Don Larson

Graveside services for Don Larson, 38, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the Reese Cemetery with Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating. Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Larson died Monday, July 24, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 29, 1961 in Jacksonville.

Mr. Larson was a rancher and dairyman and a member of the Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewie and Lillian Larson, and brother, Ronnie Larson.

Survivors include his wife, Candy Larson of Frankston; a son, Emanuel Rane Larson of Frankston; a daughter, Lianna Wyatt Larson; a brother, Randy Larson of Tyler; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vernell McCann

Funeral services for Vernell McCann of Jacksonville were held at Sweet Union Baptist Church Thursday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Karl Hockenhull officiating with burial in the Jacksonville City Cemetery under the direction Mercy Funeral Home.

Mr. McCann died July 30 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born in Marlin, and graduated from Booker T. Washington School and moved to Dallas and graduated from Mortuary Science School.

He pursued a profession as mortician and funeral director at Lott's Mortuary and Crawford Funeral Home, Dallas from Jacksonville from 1959 to August 1986. He was mortician and funeral director in charge at Mercy Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. States Army. He was a member of Sweet Union Baptist Church of Jacksonville and a retired funeral director and mortician.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jean McCann, Jacksonville; mother-in-law, Eunice Jackson, Jacksonville; one son, James Henry McCann, Dallas; one godson, Christopher "Chris" Ellis, Jacksonville; one brother, Joseph McCann, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Ernestine Hayes, Dallas and Verlene Garrett, Dallas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bradford Armstead, Ivory Armstead, Preston Armstead, Gerald Hayes, Stanley Hayes, Elvin Hayes, Rovis Ray Loftin, Ricky Loftin, Dennis Williams, David McCann and Joseph McCann Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were the Sweet Union Baptist Church deacons and members of the Progressive Lodge #357.

Eddie Anderson

Funeral services for Eddie Lee Anderson, 35, of Frankston were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Caudle Rutledge Funeral Home chapel, Lindale with the Revs. Don Herring, A.J. Louis and Dewayne Malone officiating.

Burial was in Lindale City Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson died Friday, Aug. 4, near Terrell.

He was born Aug. 14, 1964 in Beaumont and lived in Tyler and Chandler prior to moving to Frankston. He worked for Velocity Express in Tyler.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Anderson, Frankston; daughter, Ashley Anderson, Frankston; mother, Letha Smith, Tyler; brother, Clifford Anderson, Chandler; sisters, Karen Ramsey, Mineola, and Sharon Shackelford, Quitman; one nephew and four nieces.

Pallbearers were Larry Carlisle, Bob Burgess, Lee Praytor, Robert Anderson, Richard McLarty and David Curtis.

Clenton Thomas Williamson

Funeral services for Clenton Thomas Williamson, 84, of Tyler, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler.

Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Williamson died Sunday, Aug. 6.

He was born April 20, 1916 in Frankston to Albert and Maudie Williamson.

He married Effie Marie Boles in December 1938.

Mr. Williamson served in the United States Army's 311th Combat Engineering Battalion. After his discharge from the Army in 1946, he settled in Tyler to continue his love of building. He established Clint's Cabinet Shop in 1953, which he continued to operate until his retirement in 1998.

Mr. Williamson was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Effie Marie Williamson, Tyler; daughter, Sharon Cromer, Tyler; son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Becky Williamson, Bryan; twin brother, Benton Williamson, Crockett; sister, Cordelia Smelley, Blanchard, LA; grandchildren, Kevin Walker and wife, Heather, Chris Walker, Jason Williamson and wife, Shannon, all of Tyler, Clenton Tyler and Tia Williamson, College Station; and great-grandsons, Peyton Walker and Weaver Williamson, Tyler.

Pallbearers were Clifford Williamson, Nathan Williamson, Charles Williamson, Mike Wisnoski, Bill Smelley and Ronnie Smelley.

Harold Levassar

Funeral services for Harold Levassar, 63, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Frankston, with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Mr. Levassar died Thursday, Aug. 10, in a Jacksonville nursing home.

He was born March 31, 1937 in Frankston to the late Burtis and Lillie Bell Levassar.

Mr. Levassar was a pipefitter and surveyor with Jerry Jones Surveyors. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burtis and Lillie Bell Levassar, and sisters, Mary Ruth Wilbanks and Lois Rae Cash.

Survivors include a son, Jason Levassar of Frankston; a brother, Sarel Levassar of Amarillo; sisters, Betty Miller of Frankston and Omellia Levassar of Tyler; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Gregg Levassar, Jerry Jones, Steve Jones, Melvin Bizzell, Oneal Smith and Bill Harden.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Dickerson, Dan Hunter, Ronnie Henderson and R.J. Grubbs.

Adjie 'Big Daddy' Crear Sr.

Funeral services for Adjie "Big Daddy" Crear Sr., 60, of Frankston were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Frankston High School Auditorium with the Rev. T.L. Walker officiating.

Burial was in Mount Olive Sand Flat Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

He was born Feb. 3, 1940 in Frankston and was a lifelong resident of Anderson County.

Mr. Crear attended Carver High School and was a member of Mount Olive Sand Flat Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Crear of Frankston; sons, Adjie Crear Jr. of Frankston and Christopher Crear of Austin; sister, Lafaye Hall of Frankston; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Cleophas Holland, Travis Holland, Jerry Jiles, Jimmy Donnell, Jesse Johnson and Deamy Hatton.

William F. 'Bill' Reid

Funeral services for William F. "Bill" Reid, 76, of Tyler were held at 10:30 Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Glenwood Church of Christ with Tommy King and Edwin Rasco officiating.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home,Tyler.

Mr. Reid died Monday, Aug. 7, in Tyler.

was born Oct. 28, 1923 in E. Boston, Mass. He had resided in Tyler for 40 years and was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ.

Mr. Reid retired from Trane-Parts Department and the U.S. Naval Reserve. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of Tyler Masonic Lodge 1233, Sharon Shrine Temple, Sharon Temple Clown Unit, G.E.-Trane Retirees Club and a volunteer of East Texas Food Bank.

Mr. Reid was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John H. Reid, and one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Hynes.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Katrena Hanna Reid of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Sam Lackey of Whitehouse; brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Isabel Reid of Monrovia, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ann Reid of Duxbury, Mass.; grandson, Spencer Lackey of Whitehouse; granddaughter, Lindsey Lusk of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe and Jean Alberti and Ed and Jane Gallagher.

Local relatives include sisters-in-law, Ruby Bizzell and Fayrene Dickerson of Frankston.

Damon Shults

Funeral services for Damon Shults, 41, of Frankston were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel in Palestine with the Revs. Gerald Wright and Earl Little officiating.

Burial was in Brushy Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Shults died Friday, Aug. 11, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 7, 1959 in Farmington, N.M. to DeWayne and Anna French Shults.

Mr. Shults was self employed in the pool construction business.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Leslie Penny in 1997, and a brother, Stephen Shults in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jean Hanna Shults of Frankston; sons, Derrick, Dustin and Devon Shults, all of Frankston; parents, DeWayne and Anna Shults of Brushy Creek; sister, Brenda Reevs of Brushy Creek; and a brother, Kevin Shults of Garland.

Johnny Little

BROWNSBORO-Funeral services for Johnny Little, 48, of Brownsboro, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at Calvary Baptist Church, Brownsboro, with the Rev. Stephen Nipp officiating.

Burial was in LaRue Cemetery under direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home, Athens.

Mr. Little died Thursday, Aug. 10, in Tyler.

He was born Sept. 3, 1951, in Mount Pleasant to the late Ernest Jackson and Addie Drew Little.

Mr. Little was a roofer and member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Glen Little.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Little of Brownsboro; a step-son, Christopher Farrah of Tyler; a sister, Addie Jo Curry of LaRue; brothers, Coy Hayden Little of Frankston, Bobby Jack Little of Athens, and George Wayne Little of Brownsboro; and nieces and nephews.

Andrew Duncan

Private graveside services for Andrew Duncan, 78, of Frankston, were held at ll a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, with the Rev. Louie Barron officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Mr. Duncan died Monday, Aug. 14, in Tyler

He was born May 1, 1922, in Ben Wheeler to the late Arvil Dale and Myrtle Wright Duncan.

Mr. Duncan served in the Army Air Corps. He was a safety supervisor for Dallas Transit and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Louise Duncan on May 25, 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Fee, Fort Worth; brothers, Dale Duncan, Dallas, and R.A. Duncan, Lake Tawakoni; sister, Blanche Tyler, Athens; one grandson and two step-grandchildren.

Chris Tippett

Funeral services for Chris Tippett, 37, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial was in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston.

Mr. Tippett died Sunday, Aug. 20 at his residence.

He was born July 20, 1963 in Dallas. Mr. Tippett was a roofer/construction worker.

Survivors include sons, Cody Tippett, Shane Tippett and Chad Tippett, all of Frankston; his mother, Kay Tippett, of Frankston; brothers, Jeff Tippett of Frankston, and Douglas Cousin of Dallas; sister, Gina Wofford of Frankston, Charlotte Tippett and Evelyn Tippett, both of Dallas; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Shonda Croxton, of Dallas.

Chad Williford

Private graveside services for Chad Williford, 38, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Dabbs Cemetery south of Frankston with Rev. Charles Grasty officiating.

Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. Williford died Saturday, Aug. 19, at his residence.

He was born July 4, 1962 in Lufkin.

Mr. Williford was a self employed carpenter and a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Williford, and grandparents, Fred and Lillian Dabbs.

Survivors include two daughters, Sutton Williford and Piper Williford, Frankston; mother, Janet Dabbs Neal, Frankston; sister, Amber Neal, Frankston; aunts, uncles and cousins.

T. Frank Thompson

Funeral services for T. Frank Thompson, 84, of Lake Palestine, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Lindell Watson officiating.

Burial was in Concord Cemetery near Troup, under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler

Mr. Thompson died Sunday, Aug. 20, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1915, in Overton, to the late Martin Alexander and Rosa Thompson.

Mr. Thompson retired after 39 years as locomotive engineer with Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, where he served as Sunday School teacher and church board member.

He received both his Bachelor of Science and law degree from the University of Houston.

Mr. Thompson served on the Legislative Board and National Appeals Board for Locomotive Engineers. After he retired from the railroad he worked in the legal department of General Headquarters of the Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Mo. He had lived in Frankston since 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Azalea Stuart Thompson, Lake Palestine; sons, Robert Thompson, Tyler, and Thomas Stuart Thompson, Houston; sister, Iva Kee, Houston; five grandchildren, Stephanie Potts, Kristal Rudd, Hilary Keresztury and Angel Vargas, all of Houston, Shane Thompson, Oklahoma City.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Starley Hand, Dewayne Nelson, Lloyd Shannon, Leonard Craig, Tony Petty and Darrel Clark.

William R. Bizzell

Funeral services for William R. Bizzell, 80, of Frankston, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston, with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Frankston.

Mr. Bizzell died Saturday, Aug. 26, in Frankston.

He was born March 15, 1920, in Frankston and served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Bizzell was a farmer and member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Bizzell, Tyler; sisters, Bernice Mosley, Fort Worth, Louise Kendrick, Clinton, Okla., and Annie Smith, Frankston; and nieces and nephews.

Rod Boudreaux

BULLARD- Funeral services for Rod Boudreaux, 67, of Bullard were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Jacksonville Central Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Bruce Webb and Phillip Warren officiating.

Burial was at 3 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery, Dallas, under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. Boudreaux died Saturday, Aug. 26, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1933 in Morgan City, La., and lived in Hurst prior to moving to Bullard in 1985

Mr. Boudreaux retired from The Dallas Morning News and also worked for the Jacksonville Daily Progress and the Athens Review as an advertising director. He then worked as a freelance photographer in the Jacksonville and Tyler area. He formerly had a photography business in Frankston.

Mr. Boudreaux was a member of Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville where he was a member of the choir, active in Central Baptist Nursing Home Ministry and Bible Study Fellowship in Tyler and Gideon. He was a former member of Lions and Kiwanis clubs.

Mr. Boudreaux was preceded in death by his first wife, Jonell Boudreaux in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Boudreaux, Bullard; daughters, Nancy Cano, Rockwall, and Linda Jordan, Fort Collins, Colo.; father, Numa Boudreaux, Houma, La.; mother, Marie Chaisson, Morgan City, La.; brothers, Noel Boudreaux, Mandeville, La., and Randy Chaisson, Morgan City, La., six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Oscar Cano, Dan Youngman, Gerald Kyles, Rodney Curry, Bill Mageors and Landon Jordan.

Vurcy Baham Hughes

Memorial services for Mrs. Vurcy Baham Hughes, 90, of Hearne were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Christian Faith Center in Hearne with the Rev. Ray Commander officiating. Services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Hearne.

She was born in Louisiana on Aug. 25, 1909 to the late Virgil and Ollie Baham, but moved at the age of seven to Texas where she lived the rest of her life.

Mrs. Hughes died Aug. 9 at her home in Hearne.

She was a retired employee of Lane Bryant in Houston, a member of the Christian Faith Center in Hearne, and was an inspirational influence on all who knew her.

She lived for 18 years in Tyler before moving to Hearne two years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Hughes; granddaughter, Vicki Joyce McLane; and two sisters, Ruth Parsons and Veatrice Campbell.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Bettye and Jim Colbert, Lake Palestine, and Margaret Pharis, Hearne; grandchildren, Teresa and Richard Holley of Tyler, Bambi and Doug Simpson of Waller, James Bennett of Pasadena, Sissy Morehead of Hearne, TeJay and Teresa Pharis of Waller, Melanie and Ray Edwards of Hearne, Curtis Pharis of Palestine; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; and a host of friends.

'Frank' Harris

JACKSONVILLE - Funeral services for S.B. "Frank" Harris, 89, of Jacksonville were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with the Rev. F.E. Kennedy officiating.

Burial was in Providence Cemetery.

Mr. Harris died Thursday, Aug. 24, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born April 30, 1911, in Tenaha, and served in the Marine Corps during Word War II.

Mr. Harris was a cement mason and trustee for Disabled American Veterans 3984, Jacksonville.

Dorothy Marie Parker

Funeral services for Dorothy Marie Parker, 82, of Frankston were held Thursday, Aug. 31 at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home Chapel in Denton with Tommy Payne officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Parker died Monday, Aug. 28, in Frankston

She was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Muenster, daughter of Roy and Fannie Marie (Cummings) Pitcock.

She was a day care teacher and member of First Baptist Church.

She married Earnest Frank Parker on July 14, 1937. He died July 6, 1998.

She is survived by one daughter, Thelma Joyce Smith of Flint; one sister, Juanita Law of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Larry George

Graveside services for Larry George, 54, of Frankston were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Cathedral In The Pines in Tyler with Rev. Pete Tjoekler and Rev. Gary Brandenberg officiating.

Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. George died Sunday, Aug. 27, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 1, 1946 in Lansing, Mich.

Mr. George was parts manager for Bob Pagan Ford in Galveston. He was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Elsa George of Frankston; sons, Michael George, Marco George and John Charles George; daughters, Andrea George, Ryan George and Jasmine Galvan; brothers, G.T. Mustang, Bill George and Joseph George; sisters, Shirley Chance and Pat George; and four grandchildren.
