Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families. As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Dwight Lynn Lively
Graveside services for Dwight Lively, 54, of Frankston were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at Garden Oaks Cemetery in Berryville with Rev. Eddie Hilburn officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.
Mr. Lively died Friday, Nov. 26 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 14, 1950 in Houston.
Mr. Lively was an insurance adjuster. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankston and a member of the Swift Masonic Lodge #678.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lively of Frankston; daughters, Ginger Lively Steed and husband Brandon of Crandall, Candy Lively Taylor and husband Paul of Frankston; brothers, Lorin Lively of Conroe; grandchildren, Jasper Taylor and Wyatt Taylor, both of Frankston; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Masons.
Donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas.
Stephen Lookabaugh
LARUE — Funeral services for Stephen Ray Lookabaugh, 33, of LaRue, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Athens.
Burial was in the Athens City Cemetery under direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Lookabaugh died Friday, Nov. 26 in Tyler.
He was born June 26, 1971 in Athens. He was a graduate of Eustace High School and Trinity Valley Community College. Mr. Lookabaugh worked for Lookabaugh Construction Co. for several years and was most recently a supervisor for RPR Construction Co. in Tyler.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Wanda Junell, and Brient Lookabaugh.
Survivors include his daughter, Kylee Faith Lookabaugh; mother and stepfather, Sharon and Forrest Crawford of Palestine; father and stepmother, Kenneth and Judy Lookabaugh of LaRue; brothers, James Lookabaugh of Cross Roads and Kenneth Lookabaugh of Tyler; a sister, Heather Vanover of LaRue; grandparents, Vera Lookabaugh of Athens and Susie Dunklin of Frankston; one nephew and one niece.
Pallbearers were Shannon Cravey, Mark Gartrell, Chance Dingler, Ricky Purselly, Nathan Davis, Thomas Goodell, Rick LaCour and Kevin Session.
Honorary pallbearers were Cameron Cravey, Troy Abbot, Robert Cook, Darren McCracken, Tony Pryor, Eric Perkins, Aaron Boswell, Billy Brewer, David Boles and Harvey Brown.
John L. Baker
Graveside services for John L. Baker, 84, of Frankston were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville with Rev. Martha Murchison officiating.
Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.
Mr. Baker died Tuesday, Nov. 30, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Jan. 17, 1920 in Prosper.
Mr. Baker was a surveyor in the oil industry and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Baker; a brother, J.W. Baker; parents, William M. Baker ad Damia Elizabeth Robertson Baker.
Survivors are sisters, Gladys Glover of Springfield, Va. and Kay Crawford of Kemp; a brother, Woodrow Baker of DeSoto; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlcie Little
LAKE PALESTINE —Funeral services for Charlcie Beatrice Little, 89, of Lake Palestine were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Cason Monk Metcalf Funeral Directors’ Sunday Chapel in Nacogdoches, with Brother James Engle officiating.
Burial was in Little Cemetery in Chireno.
Mrs. Little was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Nacogdoches County to Josie and Charlie Smith.
She worked at the Rusk State Hospital in the 1930’s, was a longtime resident of the Jacksonville and Berryville areas, and retired from the Texas Department of Corrections.
Mrs. Little was a member of the HillTop Baptist Church, Berryville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Little, in 1974; and a daughter, Carrie Sue Burkhalter, in 1997.
Survivors include her sister, Lottie Gardner of Tyler; one granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Jack Whitfield, Gebow Adkinson, Roger Bell, Brent Gardner, Matt Gardner, Michael Brown and Bert Humphries.
Honorary pallbearers were Nolan Smith and Tucker Smith.

Avie McDonald
Funeral services for Avie Smith McDonald, 90, of Frankston were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with Pastor J.A. Griffin officiating. Burial followed in Wofford Cemetery, Frankston.
Mrs. McDonald died Saturday, Dec. 4, in Frankston.
She was born April 18, 1914 in Martin Springs.
Mrs. McDonald was a seamstress and a member of Assembly of God in Frankston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry McDonald in April 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy J. McDonald of Frankston; a sister-in-law, Julia Smith of Frankston; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Bud Jones, Greg Smith, Kenneth Weesner, John McDonald, Reagan Weesner, Harold Weesner, Oneal Smith and Farris Smith.
Billy Jack 'Bill' Dickerson
Graveside services for Billy Jack “Bill” Dickerson, 72, of Jacksonville were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the Poynor Cemetery with Rev. Robert Collins officiating.
Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.
Mr. Dickerson died Tuesday, Dec. 7, in Tyler.
He was born April 16, 1932 in Poynor, son of B.C. “Jack” Dickerson and Oma Dickerson.
Mr. Dickerson was an auto mechanic. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1955 aboard the U.S.S. John H. Bole No. 755. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poynor.
Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by his wife, Vilois Reed Dickerson; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Dickerson; his parents; brothers, Glenn Edward Dickerson, Joe Mack Dickerson and Virgil Clayton Dickerson; and a nephew, Clay Dickerson.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Melissa Dickerson of Lindale; daughters, Sandra Dickerson, Jan Dickerson and Mary Dickerson, all of Frankston, and Donna Dickerson of Chandler; a sister, Alma Dee Tobin of Poynor; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Les Townley, Neeley Dickerson, Laney Minton and Larry Joe House.
Ruby Cates Burks Dunn
MABANK — Funeral services for Ruby Cates Burks Dunn, 81, of Mabank, formerly of Frankston, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston with the Revs. Grover Talbert, Royce Barber and J.A. Griffin officiating.
Burial was in the Frankston City Cemetery under direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dunn died Monday, Dec. 13, in Athens.
She was born Oct. 19, 1923 in Walnut Grove in Smith County.
Mrs. Dunn was retired from Trane Co. as a machine operator and attended the First Baptist Church in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Tom Frank Burks of Frankston; and an infant brother.
Survivors include her husband, Edward V. Dunn of Mabank; a daughter, Carolyn J. Carroll of Henderson; a step-son, Gary Dunn of Tyler; a step-daughter, Sharon Reynolds of Prosper; sisters, Violet Davis of Gladewater and Eathel Mitchell of Tyler; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Burks Joplin, Ronia Joan Cullum and Jayne Ellen Germany; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
