We will add pictures to archived obituaries from the print version of The Citizen newspaper prior to September 2019 when available. Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Donna Marie Pryor Raska

Donna Marie Pryor Raska of Needville, Tex., daughter of a Frankston couple, died on Aug. 2, 2010, in her home.

She was 52 years old.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, in Rosenberg, Tex., with burial to follow in Rosenberg.

Donna was the daughter of Doug Pryor of Frankston and the step-daughter of Darlene Pryor.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, David Raska, and her brother, David Pryor.

She is survived by her father and step-mom, Doug and Darlene Pryor of Frankston, and two children of Needville.


Artie Mae Lovelady Peterson

Memorial services for Mrs. Artie Mae Lovelady Peterson are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with the Rev. Ron Ivey and the Rev. Steven Palmer officiating.

Mrs. Peterson passed away at the age of 74 on Aug. 4, 2010 in Frankston.

Artie Mae was born October 7, 1935 in Freestone County to the late M. Buford Willis and Vernon Louise Sherod Willis. She worked as an LVN until retirement, working for Newburne Hospital in Jacksonville for 23 years and Frankston Healthcare Center in Frankston for 14 years. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Liston William “Jack” Lovelady.

Survivors include her husband of over 27 years, Gerald T. Peterson; children, Karen Diann McGraw, Sharon Elaine Ferrell; step-children, Jodie Peterson, Jimmy Peterson, Beverly Somes, and Donna Albritton; brothers, Ray Willis, Jay Willis, Bill Willis and Blum Willis; sisters, Francine Sanders, Inez Sandifer, Shirley Ratliff and Eleanor Stephens.

Gerald and Artie shared 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In honor of Artie, memorials may be made to Hilltop Baptist Church, 11269 CR 4117, Frankston, 75763.


Frank Harrison, Jr.

Frank D. Harrison, Jr. passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, at age 54 from an accidental drowning at Canyon Lake.

He was born December 2, 1955, in San Antonio and grew up in New Braunfels.

As an adult Frank lived in Frankston, Huntsville and Wimberley Texas, working as a master carpenter.

He is survived by his son Jacob Harrison; wife Jessy and granddaughter Madison of Frankston; and his daughter Rozanna (Harrison) Leddy and her husband Austin Leddy and grandchildren Layne and Lance, stationed at the Marine base in Poway, California, near San Diego and his former wife, Dona Lookabaugh of Wimberley.

He is also survived by his brothers, Joe Dufek, Jesse Patterson, and Paul Patterson and his sisters, Lillie Baubanza, Patsy Dunham and Catherin Wilson.

Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Joy Harrison, a brother James Patterson and mother Corrine Chamberlain.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18, at Puente Funeral Chapel in New Braunfels, 1254 North Business 35.

A wake will be held at Patty Lookabaugh’s house on Friday, August 20, at 7 p.m.


Bessie Gleason

Graveside services for Bessie Gleason, 99, Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Bessie was born April 30, 1911 in Oklahoma to the late Sam and Stella Henderson. She passed away peacefully on August 16, 2010 in Tyler. She is survived by numerous cousins.


Seaman Neeley

Graveside services for Seaman Neeley were held Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Services were officiated by Pastor Ricky Knight.

Neeley, a longtime resident of the Frankston area passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

He was born April 5, 1926.

He is survived by his daughter Sharon Wheetley and son-in-law Lanier of Arlington; son, Mike Neeley of Arlington; sisters, Inez Willbanks, Ruth Willis and Irene Manuel; grandchildren, Robby Harbuck and wife Connie of Poynor, Jeff Harbuck and wife Melinda of Frost, Jeremy Neeley and wife Nora of Irving, Cody Neeley of Irving, Amber Dixon of Arlington; and great grandchildren, Ryan Harbuck, Holly Harbuck, Ethan Harbuck, Caleb Harbuck, Miranda Maggard, Alex Harbuck, Taylor Carr and Mia Neeley.


Barkley Luce

Services for Barkley Luce, 74, of Frankston and formerly of Palestine, were held Sunday, Aug. 22, at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Don Harvey officiating.

Burial followed in McCarter Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster in Palestine.

Mr. Luce died Thursday, Aug. 19, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

He was born March 6, 1936 in Grapeland to Barney Moore and Verna Jeanette English Luce.

Mr. Luce was a self-employed paint contractor for many years in Palestine and surrounding communities.

He was an avid Grapeland Sandies fan and loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carroll Luce and Buford Luce.

Mr. Luce is survived by his wife, Jean Luce of Frankston; sons, Paul Luce and wife Annette of Lufkin, and Brandon Luce and girlfriend Shelly Odom of Frankston; two sisters, Martha Kaudelka and husband Rudy of Palestine, and Janie Jordan and husband Jackie of Lufkin; two brothers, Billy Luce and wife Lenora and Winston Luce and wife Eddie, all of Palestine; seven grandchildren, Cody Luce, Morgan Luce, Maurice Luce, Breanna Luce, Stormi Luce, Kristin Loya and Carly Luce Mack; one great grandson, Caiden Luce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Stewart Luce, Jeff Luce, Derrick Kaudelka, Logan Luce, Cody Luce and Jimmy Luce.

Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Luce, Jamie Luce, Danny Luce, Rudy Kaudelka, Jeff Jordan, Joey Ives and Tony Ives.
