Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Kristy Snider

A funeral service for Kristy Snider, 42, of Frankston, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with Pastor Scott Wiley and Chaplain Gerald Hall officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston.

Visitation will begin on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

She was born on March 30, 1981, in El Paso to Alan Cecil and Georgann Burnham and passed away on April 3, 2023.

Kristy was a servant at heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. This was evident in her involvement with the Frankston Volunteer Fire Department where she served for several years. Her commitment was certainly an example for others to follow. She had a heart for children in hard situations and adored her son Ethan. Kristy loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Kristy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Cecil.

Left to cherish Kristy’s memory are her father, Alan Cecil and wife Marie of Frankston; mother, Georgann Tisdale of Frankston; and son, Ethan Snider of Frankston. Her brothers are Brandon Krahmer of Lubbock and Jason Krahmer of Orange County, California. She is also survived by numerous other extended family and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be David Brumit, Tyler Brumit, Joe White, Nathan White, Randall Parrish, Thomas Parrish, Michael Barr, Kyle Austin and the Frankston Volunteer Fire Department.

Lorene Stivner

A funeral service for Lorene Stivner, 87, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Visitation will begin one hour before. She will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

She was born to Raymond and Emma Miller on Aug. 12, 1935, in Port Arthur, and passed away on April 9, 2023.

She was a nurse for years before owning/operating a water company along side her husband. Lorene loved oil painting and tending to her flower garden. Two of her favorite flowers were lilies and roses. She will be missed for her famous treat jar.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie Stivner; son, Art Stivner; daughters, Nancy MacKinnon, and Dawn Smith; and sisters, Velma Miller and Linda Faye Miller.

Left to cherish Lorene’s memory are her granddaughters, Emily MacKinnon of Austin, and Naomi Linker of Fort Worth, and great grandson, Cooper Linker.

James Lee Gouger

A funeral service for James Lee Gouger, 90, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating. He will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 20, 2023, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

James was born on Jan. 18, 1933, to Frank C. and Willie Mae (Putman) Gouger in Frankston. He was a member of William Foster Masonic Lodge 312 and served as a Mason for more than 60 years. He was also a faithful servant to the Frankston community as mayor for 24 years. James was a patriot and retired honorably from the United States Air Force.

He was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. His smile was contagious, and he was a joy to be around. James possessed a unique and wonderful sense of humor. His main passion in life was his grandkids and great grandkids who he loved being with. James was committed and set a powerful example for others to follow. Being a sacrificial servant to his family, his community, and his country, he was a true blessing and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 67 years, Kay M. Gouger; and brother, W.H. Gouger.

Left to cherish James’ memory are his daughters, Margaret Carr and husband Tommy of Frankston and Donna Richardson and husband J.M. of Frankston; and niece, Pamela Johnson and husband Bill of Streetman, TX. James is also survived by his grandchildren David Richardson (Erin), Chris Carr (Jennifer), Cindi Carr (Bree), and Lee Ann Richardson; 11 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brady, Jaiden, Makenzie, Kelsey, Jacey, Ashlyn, Austin, Jack, Justyce, and Maverick; and one great-great granddaughter, Harper. He will be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family, and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be David Richardson, Brady Richardson, Chris Carr, Jaiden Dillard, Taylor Carr, Austin Carr, Jack Marshall and Maverick Richardson.

Enese Martine Burson Wilson

A memorial service for Enese Martine Burson Wilson, 66, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Frankston with Bro. George Folmar officiating.

She was born on Dec. 5, 1956 and passed away on April 17, 2023.

Enese was a hardworking and family devoted woman. Many that knew her would say that she lived for her family especially her son and grandkids. She always kept busy doing yard work, tending to her beautiful flower garden, creating crafts with her grandkids, or simply sitting out on the lake fishing with her husband.

Enese was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Honey Burson; sister, Laura Burson; and brothers, Bobby and Roy Burson.

Left to cherish Enese’s memory are her husband of 10 years, Chris Wilson of Frankston, and son, Corey Fredieu and wife Sarah of Frankston. Her siblings are Carolyn Burson of San Antonio, and Ronnie Burson of Oklahoma. She is also survived by grandchildren, Mya Massey, Zoe Massey, Jayden Singletary, Mattison Graham, Jordynn Graham, Sophia Graham and Meldoi Fredieu.

Jerry Boles

Funeral Services for Jerry Boles of Frankston are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Chapel in Frankston. A visitation will begin at 9 a.m. in the church prior to the service.

Jerry passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born to Gladys and Jack Boles on May 16, 1940.

Although he worked pipeline all across the United States, Frankston was always his home.

He attended Sam Houston State college.

Jerry loved many things, including his wife Susie. They spent 20 years side-by-side traveling, tending cattle, selling tractors and visiting many old coworkers and friends.

“Jerry Boles”, as he was called by the neighborhood grandkids, loved them and  they loved him back. They were his adopted grandkids, some calling him their Texas Grandpa, others basking in his teasing and his taking them to the farm and spending quality time.

You could always count on Jerry for a smile, and newcomers and children soon learned he might be teasing.

Jerry, always a gentleman, is loved and will be missed for years to come.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Susie; his brother Jimmy and wife Monti and their children. Jerry’s three children are Jay and wife Phyllis, Jody and wife Alicia, and Julie and husband Chuck. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Lighthouse Chapel Building Fund or Frankston City Cemetery Fund.

Johnnie Lou Ellis

A graveside service for Johnnie Lou Ellis, 96, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Frankston City Cemetery with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating. Visitation will begin 30 minutes before.

Johnnie Lou was born on Oct. 8, 1926, to John Henry and Lottie (Hawthorne) Coker and passed away on April 30, 2023.

She was an absolute joy to be around. She never met a stranger, had a contagious smile, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was also very kind and generous. She was always willing to help anyone in need.

Johnnie Lou enjoyed traveling when she was able and was a savvy business owner. She owned and operated the Linda Kay Dress Shop in Jacksonville for almost 40 years.

Johnnie Lou’s greatest passion was her family. As a mother, she was always present in her children’s lives attending all their extracurricular activities. She was also very involved in their school and had a lifetime membership in the PTA.

Johnnie Lou was the glue that held folks together. She was a woman of great faith and a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Frankston. Faith was important to Johnnie Lou, so much so, that her children were always there, attending vacation bible school whether they liked it or not. Johnnie Lou will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a true instrument of God’s righteousness used to reach into the hearts of many.

Johnnie Lou was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Lottie (Hawthorne) Coker; loving husband of 71 years, Marshall Ellis; son, Dr. Grady Ellis; brother, T.J. Coker; sister, Evelyn Spiva; son-in-law, John Sheehan; and daughter-in-law, Linda Kay.

Left to cherish Johnnie Lou’s memory are her son, Joe Ellis and wife Polly of the Hollywood Community; and daughter, Jennie Sheehan of the Hollywood Community. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: John Ellis, Alicia Eubanks, Jennifer Sheehan, and Alicia Kay Diaz; eight great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
