Pictures with archived obituaries posted after that will be added in cooperation with funeral homes or on requests from families.  As was the tradition of the Citizen newspaper, obituaries are published at no charge.

Robert Dickerson

Robert Dickerson, age 75, entered eternal life on June 5, 2020 at his home in Jacksonville.

He was born May 16, 1945 to Charlie and Tommie Dickerson in Beaumont, Texas.

A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at Frankston City Cemetery. Chris White will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Robert was a member of Church of Christ in Frankston. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and worked as an insurance agent.

He was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Sherry Ann Dickerson.

Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his beloved wife, Lynn Dickerson of Jacksonville; children, Dustin Ray Dickerson of Jacksonville, Aime Lea Johnson and husband Jerry of Athens, Wade Eric Dickerson and Brandy Lawson of Frankston and Misty Kay Dickerson of Jacksonville. His siblings are Alana Moore and husband Jimmy of Frankston, Debbie Edmonson and husband Gary, all of Frankston. He is also survived by a niece, Leah Lee and husband Donny and their children, Abby and Andi of Buna, TX.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Brianna Lynn Bouchillon, Jonah Preston Johnson and wife Madi, Noah Daniel Johnson, Cody Lane Dickerson, Carli Leann Dickerson, Kaleb Lawson; great-grandchildren, Trooper Mason, Hadlei Faye Harris, Finley Ray Bouchillon, Margo Jaye Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Peggy McDonald

Peggy McDonald, age 82, of Frankston entered eternal life June 9, 2020. She was born September 10, 1938 to Jerry and Avie (Smith) McDonald in Berryville.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Bro. Paul Diepenbruck officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wofford Cemetery.

Peggy loved her baby dolls, would often be found enjoying Dr. Pepper and Reese’s candy and always had her purse with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Peggy is survived by a host of cousins and friends who will all miss her very much.


Dave Lindsey

Dave Lindsey, age 39, of Frankston, entered eternal life June 9, 2020. He born September 14, 1980 in El Dorado, Arkansas.

A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Rev. Scott Wylie officiating. He will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Dave was a truck driver. He admired muscle cars and enjoyed car shows. He spent time rebuilding his 69 Charger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Left to cherish Dave’s memory are his parents, Bob and Becky Lindsey and his children, Savannah and Austin Lindsey; all of Frankston. He is also survived by his brother, Craig Lindsey and wife Cortney of Henderson and nephew, Christopher Lindsey.


Noal Lee Brasuell

Noal Lee Brasuell, 92, of LaRue, Texas passed from this life June 9, 2020. She was born in Doole, Texas on September 10, 1927, to the late Henry and Lou (Weathermon) Lunday.

Noal Lee is survived by her daughter, Judy Keating and husband, A. B. Keating; two grandsons, Nathan Keating and wife Adina, Brent Keating and wife Cyndy; five great grandchildren, Alec and wife Taylor, Dallas, Paige, Macy, and Baleigh. She is also survived by Ova Mae Brasuell Lunday, who was the wife of her late brother, Clifford Lunday.

Noal Lee is preceded in death by her precious husband, Welton Brasuell, and five brothers and five sisters.

Noal Lee Brasuell was a strong Christian lady who loved her God and her family with all her heart and soul. She lived and served with excellence. There was never a wife, mother, grandmother or friend who loved more fiercely or was more devoted than she was.

Over the seasons of her life, Noal Lee had many experiences and made many friends. She and her family left their home in New Braunfels, TX to help establish a church in Port Lavaca, TX. From that point forward, God opened the doors and they walked through them, never looking back. They served at Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, MS, for four years, Texas Bible College in Houston, TX, over 20 years, as well as serving in churches in McComb, MS, Lufkin, TX, and Jacksonville, TX.

It would be impossible to count how many lives Noal Lee Brasuell has touched. She taught by example. She sacrificed with joy. Her greatest passion was to make an impact on the lives of others. Souls were won to Christ, then their families were won, and it continues today as her amazing family continues the work she so loved.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. and the Home-going Celebration will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Greater Life Church, 134 Enchantment Lane, New Braunfels, TX. Interment will be at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery, New Braunfels, TX. Arrangements have been entrusted to Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville, TX.




Richard “Dick” Atwood

Richard “Dick” Atwood, age 88, of Frankston, entered eternal life June 22, 2020.

He was born to Richard and Betty Lou Atwood on December 15, 1931 in Frankston.

A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Frankston City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Following services, everyone is invited to the Atwood home for a Celebration of Richard’s life.

At the age of 67, Richard started Atwood Hat Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Anne Elizabeth Atwood and stepsister, Sherrie Heap.

Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his wife of 58 years, Sharon Atwood of Frankston; son, Richard Brooks Atwood II and wife Monica; his grandchildren, Richard “Buck” Brooks Atwood III, William Garrett Atwood, Victoria Elizabeth Atwood, Thomas “Jake” Jackson Atwood and Lindsey Feagins.

Jean F. Morrow

Jean F. Morrow, age 89, of Frankston, entered eternal life June 22, 2020. She was born on December 9, 1930 to John and Rena (Guillory) Suter.

A funeral service is scheduled at 2:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2020 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Visitation will begin one hour before the service.

Along with her children, Rev. George Folmar will officiate. Jean will be laid to rest at Garden Oaks Memorial Park next to her husband of 52 years, Tommie J. Morrow.

Jean was an assistant-manager at Sears in Palestine for 30 years. She was a member of Hill Top Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Tommie J. Morrow, and second husband, L.D. Burris.

Left to cherish Jean’s precious memory are daughters, Donna Sharon and her husband Gary of Corsicana, and Susan McDaniel and husband Jerry of Allen; son, Tommie J. Morrow Jr. and wife Irene of Schertz; brother John V. Suter and wife Sylvia of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, David Sharon, Holly Saunders, and Stephen and Jason Morrow. She is also survived by eight wonderful great-grandchildren.

Many food banks, shelters, churches, and organizations in your community would be grateful for your time, a donation, or anything you could do to help.


Earl Lawson

A Memorial Service for Earl Lawson, age 78, of Frankston, has been scheduled for Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston.

Mr. Lawson passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 in Tyler.
