Leon N. McCauley

Leon McCauley, 76, of Frankston, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, in Palestine.

Leon was born March 4, 1943, in St. Jo, Texas.  

He was a welding inspector in the oilfield industry.

Mr. McCauley was preceded in death by his mother, Edna (Chaney) Frye and twin brother, Leonard McCauley.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda McCauley of Frankston; daughters, Jessaca Kordsmeier and husband Andy, Vanessa Smith, all of Tyler, Rita Sanchez and husband Franky of Waxahachie, and Amanda Tucker and husband Richard of Dallas; sons, H. Leon McCauley and wife Brandy of Maud, and Brian Fugett and wife Brandi of Waxahachie and James Fugett of Red Oak.  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 


Samuel Russell Snider, Sr.

A funeral service for Samuel Russell Snider, Sr., 66, of Frankston, was held Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Frankston.  

Bro. Scott Wylie officiated.  Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Samuel was born February 23, 1953, in Lufkin and passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019, in Frankston.

He was stationed in Germany, serving the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In the 36 years Samuel worked for Trane, he worked in maintenance, a welder, a first responder and a member of the safety team. He was a 3rd degree Master Mason. He had also served as an EMT and a volunteer with the Coffee City Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his father, LB Vestal; sister, Sandra Snider and grandmother, Annabelle Davis. 

Left to cherish his memory is wife of 38 years, Jana Snider of Frankston; mother, Russie Avant of Louisiana; children, Sam Snider and wife Ginger of Dallas, Susan Pepper and husband Joshua of Brownsboro, Sandra Spece and husband Adam of Centerville and John Gilleland of Arkansas. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jerry Mayes (Doris) of Athens, John Mayes (Tammy) of Liberty; sisters-in-law, Linda Rembowski of FL, Gloria Francis of CA and Judy Vermillion (Raymond) of Rusk. His grandchildren are Kaleb, Adam Jr., R.J, Elizabeth, J.P., Abigail and Ethan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Genelda M. Scheideman

A funeral service for Genelda M. Scheideman, 66, of Frankston, was held Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston.

The Rev. J. A. Griffin officiated.

Mrs. Scheideman was laid to rest alongside her daughter in Wofford Cemetery in Frankston.

Genelda was born November 18, 1952, in Athens and passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her father, H.E. "Sonny" Melton; her husband, Raymond Scheideman and her daughter, Rebecca Bryans.

Left to cherish her memory is her  mother, Nelda H. Melton of Frankston; sister, Renee Herrin of Rowlett; and brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Thressa Melton of Frankston.

She is also survived by nephews, James Herrin and wife Mallory of Richardson, Chris Herrin and wife Bethany of Dallas, Ricky Hunt and Kerry Hunt of Frankston; niece, Brittany Nash of Amarillo; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were James Herrin, Chris Herrin, Ricky Hunt, Kerry Hunt, Dane Guillory and Brian Barcolow.


Roger Raymond Puttcamp Jr.

A celebration of life for Roger Raymond Puttcamp Jr., 84, of Frankston was held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Stewart’s Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Puttcamp passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in Tyler. He was born December 13, 1934, in Houston, to Roger and Beatrice Puttcamp.

Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Denise Puttcamp; son, Brett Alan Puttcamp; and grandson, Brandon James Settle.

He is survived by his loving family including his beloved wife of 36 years Mary Lou. Roger is also survived by his children, Cathie Owen, Sharla Dellinger and Mary Lou’s daughters, Cindy Whitman and Michelle (Jim) Settle. Roger is also survived by his much loved grandchildren, Kate and Angela Owen, Wyatt Hebbler, Brittany Quimby, Bobby Dellinger, Paul, Jared, Iva Christine and Autumn Whitman, Paul Koenke, Kelly Michelle Settle and Alan Puttcamp.

Roger was a long time resident of Plano. He worked in lumber and building supply sales, retiring in 2001 at 67 from McKinney Lumber. He and Mary Lou moved to Lake Palestine, and traveled extensively throughout the United States with the Good Sam’s Club, taking the opportunity to visit friends and family.

Roger was an avid fisherman and took great pride in teaching his grandkids to fish with him.
