Mary Lou Morgan



A funeral service for Mary Lou Morgan, 90, of Frankston, was held Saturday July 28, 2018, at Church of Christ in Frankston with Don Canter officiating.


She passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Frankston.Mary Lou was born October 24, 1927, in Martha, Oklahoma to Donner and Estelle (Stiles) Terry. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Frankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Roy Allen Morgan. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dr. Roy Morgan III; and daughters, Mary Ellen Porter, Terry Eileen Thomas and Jena Lee Gumpert.


Donald Mullinax


Funeral Services for Donald Mullinax of Frankston are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Dale Perry officiating.


Interment will follow at Carroll Springs Cemetery.


Donald Mullinax passed away on July 31, 2018, in Tyler, Texas.


Donald Ray Mullinax was born February 16, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Price Bates Mullinax and Emma Elizabeth Willenborg Mullinax.


He was a self-employed master electrician and owned and operated D-Ray Electric since 1983.


He enjoyed working on all kinds of stuff and especially enjoyed metal detecting.


He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. “Poppy” was a loving father, brother and grandfather who will be missed by many.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jacqueline Sue Gillenwater Mullinax; two brothers, Leon Mullinax and Melvin Mullinax and one grandson Zachary Mullinax.


He is survived by three children, Donald “Donnie” Mullinax Jr. and wife Susan of Frankston, Kelly Mullinax of Palestine, Monica Atwood and husband Brooks of Frankston; four siblings, Bill Mullinax of Athens, Pat Moore of Bedford, Eddie Mullinax and wife Billie of Euless, Anita Roy of West Lake, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Trace Andrews and wife Ceci, Trent Andrews and wife Ashley, Lindsey Thornton and husband Nathan, Lacee Mullinax, Buck Atwood, Garrett Atwood, Tori Atwood, Jake Atwood; and six great grandchildren, Tyler Andrews, Daisy Andrews, Liana Andrews, Nico Andrews, Rylan Andrews and Felicity Thornton.


Visitation will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.


Serving as pallbearers are: Trace Andrews, Trent Andrews, Nathan Thornton, Garrett Atwood, Jake Atwood and Brooks Atwood.


Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.

Stacie (Stallings) Means


A funeral service for Stacie (Stallings) Means, 49, of Frankston was held Monday, August 6, 2018, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.


She passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Jacksonville.


Stacie was born October 27, 1968, in Jacksonville.


She was preceded in death by a brother, Murray Stallings.


Left to cherish his memory is her husband, Robert Means of Frankston; mother, Patricia Gayle Pace of Grand Prairie; father, Dan Stallings and wife Cindy of Jacksonville; son Wesley Morphis of Frankston; daughter, Bailie Vandagriff of Henderson; brothers, David Smart of Bryan, Justin Pace of Irving, and Jason Pace and wife Jennifer of Midlothian, Wylie Stallings and wife Brittany of Greenville; a sister, Heather Pace and husband Charlie; and one granddaughter, Codi Christian Chandler.


Wayne Gideon


A funeral service for Wayne Gideon, 83, of Lowell, AR, is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Frankston.


The Rev. Scott Wiley will officiate.


Mr. Gideon will be laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery in Frankston. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.


Mr. Gideon passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, in Rogers, AR.


He was born July 14, 1935, in New York, Texas, to Joseph Samuel and Ila Mae (Hopson) Gideon.Wayne was a member of William F.
Foster Masonic Lodge.


He previously served as a volunteer fireman, was a Shriner and Lions Club member. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Frankston.


Mr. Gideon was preceded in death by his parents.


Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Sandra Jo Gideon of Lowell, AR; daughters, Patricia Lynn Maley and husband Tim of Conroe, and Nanci Gail Feagans and husband Brad of Rogers, AR; son, David Wayne Gideon and wife Sonia of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be Brad Feagans, Tim Maley, Brandon Feagans, Scooter Keeter, Dru Dunlap, and James Rivers.


Honorary pallbearers are Fifty Year + members of William F. Foster Masonic Lodge, Cameron Pacheco, Derek Marshall, and Rich Howard.


Visitation was to begin on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, and friends are cordially invited to visit with Wayne’s family from 5 to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Louise S. Rosengren


Louise S. Rosengren, of Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018.


Mrs. Rosengren passed away at Palestine Regional Medical Center at the age of 90.


She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, to William Jackson Simmons and Mattie Lee Briley Simmons on the Aug. 5, 1927.


Mrs. Rosengren was retired from General Electric and a faithful Christian. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.


She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mattie Simmons; husband, Kenneth Rosengren; and brothers, John Simmons, Ray Simmons and Joel Simmons.


Mrs. Rosengren is survived by her sisters, Linda Glynn of Pasadena, Texas, Juanita Bird of Frankston, Faye Smith of Houston, Jackie Mudd of Deer Park; brothers, James Simmons of Frankston and Karl Simmons of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services for Louise S. Rosengren were conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Paul Jacks officiated.


Friends were cordially invited to a visitation with the family one hour prior to the service at Rhone Funeral Home.


Mrs. Rosengren was entombed in the Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale, Arizona, at half past ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 8th day of August, 2018.

Jimmy ‘PeePaw’ Reynolds

A funeral service for Jimmy “PeePaw” Reynolds, 90, of Frankston, was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with the Rev. Scott Wiley officiating. Mr. Reynolds was laid to rest at Frankston City Cemetery.


Mr. Reynolds passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, in Tyler.


Jimmy was born April 26, 1928, in Frankston to Hubert and Lois (Hardee) Reynolds.


Mr. Reynolds was a plumbing contractor, licensed realtor, as well as a supervisor for Red Bird Construction Co. in Athens for many years.


He was a member of First Baptist Church in Frankston.


He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Wanda Reynolds, the mother of his children; and second wife, Merine Reynolds.


Left to cherish his life are his sons, Jim Reynolds and wife Charlcie of Corsicana; Bill Reynolds and wife Sharon of Frankston; a daughter, Kathy Palafox and husband Gerald of Tyler; sisters, Dot Marsters of Jacksonville and Kay Gouger and husband James of Frankston.

He is also survived by five grandchildren: Michael Reynolds and wife Candace, Brad Reynolds and wife Jinger, Heath Reynolds and wife Angie, Jon Dansby and wife Lana, Amy Parris and husband Joel; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Larry Lummus, David Westbrook, Doyle Smith, Johnnie Day, Mike

Goodman and Britt Bacon.


   Glenda Jo McGraw-Bain


Ms. Glenda Jo McGraw-Bain, 76, of Frankston passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at UT Health in Tyler.


She was born on Feb. 15, 1942, in Blooming Grove to Robert and Viola Mae McGraw.


Glenda was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and grandmother to her family. She was also one of the Sewing Sisters of

Texas that makes and donates quilts to Seven Star Foundation, which provides military children the opportunity to attend YMCA camp.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Viola Mae McGraw; brothers, Jim Bob, Sunny and Raymond McGraw; sisters, Nannie Ruth Palmer and Mary Nell McGraw.


She is survived by her daughter, Amy Jo Bain and husband Lance Hughes; son, Scott Bain and wife Amy; sisters, Dorothy Jean McGraw, Lena Mae and husband Bob Winstead, Peggie Sue Reynolds, Doris Stibbins, Diann Cornish and husband Ray; sister in law Patsy McGraw, as well as many nieces and nephews.


A grave side service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Arrangements were handled by

Corley Funeral Home.

Jeannie Buchanan Oakley

Mrs. Jeannie Buchanan Oakley died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in Tyler, Texas.


She was born July 20, 1940, in Mixon, Texas, to Marion and Nellie Buchanan.


She was a longtime manager of Dairy Queen in Jacksonville and a lunch lady at Frankston Independent School District.


She is survived by a dearest loved one, Troy Allen of Jacksonville; a son, Tony Alverson and wife Linda of Stranton, Virginia; daughters, Sarah Redford of Midland, Carla McNertney of Frankston and Marsha Jones and son-in-law Loran George both of Lake Striker; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one sister, Bobbie Paul, formerly of Frankston.


A memorial is set for Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Frankston Fire Department.


Grady Dan Howell


Grady Dan Howell died Friday, Aug. 10, 2018.


He was born in Frankston to Hilliard Howell and Ruby Cook Howell.


He was a retired Sargant First Class (Army) of the HQ CO 5th Battalion 4th BDE USATC ENGR TRADOC TC.


He served his country proudly for more than 22 years and received numerous citations and awards.


He is survived by his brothers Jimmy and wife Delores Howell of Frankston and Wilbur and wife Mary Ann Howell of

Palestine, a very special friend, numerous nephews and nieces and friends.


He will be missed. Services are pending.

Dana Jean (Lake) Simmons

Dana Jean (Lake) Simmons, 61, passed away on Aug. 23, 2018.


She was born on Dec. 17, 1956, to Leila Dale Whitted and Joe McMin Lake in Aurora Colorado.


She moved to Texas at an early age. She attended Bullard High School and Tyler Junior College.


She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Don Lake.


She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James E. Simmons, Jr.; daughter, Joy Simmons; step-daughter Leah Hanna; grandson Kameron Brynt; two sisters, Debra Johns and Bobbie Sue Coffee O’Dell and several other family members.


She was a beloved wife, mother, granny, sister, cousin and aunt.


Dana was a friend to all and will be deeply missed.
