Louise Dabbs

A funeral service for Louise Dabbs, of Frankston, is scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. Dr. Nathan McBride and Pastor Chuck Bratz will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour before. She will be laid to rest at Dabbs Cemetery in Frankston. 

Louise passed away on May 6, 2021. She was born in Groveton, Texas on April 4, 1938. She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Pert. 

Louise Dabbs

1938-2021

Louise was a world traveler with her Girl Scout troop visiting Europe before her senior year in high school. She was a counselor at Palestine ISD. and a teacher at Manor ISD. She graduated with her Master’s in Education from Southwest Texas University while teaching and raising three children. She loved quilting, crocheting, cooking and canning her goods. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Ira (Snyder) Russell; son, Todd Dabbs; brother, Chester Russell; sister, Joyce Russell; brothers-in-law, Jack Hartman and Chuck Moore. 

Left to cherish Louise’s memory are her husband of 62 years, Erwin Dabbs of Frankston; son, Jed Dabbs and Kathy Brown of Colorado; daughter, Julie Dabbs of Frankston and Jill Burnett and husband Billy of Lufkin; siblings, Laverne Wesley and husband Bill, Gladys Thigpen and husband C.B., Nunley Russell and wife Ann Mae, and Verline Hartman, all of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Sue Moore of Lufkin, Janet Dabbs of Lufkin, Cindy Dabbs Smith of Troup, Becky Pitner and husband Jim. She is also survived by six grandchildren Amanda Hyden, Jennifer Godfrey, Ashley Hyden, Todd Hyden and with Victoria, Lacey Peebler and fiancé, Martin Cummings, Trace Barrett and fiancé Taylin Mecham; great-grandchildren Brook Godfrey and fiancé Dru, Mason Tarrant, Cody Dickerson, Ethan Godfrey, Adli Hyden and Tessa Hyden; and one great-great granddaughter on the way, Gentry Sage. 

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. 

Rather than customary condolences, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Pert.


Rickey Wayne (Rick) Hefelfinger

A memorial service for Rickey Wayne Hefelfinger, 65, of Frankston, will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Hilltop Baptist Church, Frankston, with Brother Gary Dollarhide officiating. Brother George Folmar will be giving the eulogy and Brother Randall Jenkins will lead in the closing prayer. 

Visitation is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Hilltop Baptist Church, 11269 County Road 4117, Frankston.

Mr. Hefelfinger passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in Tyler.

Rickey (Rick) Hefelfinger

1955-2021

He was born Dec. 5, 1955 in Mart, Texas to Wilburn and Laverne Hefelfinger. He worked as a mechanic most of his life and loved to work with his hands. He had a small business making wooden knickknacks and furniture. His latest job was that of a carpenter. If you knew Rick you know he loved to be on the water fishing, and if you were going to go with him you better be up well before the sun and ready to go. 

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Hefelfinger; mother, Laverne Hefelfinger; father-in-law, Cleburn Burris and brother-in-law, Louie Burris. 

He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Linda Hefelfinger; daughter, Rachael Hefelfinger and Dwayne Hinds of Whitehouse; grandchildren, William Dollarhide, Madison Dollarhide, Avery Dollarhide and Chloe Dollarhide of Frankston; brothers, Butch Hefelfinger and Carolyn of Frankston, Bo Hefelfinger of Frankston, Dan Hefelfinger of Frankston; sisters, Phyllis Boles and Jay of Frankston, Ruthie Fennell of Frankston; numerous nieces and nephews; and great- niece and nephews.

Jenny Jones

1936-2021

A funeral service for Jenny Jones, of Frankston, is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Frankston. Rev. Scott Wiley and Rev. George Folmar will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery. 

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston. 

Ms. Jones passed away on May 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Jacksonville on Sept. 1, 1936 to George Alfred and Jnetta (Martin) Folmar. Jenny was a seamstress. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Melvin Jones; son, Randall Scott Jones; brother, Kenneth Folmar; and sister, Frances Ann Harley. 

Left to cherish Jenny’s memory are her daughters, Rebecca Taylor and husband Tommy, and Cynthia Tate, all of Frankston, and Tammy Tate and husband Raymond of Tyler. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Michael Hinojosa, Christopher Tate, Amber Tate, Bradley Tate, Bryan Taylor and Michaela Tate. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Hinojosa, Bryan Taylor, Shane Hughes, Rickey Harley, Steve Folmar and Johnny Wofford. Honorary pallbearers are Rickie Harley, Tommy Taylor, Raymond Tate, Christopher Tate and Buddy Nolan.

Richard Wayne Holcombe

A graveside service for Richard Wayne Holcombe, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville. Rev. George Folmar will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. 

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. until service time at Jarratt Cemetery. 

Rickey passed away on May 28, 2021, in Jacksonville. He was born in Jacksonville on May 3, 1958, to John and Judy (Smith) Holcombe. He was self-employed in resale business. 

Ricky was preceded in death by his father and sister Tracy Brown. 

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Judy Holcombe of Jacksonville; children, Jada Bell of Arizona, Jordan Holcombe of Jacksonville, and Justin Holcombe of Alabama; and special friend, Sherrie Dunn of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Holcombe and wife Donna of Frankston; and four grandchildren Jazlyn Gomez, Remy Rios, Ryder Bell and Weston Bell.

Dorothy Brown

1937-2021

Dorothy Brown, 84, of LaRue, passed away May 30, 2021 in Athens.

Dorothy Jane (Poole) Brown was born Jan. 5, 1937 in Dallas, the daughter of Manson Poole and Dovie (Smith) Poole. During the late 90’s and early 00’s she worked for Dairy Queen in Athens where she enjoyed meeting and serving people. She loved her plants and flowers and enjoyed the 37 years she and her husband rode motorcycles as a hobby. Dorothy was loving, kind and caring and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Darrell Brown; daughter, Teresa Ann Brown and sisters, Vera Cobb and Louise Cobb.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Herbert Brown of LaRue; daughters, Debra Lynn Warren and husband Mitchell of Granbury, Kathy Smith and husband Darrell of LaRue; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
