Zelia Woolverton

Graveside services for Zelia Delzenia (Jackie) Cely Woolverton, 89, of Frankston are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Frankston City Cemeterywith David Lawson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mrs. Woolverton died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 in a private nursing home in Lubbock.

She was born Dec. 10, 1918 in Louisiana to the late John and Frances Antee.

Jackie was a long-time resident of Frankston and enjoyed many years of fishing in Lake Palestine with her husband and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, B. Dee Woolverton and twelve brothers

and sisters.

Survivors include nieces, Jean Floyd and Juanita Parsons of Brownfield, Barbara Lawson of Lubbock, Marie Polly of Oklahoma and Kaye Weeks of Frankston; nephews, Joe G. Burgamy of Poynor and Kenneth Antee of Alexandria, La. and several other nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Burgamy, Jason Burgamy, James Griffith and Jimmy Nichols.

The family was to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, and at 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Virginia Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Nowell Jones of Frankston, 80, were held Saturday, Nov. 29, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial was to follow at Frankston City Cemetery in Frankston.

Mrs. Jones passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 in Tyler.

She was born July 26, 1928 in Chandler, Texas. Mrs. Jones was a Baptist and was employed at Kip’s Restaurant as a waitress.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Benjamin Nowell and mother, Alice Lee Terrell Nowell.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Billy Dean Jones of Frankston; son, Kenneth Micheal Thedford; daughter, Diane Carroll Jones of Noonday and sixgrandchildren.

Winifred McKee

Graveside services for Winifred McKee, 90, of Frankston were held Sunday, Nov. 30, at Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville, with the Rev. Kenn Somerville officiating.

Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. McKee passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 in Tyler. He was born Jan. 9, 1918 in Cushing, Texas to Walter Dean McKee and Florence Beth SpeerMcKee.

Mr. McKee served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston where he served as a Deacon and was a retired United States Postal Service employee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel McKee of Frankston; daughters, Freddie McKee Gallas and husband Lonnie of Beaumont and Greta McKee Frusha and husband Jeff of Frankston; sisters, Ola Johnson of Brownfield and Lola Mensch of Lamesa; brother, Billy Wayne McKee of Houston; and eight grandchildren.Alpha Rd. Willie Pierson

Services for Willie Mae Jones Pierson, 88, of Frankston were held Saturday, Nov. 29, at Sandflat Baptist Church in Mt. Olive with the Revs. Amiel Marshall, E.A. Ross and Nolan Hightower officiating.

Burial followed in Mt. Olive Sandflat Cemetery under direction of Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pierson died Nov. 26, 2008 in Frankston.

She was born March 26, 1920 in Montalba and attended Montalba public schools.

She was a lifelong resident of the Frankston area.

She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a seamstress and housewife.

She is survived by her husband, R.E. Pierson; daughters, Geraldine Pierce, Duanne Vernon and Maxine Rogers all of Dallas; brothers Emmitt Jones and Robert Vallie Liones; sisters, Jo Anna Duncan of Fort Worth and LaRuth Purvey; grandchildren, Gregory Thomas, Debra Thomas, Sharon Hunter, Derrick Vernon, Gordon Rogers, Gerald Rogers, Karyn Rogers, A.J. Rogers; and 15 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Richard Miller, Oscar L. Burks, Larry McCowan, James McCowan, Robert Smith and Joe N. Reed. Honorary pallbearers were: GregoryThomas, Derrick Vernon, Ricky Eddie Justin Pierce, Gordon Rogers, Gerald Rogers, Eugene Eddie, Areon Thomas and Jarvis Pierce.

Carla White

Memorial services for Carla Jo White, 44, of Frankston, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating.

Mrs. White passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 in Frankston.

She was born Jan. 7, 1964 in Long Beach, Calif. to Raymond Joseph Jacobs and Jackie Carla Thompson Jacobs.

Mrs. White was a homemaker.

Survivors include her father, Raymond Joseph Jacobs of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother, Jackie Carla Jacobs of Frankston; daughters, Sheyenne White and Summer Ann White, both of Boise, Idaho; sister Bobbie Rae Bolton of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and several cousins.

Tom Pierce

Services for Bernice “Tom” Pierce, 91, of Cuney were held Saturday, Dec. 6 at Rock Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Delbert Simpson officiating.

Burial followed in Restland Cemetery in Cuney under direction of Williams Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mr. Pierce died Nov. 29, 2008 in Dallas.

He was born May 25, 1917 in Cherokee County and attended Cuney public school.

He was a longtime resident of Cuney and a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. He was a WW II veteran.

He is survived by four sons, Raymond Pierce of Tyler, Andy Pierce of Dallas, Randall Pierce of Spanaway, Wash., Jerry Pierce of Tacoma Wash.; two daughters, Virginia Harvest of Dallas and Marily McClelland of Cuney; sister, Jessie Marks of Dallas, 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Javier Pierce, Eric McClelland, Timothy McClelland, Jermaine Harvest, Horace Pierce, Jr. and Cornelious Pierce.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Williams, Luke Henderson and Roger Boykins.

Charles Caddell

Graveside services for Mr. Charles Henry Caddell of Frankston, 68, were held Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at Blackjack Cemetery in Henderson County with theRev. Gary Bowman officiating, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Caddell passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 in Tyler, Texas.

He was born February 25, 1940 in Kemp, Texas.

Mr. Caddell was employed in construction in the petroleum industry.

Mr. Caddell is survived by the mother of his children, Jenitta Beck of Hawkins; daughters, Bobbie Marty Caddell, Evelyn Graves Caddell, Alvolena Stinson Caddell, Aldena Myers Caddell all of Hawkins; sons, Dean Beardsley, Joseph Beck both of Hawkins; brothers, Alex (Elbert) Caddell of Leagueville, J. C. Caddell and Ricky Lee Caddell both of Frankston; sisters, Barbara Ann Sanford of Midlothian and Sue Mays of Frankston; friends, Peggy Burt and John Brinkley both of Frankston, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Melba Schochler

Funeral services for Melba Gatlin Schochler, 72, of Palestine, were held Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Holcombe, theRev. Randy Newberry and the Rev. Bob Hampton officiating.

Burial followed in the Concord Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine.

Mrs. Schochler passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1936 in Anderson County to Thomas Jefferson and Leta Myrtle Fitzgerald Gatlin.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a pastor’s wife and a missionary for 34 years in Brazil.

Mrs. Schochler was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Elvin Gatlin.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Lowell Carmen Schochler of Palestine; two daughters, Lori Gayle Cockrell and husband Truitt Jr. of Erin, Tenn.,Leta Schochler White and husband Steve of Longview; one son, Stan Schochler of Mesquite; two sisters, Estelle Mahan and Elda Lou Parrish; and six grandchildren, Lisa Schochler, David White, Justin Cockrell, Christopher Schochler, Nicholas Cockrell and Matthew Schochler.

Pallbearers were J.C. Bearden, David Lee Schochler, Dan Yancey, Dwayne Parrish, Kayne Parrish and Cody Rosier.

Jerrel Wilson

Funeral services for Mr. Jerrel Wilson, 71, of Flint were held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. Doug Washburn officiating.

Burial was to follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, La.

Mr. Wilson passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 in Tyler.

He was born August 4, 1937 in Grundy, Virginia.

Mr. Wilson was employed as a tool and cutter machinist in the manufacturing industry and was a member of the Lakewood Community Church in Frankston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Darol ”Papa” Wilson, mother, Ruby Brown “Granny” Wilson, and first wife Mary Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson Hope of Flint; sons, Darel Wilson and wife Dana of Covington, Jerrel Wilson of Flint; sister, JoyceCarson and husband Don of Keithville; four grandchildren, Luna, Michael, Anthony, Mack and wife Crystal, of Covington and two great grandchildren,Hunter and Emma Rae.

Pallbearers were Mack Wilson, Michael Wilson, Jonathan Walling, Christopher Walling, Casey Kennedy and Chip Smith.

Honorary pallbearer was Leighton Kennedy.

Edna Mae Leverett

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, for Mrs. Edna Mae Leverett, who died on Dec. 5 at Frankston Health Care Center.

The funeral was in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.

Mrs. Leverett was born April 17, 1913, to the late Peter and Catherine Brockhoft in Garden City, South Dakota.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Yankton, S.D. Her home was Lake Palestine in Frankston.

She had been married to her husband and survivor Billy Joe Leverett for 41 years.

Burial was at Restland in Dallas.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Leverett; sons Mark Allen Leverett, Robbie Lee Leverett and Rodney Joe Leverett; three granddaughters; one greatgranddaughter; and two great-grandsons.

Jodie Miller

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jodie Miller of Berryville, 67, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, December 19, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J. A. Griffin and the Rev. George Folmar officiating.

Burial will follow at Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville.

Mrs. Miller passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Jacksonville.

She was born March 29, 1941 in Henderson County, Texas.

Mrs. Miller was a Homemaker and was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe T Smiley and son, David Calvin Bunch.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her mother, Alma Lee Thompson of Corsicana; husband, Wayne Miller of Berryville; daughter, Christie Boggs of Berryville; brothers, JW Smiley of Frankston and Roy Dean Smiley of Dallas; sisters, Judy Kay Harry, Joan Marie Smiley and Kathy Ann Swindle, all of Corsicana; grandsons, William Miller, Austin Boggs and Mason Boggs; granddaughter, Trinity Boggs and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Jim Hanks

Funeral services for Charles Jimmy Hanks, 62, an industrial sheet metal worker from Poynor, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Autry Funeral Home Chapel inFrankston with Vernis Stanaland officiating.

Burial will follow in Poynor Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Hanks will be at 8 p.m.Thursday, Dec. 18, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Hanks, who lived at 20499 County Road 315 in Palestine, died at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler on Monday, Dec. 15.

He was born in Houston on Jan. 7, 1946, to Charles Vernon Hanks and the former Leona Rosnosky. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Hanks, and brother, Roger Wayne Hanks.

Survivors include his mother, Leona Hanks of Poynor; son Eric Hanks of Poynor; daughter Robin and Joe Barrington of Teague; and two sisters, Nancy Campbell of Poynor and Vicky Deal of Poynor; eight grandchildren, Wade, Jonathon, Gena, Erica, Ashley, Heather, Brianna and Brooke; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Jason Smith, Ben Haynes, Wade Barrington, Jacob Haynes and Wendell Stringfield.

B. J. Carpenter

Funeral Services for Mr. B.J. Carpenter, 69, of Jacksonville were held Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Jacksonville with Father Rob Godwin officiating.

Burial followed at Still Waters Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville

Mr. Carpenter passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 in Tyler.

He was born June 21, 1939 in Fort Worth.

Mr. Carpenter was self employed as a horse trainer and was a member of the American Hackney and Saddlebred Associations, Trinity Episcopal Church inJacksonville and a member of the board of directors of The Woods Country Club in Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cleo Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter is survived by his brother, Charles Carpenter of Fort Worth and partner, Cowden Oliver of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Bill Childs, Bill Hooker, Joe Terrell and Jeff Austin Jr.
