Dorothy Morton
Funeral services for Dorothy Morton, 85, of Poynor were held Monday, October 2 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was at Oaks Cemetery, Fair Oaks Community, Limestone County.
Mrs. Morton passed away Thursday, September 28.
She was born November 19 in Wichita Falls. She was retired from Houston ISD where she was a secretary for over ten years. Mrs. Morton was a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #1113 and Past Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by husband Cassie Warren Bauhof, her parents John Calvin and Jessie Louise Presley, brother Robert Presley and sister Mildred Tinsley.
Survivors include her husband Horace Morton of Poynor; son Gary Bauhof of Fort Smith, Arkansas; step-son Hubert Morton and wife Marylon of Houston; grandchildren Gary L. Bauhof, II of Austin, Melodie A. Woolsey of Fort Smith, Arkansas and William Warren Bauhof of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bill Clanton, Kent Ward, Mike Johnston, W.C. Brasher, Ken Locke and Charles Garner.
Bettie L. Walker
Funeral services for Bettie L. Walker, 70, of LaRue were held Tuesday, October 3 at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Athens with Bro. Cecil Downey officiating under direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home, Athens. Burial was at LaRue Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker passed away Friday, September 29.
She was born August 2, 1936 in Henderson County to Jonnie and Nellie (Edwards) McCall. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church in Athens.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Lynn Miller and husband of 30 years Jack F. Walker, and granddaughter Madison Nichole Miller.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Billy and Tanya Miller of LaRue; daughters and sons-in-law Johnnie Lynn and Ricky Harris of LaRue, Della and Lynn Wymore of the New York Community; brothers and sisters-in-law Clyde and Ann McCall of Athens, Ed and Nancy McCall of Murchison, and Franklin and Danna McCall of Athens; sister and brother-in-law Loucille and Dewayne Perkins of Burleson; grandchildren Justin Miller, Chance Miller, Brandon Miller, Rebecca Miller, Colton Miller, Katie Wymore, April Myers and husband Zacharia, Cammie Wymore, Richard Harris and wife Shelby, and Kyla Harris; great-grandchildren Trey, Barrett, William and Kalvin Harris and Tirzah Myers.
Pallbearers were Richard Harris II, Justin Miller, Chance Miller, Brandon Miller, John McMakin and Billy Harris.
J.W. McMahon
Funeral services for J.W. McMahon, 98, of Frankston were held Thursday, October 5 at 1 p.m. at Frankston Church of Christ with John Thompson officiating under direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Burial was in Judson Cemetery.
Mr. McMahon passed away Monday, October 2. He was born June 7, 1908 in Cayuga to Charles Wilcie and Amy Elizabeth Daniels McMahon. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Frankston Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David McMahon, three brothers Orbie McMahon, Ansley McMahon and Sam McMahon, and a sister Hattie Stanmire.
Survivors include his wife Alice McMahon of Frankston; sons Aithel McMahon of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Jerry McMahon of Garland, and Joe McMahon of Tennessee Colony; a sister Mary Ellen Pettiette of Houston, five grandchildren and ten reat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Cary Greg McMahon, John Gary McMahon,
ohn Douglas McMahon, Bryan Key, Steve Swinney and Jack Williams, Jr.

Kenneth Hoffman, Sr.
Funeral services for Kenneth Hoffman, Sr., 76, of Mabank were held Saturday, October 7 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ron Ivey offi ciating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Hoffman passed away Wednesday, October 4.
He was born June 1, 1930 in Frankston. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Collins Radio Communications. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Hoffman was preceded in death by his parents Tommy B. Hoffman and Lena Mae Cook Hoffman.
Survivors include his spouse Fern “Fran” Silvia of Mabank; son Kenny Hoffman, Jr. of Mesquite; daughter and son-in-law Kay and Cliff Pedigo of Irving; sisters Bonnie Fae Isaacs of Amarillo and Lois Owens of Dallas; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tony Sommer, Cliff Pedigo, Wes Pedigo, Wade Pedigo, James Lade, Jeremy Lade and Calvin Dowling.

Charles Robert Ebert
Funeral services for Charles Robert Ebert, 52, of New Martinsville, West Virginia and formerly of Frankston were held Thursday, October 5 at Grisell Funeral Home in New Martinsville, WV. A memorial service was held at the Sowers Cemetery in Irving on Saturday, October 14.
He passed away Monday, October 2.
Mr. Ebert was born August 30, 1954 in Weirton, WV to Paul William and Mazie Hargett Ebbert. He was a carpenter and a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Christopher Ebbert and a brother William Lee Ebbert.
Survivors include his wife Karol Ebert of Apache Junction, Arizona; children Robert “Bob” Ebbert of Foley, Alabama, Chasity Perry of Rowlett, Kelyn Ebbert of Bluffton, South Carolina and Charles Robert Ebbert Jr. of Bassett, Virginia; sisters Paula Petty of Flower Mound, and Mary Ann Beard of Frankston; nine grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
Willard “Pete” Manousos
Funeral services for Willard Boyd “Pete” Manousos, 80, of Flint were held Tuesday, October 17 at Elliott Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Bullard with Rev. Phillip Dillion officiating under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Bullard. Burial was in Frankston Cemetery.
Mr. Manousos passed away Friday, October 13.
He was born December 3, 1925 in Galveston. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M and a Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University. He worked 50 years as an aerospace engineer. He served in the Army/Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Living Hope Church in Tyler.
Mr. Manousos was preceded in death by a brother Lewis George Manousos.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Manousos of Flint; sons Michael Boyd Manousos of North Richland Hills, Milton D. Tomkins Jr. of Miami Beach, Florida, and Mark F. Tomkins of Coffee City; daughters Susan E. Boles of Frankston, Linda Sue Ewell of Flower Mound, Kathryn Ann Lynn of Hurst, Myra D. Cross of Austin, and Royce E. Couch of Destin, Florida; brother Donald B. Manousos of New Braunfels; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Milton Tomkins III, Mason Tomkins, Mathew Tomkins, Levi Manousos, Ryan Poe, Ryan Tomkins and Derek D. Price.
Honorary pallbearers were Milton Tomkins Jr., Mark Tomkins, Jerry Boles, Floyd Cox, Jerry Williams and Michael Manousos.

Eloise Isabelle Hummel
Memorial services for Eloise Isabelle Steinhardt Hummel, 97, of Whitehouse and formerly of Frankston, were scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21 at the United Methodist Church, Frankston with Rev. Doug Howell, Pastor David Orban and Rev. Dennis Cable officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Ms. Hummel passed away Friday, October 13.
She was born April 11, 1909 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Ralph Steinhardt and Florence Smith Steinhardt. Ms. Hummel received a registered nurse certificate from Cornell University School of Nursing, specializing in anesthesia. She worked for a few years as a nurse with Aramco Oil Co. in Saudi Arabia. She also worked at a hospital in Athens during the 1950’s and at East Texas Medical Center, Tyler. She was a member of Herbert Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God, Big Sandy.
Survivors include her extended family Clifton and Joyce Camp of Frankston.

Horace D. Brown, Jr.
Funeral services for Horace D. Brown, Jr., 71, of Alba were held Wednesday, October 18 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Mr. Frank Summers officiating under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba. Burial was in Turner Cemetery, Emory.
Mr. Brown passed away Sunday, October 15.
He was born June 27, 1935 in Rains County to Horace David Sr. and Ara Jane Hutchins Brown. He lived in Dallas before moving to Alba in 1994. He was a member of Alba Church of Christ and a supervisor for Emory World Wide in Irving. He served in the Army 1958-1960 and in the Reserves until 1964.
He was preceded in death by his father, Horace David Brown, Sr. on Sept. 4, 1995.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law David Wayne and Angela Brown of Frankston, and Bryan Christopher Brown of Lumberton, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Rex Allman of Fairview, Oklahoma; mother, Ara Jane Hutchins Brown of Alba; five grandchildren Brandi McManus, Dawn Michelle Bishop, Ashlee Mikesell, Amber Brown and Emily Jane Brown; two great grandchildren Jessica McManus and Jeremy McManus.
Pallbearers were Harry Junker, Johnny Mac Hutchins, Paul Hutchins, Donald McAree, Kent McAree and Mike Hutchins.
Willie “Mrs. Jesse” Smith
Funeral service for Willie Zaline “Mrs. Jesse” Smith, 89, of Frankston were held Saturday, October 21 at First Baptist Church, Frankston, with Rev. J.A. Griffin and Rev. Curtis Croftin officiating under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston. Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday, October 18.
She was born March 25, 1917 in Chandler. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston, where she was the oldest member.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Smith, Sr. and daughter Suzanne Smith Dickerson.
Survivors include son Jesse W. Smith, Jr. and wife Sheila of Frankston; four grandchildren Lee Smith Dickerson, Cheryl Dickerson, both of Frankston, Blake Rivers Smith of San Antonio, and Meredith Cameron Smith of Dallas; three great-grandchildren Heather Stringer of College Station, Shelby Stringer and Jon Dillon Reynolds, both of Frankston; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Mike Cook, Dana Bizzell, Jimmy Westbrook, Joe Dale Dickerson, Ronny Smith, Johnny Wofford, Larry Q. House and Bill Harden.
