He was a retired steel worker and formerly of Houston. He retired in 1983 after 33 years with Armco Steel.

Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Beckham of Frankston; one son, Charles Thomas Beckham of Houston; three daughters, Brenda Cathey and Sheila Beckham, both of Frankston, and Barbara Dick of Jacksonville; one sister, Virginia Richardson of Houston; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Betty L. Windham

Funeral services for Betty L. Windham of Balch Springs were held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Grove Hill Chapel in Dallas.

Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Windham died Monday, Feb. 4.

She was born Aug. 25, 1922 in the Frankston area.

Mrs. Windham was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Windham and a son, Jerry Windham.

Survivors include sons, Mike and Randy Windham; grandsons, Preston, Michael, Gerald and Dwayne; granddaughters-in-law, Christine and Kirsten; great-grandchildren, Eric and Daniel and others; aunt, Evelyn Ramsey and many cousins.

Gerald Ray ‘Jr.’ Gray

Funeral services for Gerald Ray “Jr.” Gray, 40, of Flint were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Randall Anderson officiating.

Burial was at the Union Grove Cemetery near Jacksonville.

Mr. Gray died Sunday, Feb. 10, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 13, 1961 in Long Beach, CA, and was a Baptist.

Survivors include sons, Justin Gray and Austin Gray, both of Frankston; his grandmother, Loreta Gray of Jacksonville; a brother, Larry Gray of Jacksonville; sisters, Paula Thorne and Sandra Wells, both of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Travis Merle Whiteley, Joe Throne, James Whiteley, Larry Sharp, Robert Gray and John Sharp.

Honorary pallbearers were Roy Pemberton, Bud Garrett, Phillip Murphy, Donald Sharp and Larry Roberson.

James B. Berry Sr.

Graveside services for James B. Berry, Sr., 86, of Frankston were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Roselawn Park in Palestine with Johnny Anders officiating.

Services were under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mr. Berry died Monday, Feb. 18 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born July 10, 1915 in Elkhart. Mr. Berry had lived in Frankston for 30 years.

Mr. Berry was a Right of Way Agent with Texas Highway Department, retiring after 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a son, Billy T. Berry; a brother, Speegle Berry; and a sister, Mary Belle Bremer.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Berry of Frankston; two sons, J.B. Berry of Tyler and Don Berry of Frankston; a brother, Howard Berry of Big Spring; seven grandchildren, Trey Berry of Dallas, Tim Berry of Tampa, Florida, Philip Berry and Laura Squires of Palestine, Bill Berry, Jeffrey Berry of Palestine and Jamie Berry of Waco; and eight great grandchildren.

Rev. Clifton Otto Eubanks

PALESTINE — Funeral services for the Rev. Clifton Otto Eubanks, 73, of Palestine, formerly of Jacksonville and Frankston, were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston with the Rev. Mitchell McRight officiating.

Burial was in Garden Oaks Memorial Park, Berryville.

Rev. Eubanks died Friday, Feb. 15, in Tyler.

He was born Aug. 26, 1928 in Athens, Ala. to the late Calvin and Odell Eubanks.

Mr. Eubanks worked at Conoco Oil in Dallas for 15 years and was owner of Eubanks Exxon Station in Palestine from 1985 to 1993. He was minister of West Side Baptist Church of Jacksonville from 1990 to 1995, and was a member and Sunday School teacher at Lakeside Baptist Church, Lake Palestine.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Eubanks of Palestine; step-sons, Donnie Ray Overall of Neches and Rickie Lynn Overall of Frankston; a brother, Eugene Eubanks of Athens, Ala.; a sister, Wilma Tribble of Athens, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmie Lee Larkin

Funeral services for Jimmy Lee Larkin, 53, of Streetman were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Winscott Road Funeral Chapel in Benbrook.

Mr. Larkin died Tuesday, Feb. 12, in an Arlington hospital.

He was born April 29, 1948 in Cisco. Mr. Larkin was a 1966 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington. He was a computer analyst.

Mr. Larkin was employed by Lone Star Bank and was owner of “My Brother’s Place” in Streetman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Larkin.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Larkin; a son, Justin Lee Larkin of Streetman; daughters, Jocelyn Lea Larkin of Streetman, Cynthia Ann Larkin and Cristi Lyn Huntington of Jefferson; his mother, Ann Larkin of Athens; brothers, Rick Larkin of Frankston and Marty Larkin of Fort Worth; sisters, Pam Moore of Fort Worth and Tina Horn of Arlington; grandchild, Madison Paige Huntington; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

It is suggested that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.

Frances Howard Todd

Funeral services for Frances Howard Todd, 71, of Frankston were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Chris White and Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery under direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Todd died Thursday, Feb. 21, in a Tyler hospital.

She was born May 2, 1930 in Glencoe, AL.

Mrs. Todd was a sales person for A.W. Webb for 12 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Frankston.

Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Steven Todd.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Todd of Frankston; son and daughter-in-law, Dwane and Margie Todd of Sugarland; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Chris Campbell of Plantersville; a brother, Charles O. Howard of Southside, AL; sisters, Imogene Martin and Mary Lou Hamrick, both of Glencoe, AL; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Austin Todd, Bynum Campbell, Bill Cook, Jim Paul, George Cox and J.C. Hicks.

Robert D. ‘Bob’ Dansby

CHANDLER — Graveside services for Robert D. “Bob” Dansby, 60, of Chandler, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Fincastle Cemetery near Poynor with the Rev. Benny Walker officiating, under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. Dansby died Saturday, Feb. 23, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Carlsbad, N.M.

Mr. Dansby was director of International Development for Petrofac LLC. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Dansby of Chandler; son, Josh Daniel Dansby of Chandler; daughters, Leah Dansby, Lisa and Chip Williams, Jennifer Dansby Green, all of Bullard; mother, Imogene Dansby of Frankston; brothers, Richard “Dick” Dansby of Frankston and James “Bo” Dansby of Whitehouse.

Honorary pallbearers were Pee Wee Forester, Jim Goodwin, Stoney Burke, Brian Forester, Ralph Martin, Don Forester, Bill Harden, Robert Magee and employees of Petrofac LLC.

Albert Boggs

Funeral services for Albert Boggs of Longview were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with the Rev. John Cole officiating.

Interment followed at the Mixon Cemetery.

Mr. Boggs died Monday, Feb. 25, in Longview.

He was born Sept. 2, 1918 in Mixon where he grew up and married Christine Jolly of Mixon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. In later years he served as commander of the Frank G. Owens Chapter 125 of the DAV, commander of the East Texas Chapter 156 of the CCC, and Explorer Scout Leader and as a Captain in the Tyler Police Reserve.

Mr. Boggs was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church of Frankston.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Burley Buel and Fannie Mae Willingham Boggs, two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Dale and Becky Boggs of Forney and Paul and Glenda Boggs of Gilmer; one sister, Vivian Hendrick of Mixon; one brother and sister-in-law, B.B. and Marie Boggs of Mt. Selman; five grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.

Nelva Darnell Blount

Funeral services for Nelva Darnell Blount, 85, Berryville were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. Jerry Carroll officiating.

Burial was in Earle’s Chapel Cemetery near Jacksonville.

Mrs. Blount died Monday, Feb. 25 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 2, 1916 in Carthage. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Sue Darnell of Frankston; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
