Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families. As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

John Locke
John Locke found his way to his real home into the loving embrace of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Aug. 5, 2022.
He rested peacefully in knowing he was soon to be reunited with many friends and family who finished their race ahead of him. He was especially eager to meet up with his granddaughter, Sloan Olivia Schubert, who he has missed for nine years.
He held dearly to his countless fond memories of those he had known, befriended and worked with throughout his life and he especially valued all the wisdom he had gleaned from each and every one.
John was a good man in every way that matters. He deeply loved, fiercely protected and faithfully supported his wife, Terri, of 39 years. John’s faith was contagious, his laughter easy and his cheerful countenance a gift to many.
Left behind for now missing him terribly and trying to continue his goodness are his daughters and sons Jessica and Chad Walters, Jamie and Brady Schubert and Julie and Justin Krebs and grandchildren Ryan Walters (special friend Holly), Grace Walters, Ayla and Briggs Schubert and Kaebry and Cooper Krebs, and wife Terri.
Also surviving are his parents, Kenneth and Mary Ann Locke of Frankston; his siblings, K.W. and Alisa Locke of Frankston, Karen (Locke) and Doug Wallace of Navasota and Anita and Kenneth Duesterhoft of Frankston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022 at Brenham Memorial Chapel with the interment to follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Dirk Weatherly, Mike Burnham, Chad Walters, Brady Schubert, Justin Krebs and Ryan Walters. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Sallach, Jason Noska and the employees of Emerson PIC Brenham.

Aline Fail
Funeral services for Aline Fail, 77, of Palestine were held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Howard officiating. Burial followed at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Fail passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born in McKinney on July 4, 1945, to Walter L. McDuff and Nellie Mae Albright.
Aline was a member of The Eastern Star and Basset Road Baptist Church. In 1964, she earned her diploma from Palestine High School. Aline made the proud decision to return to school in order to acquire her LVN. Later, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Family was incredibly important to Aline; her grandchildren were especially cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. and Nellie Mae McDuff; and son, Walter Keith. Aline is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jimmie Fail; daughter, Loretta Ward and husband Shawn; sons, Jimmie Lee “Bo” Fail, and Jeremy “Jar” Fail and wife Kirstin; brother, Willis McDuff and wife Joan; grandchildren, Tad “TJ”, Bethany, Heather, Jimmie Lee Jr., Shelby, Jerry, and Sarah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and additional siblings, Mary (deceased), Charles “Jiggs”, Lois, Rickey, Phillis (deceased), and Pam; along with five great-grandchildren.

Reba Jo Hicks
A funeral service for Reba Jo Hicks, 104, is scheduled 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with Bro. Scott Wiley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Reba’s family from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Reba was born May 11, 1918 and entered into eternal life on Aug. 17, 2022.
She enjoyed being a substitute teacher in Frankston and LaPoynor and loved working in her flower garden. Mrs. Hicks was an avid proponent of maintaining the beauty of Frankston City Park and devoted much of her time to the Frankston Depot Library and Museum.
She was preceded in death by parents, Granville and Dulia Mae Billingsley; husband, Jackson Clarence “J.C.” Hick Jr.; her sisters, Gwen Cook Boyett and Dixie Cox; and her brother, Granville Marsh “Red” Billingsley.
Left to cherish Reba’s memory are her children, Jack Hicks and wife Carolyn of Dallas, Steve Hicks and wife Caroline of Bradford, Joe Hicks and wife Sarah of Frankston, and Judy Bacon and husband Drew of College Station. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Hicks, Michael Dear, Matt Hicks, Scott Neill, Daniel Shepherd, Max Fisher, and Cade Snowden. Honorary pallbearers are Wade Cook, Trent Cook, Keith McDonald, Kevin McDonald, Trey Bacon and Bryson Bacon.
The family would like donations made to any of the following: Frankston City Cemetery, Frankston Garden Club, Frankston Library, or any place of your choice.
Kelvin D. Henderson
Graveside services for Mr. Kelvin Henderson, 46, Palestine, are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022 at Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Frankston under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mr. Henderson was born Oct.28, 1975. He passed away Aug. 26, 2022.
Public viewing will be Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home of Tyler Chapel.
